We recently had two meals at Torali. One was excellent - very flavorful and beautifully prepared dishes, at a level one would seek out. The other was odd - one dish was so over-salted it was inedible. The staff member was very gracious about it and responded appropriately, but that should simply not be happening. The overall space is beautiful, with not only a restaurant but a bar and cafe, all very light, modern, elegant, and yet comfortable. So Torali excellent in many ways, with potential to be excellent in all ways. But the restaurant kitchen needs to be more precise in its cooking, and fulfill its evident potential rather than fritter it way with too much salt. I will try it again but one more negative experience and I will restrict myself to the bar and cafe.
Thank you for the fabulous service!
Mediocre. Nothing that stood out. Just tables off the ritz Carleton main entry. No view, no privacy, nothing. Menu, very few items and no variety.
The 5 oz. filet was the perfect size along with the two sides. The steak was cooked perfectly. The gorgonzola potatoes were very good.
We had a wonderful surprise at the end of our meal for our anniversary! We completely enjoyed everything about our experience from the hostess to the environment!
Everything we had as absolutely delicious! Service was great. They even brought out a free desert for my birthday. Beautiful ambiance too.
Lovely. The service is wonderful and the food is great. Thank you.
It is pricey. But worth it for a special occasion. We spent about $800 on the party of 3. Half of the tab is our bottles.
I loved seafood linguini.
I took my fiancé here for our Valentine’s Day dinner and, overall, had a wonderful experience. Until we realized the next morning that her Tiffany pearl earrings were stolen from her travel bag in the process of coat check.
Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by the host. He of course offered to check our coats and two travel bags before being seated. Oddly enough—we were not offered a ticket for checking our possessions. Nonetheless, we were seated and had a wonderful dining experience: great food, good service. After finishing dinner and paying our check, we saw the same host and asked for our coats and bags. He then asked us for our coat check ticket—which we were never given—and after reminding him of such, he asked us to describe our possessions. So we described our coats *and travel bags* and he then left the hostess stand to retrieve them. However, he returned with only our coats, handed them to us, smiled, and thanked us for dining there. We then politely informed him that he forgot our travel bags—he then looked at us with a look of confusion and asked us to describe them. After describing them a second time, and after reminding him that we were never given a coat check ticket, he left the hostess stand again and finally retrieved our bags.
His behavior and demeanor seemed bizarre and suspicious, but, this being a high end restaurant in the Ritz Carlton, we shook it off and enjoyed the rest of our evening.
The next morning my fiancé opened her travel bag to put on her Tiffany pearl earrings and after opening her jewelry bag (located inside her travel bag) she realized they were missing. Being responsible adults, we searched our entire apartment from top to bottom. After coming up empty handed and being 100% certain she placed them inside her jewelry bag, inside her travel bag, we remembered the bizarre and suspicious behavior of the hostess and realized they had to be stolen during coat check.
Their response in person? “You must be mistaken.”
Great location to all the MI Ave shopping. Great vegetarian options and amazing service. Everyone was so nice. The food is amazing. All newly remodeled, so it was fun to see the new design.
The cocktails were good, wine list was pricey but good quality wines. The atmosphere was very nice and felt intimate. The food was disappointing. From the appetizer to dessert. We had brusheta - the toppings were covering the toast but you could taste that the toast was burnt. The tri colore salad was poorly constructed with flavors that did not meld and the dressing had a bitter taste. I had a 5 oz fillet that was clearly cut from the end of the tenderloin. My husband had the duck and there were three tiny pieces. You would have to have the appetizer and a salad to be satisfied. My husband's desert was the best part of the meal for him - chocolate cake. I had the caramel apple custard that had a strange consistency and no flavor. The presentation was pretty but I ate 3 bites and gave up. The waiter was nice and attentive and it was not his fault but it was the most disappointing $450 meal I've ever had.
Wonderful crab salad. Waiter the best!
Wasn’t managed well for NYE
I expected a lot more for a restaurant at the Ritz. My husband and I had dinner here on New Years Eve. The restaurant was not overly crowded. The best part of the meal were the olives and bread they give every table. We both ordered the filet. Everything came out cold!! The side of vegetables were horrible as they were in a red sauce. The truffle mashed potatoes were not even edible due to be cold and beyond dry. Our filet’s were over done and also cold. They were actually burnt on the top. The only good thing about this place is the staff. The servers and bus boys were amazing and attentive. The drinks were also great. Clearly the problem lies in the kitchen. It is beyond expensive. Normally we don’t care what we spend when we have great food, but I have never been more disappointed. I am not one to ever complain because I know it has nothing to do with the server, and I’m not that high maintenance. I felt compelled to leave a bad review because people should know this restaurant is really bad, and over priced.
Fantastic food & service!
Fantastic restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely recommend for a romantic date or a fancy occasion.
A very pleasant restaurant featuring well prepared food and excellent service. A very enjoyable and unrushed experience.
Family holiday get together.
Server was not familiar with wines to suggest. The cavatelli was loaded with tomato sauce and just not good. Prices too high. Wouldn’t return
STAFF WAS SUPER-FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE. AMBIANCE WAS FANTASTIC. FOOD WAS FABULOUS. WE WILL GO BACK THERE IN THE SUMMER!
I was disappointed with the service. The food was just ok. The drinks were good. Value not worth it for me after all. We sat on a table by the glass wall. The server saw us, came and talk to the table next to us and left. That was it, he never came back, we were never acknowledged. After 10 minutes we walk by the bar and had drinks and a snack. The same server was standing there my friend asked for the bathroom and the server ignored him. Simple as that his name was Camilo. I couldn't believe his nerve to pretend he never saw us and he didn't heard my friend. The bar tender was ok, again we were disappointed. We had a room in the hotel but we had the rest of our meals outside this hotel and restaurant.
Business meeting for breakfast. Awesome atmosphere!
Albert was phenomenal. Great experience and service
Incredible servers. We try to eat here at least a few times a year. The personnel are incredible
This is their best menu yet. A+
Nice place, very conveniently located at the Lobby of the Ritz Chicago!
Service is top notch, our server Mitko was great!
We had a lovely brunch on Saturday. The Ritz-Carlton did a great job renovating and redecorating their lobby/restaurant level. Love the Christmas decorations!
The staff is exceptional: polite, courteous, accommodating to dietary needs. It was easy to carry on a conversation; Our waiter: Robert made us feel welcome . We plan to come back again
It was fantastic! We had the fillet and it came with delicious truffle butter. Absolutely recommend for a special event or when you’re feeling on dropping some serious cash. The only thing that I was surprised about was that there wasn’t really a view since it is on one of the higher levels of the building. They also gave us a complementary chocolate cake!
Exceptional service and delicious seasonal menu.
Torali was a big disappointment. I love Osso Bucco , which I love, but is rarely on menus. I ordered it, and it was OK, but not great. My nephew had a steak and it was the same thing. Good but not great. My wife had steak tartare and it was inedible. The waiter was fabulous.
They were closed except a limited buffet due to strike and still taking reservations per open table and even sent text reminders . Wasted trip there and messed up our evening. Why didn’t they just say so?
Nobody bothered to call and let me know that the hotel workers were on strike and that the restaurant wouldn’t be serving a normal menu.
reserved a table for our anniversary. But they ended up only having buffet because workers are on strike. Didn’t give me any phone call or text message to inform me about this situation in advance.
Amazing food served by the wonderful Albert. The dessert menu is divine.
It was all sooooo gooooood! A go back to place! Yum!
Food was perfect. Shared a gluten free pasta dish with red sauce!!! Excellent!
We had a very nice lunch pre-theater. We will go back soon.
Loved the food and the drinks. The service was great.
The restaurant was almost empty during a Saturday dinnertime. My veal dish was half fat and gristle, disappointing.
Fabulous service and food. Had a great crab salad.
