All wines are available to order (with 10% case discounts). This week: A Taste of Burgundy, France (1/14 - 1/17) Burgundy offers a small handful of wine varietals. Among them, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reign King and Queen of the region. Burgundy is not only the birthplace of these beloved grapes, but it is highly regarded as having the terroir that best expresses their character - elegant, aromatic and complex. Whether you're looking for easy going, juicy wines to relax with at home, or something more complex to save for a special occasion or lay down in your cellar, this tasting has you covered.

Excellent quality food and unique ambience. Nice atmosphere with band on Saturday night. Speed of service was extremely poor but not our servers fault. Significantly understaffed for a completely full restaurant. Waited 90 minutes after getting drinks and spreads before we got main entree and they forgot to bring appetizer which came with the main course. They struggled with a simple Tito’s and soda with fresh lime but was afraid to ask again to fix. The staffing issue was enough to make me struggle to want to return.
Cannot recommend enough! Phenomenal food and experience for dinner. This will be a regular spot for date nights!

Phenomenal service, bright and unique menu. Live music was perfect volume, enjoyable but not obtrusive. Will most definitely be back! Try the wine sampler— it’s amazing!
My consumption at visits have included: Brussel Sprouts and Shitaake Mushrooms, a very nice glass of Tempranillo blend, and the Beauty in the Beets cocktail. All were excellent, although the appy had a bit too much oil/butter for my taste, and the cocktail was a bit sweeter than I prefer. With those adjustments, I would recommend all I've sampled.

From the ambiance to the menu, from the cocktails to the service, from the food to the presentation, and from the concept to the staff there is not a glaring weakness about Topsoil. It was every bit of what I expected a restaurant on the James Beard radar to be. Topsoil is delicious, innovative, yet unpretentious (unlike the stylistic approach of this review. I would recommend anyone and everyone dining there.
My wife is vegan, I am not, but boy eat Vegan here...or don't - either way they will knock your socks off.
I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day dinner. The drinks were dangerously good, the food was amazing and the staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food was paced well and our writer's recommendations were spot on. It was relatively quiet and laid back but it did pick up a bit when the live music started. Not overwhelming but it did get a little difficult to talk (we were directly in front of the musicians). It was an absolutely special night and I would absolutely go again. Compliments to the chef.

First time visiting and the appetizers definitely are shareable. The crispy Brussels and Shiitakes were soooo good. The Trio of Spreads were good as well but I wish we had ordered that first. Careful on what you order because costs can quickly pile up witha few drinks on top. Food was very good, live jazz music was great, but I will probably limit frequency of drop ins because of price but it was a good first visit for me.

We loved the quality of the food and service at TopSoil. Our server did an outstanding job of describing the wines offered during the tasting. She was very knowledgeable! The food was tasty but my cassoulet was noted as having white beans and had none. Having had cassoulet in Southern France it did not resemble a cassoulet (served in a bowl) but enjoyed the way the duck was cooked. The musicians were obscured from view from where we were seated. Music is a BIG plus with fine dining.
We will certainly come back as overall, the food quality, ambiance, and service was very good. Thank you!

We have been going to Top Soil regularly for about 6 mos. It is our favorite restaurant in the Greenville area. Always consistent on providing an excellent experience and perfection with the food. Highly recommend.
Service was very slow but our waitress did her best. I did not realize it was “restaurant week”, which may have been the reason for the slow service. Kitchen may have been short staffed. The wait staff were hustling all night so no fault of theirs.
Food was mediocre, I did request salt to add flavor to the quinoa. Brussel Sprout appetizer very good.
Wine pairing suggestion was great as well as the before dinner cocktails.
I will visit again as this was my first time dining at Top Soil. TR is a great little town and it’s nice to have a quaint restaurant on Main St for a date night.
The service and food were impeccable. It’s a big city dining experience in a small town. Chef Adam is passionate and creative, our server was very skilled and attentive and Mae the Beverage Manager recommended some of the most incredible wines we’ve experienced in Greenville. They have a rockstar team and we will most definitely be back!

Well served 3 meals, well balanced flavors and savors.
Special mention to the Brussel Sprouts perfectly seasoned and the cauliflower risotto, a must try.

Very quaint, cool vibe with this place. Really keen on the farm to table aspect with a great focus on locally sourced and seasonal items. An excellent place for vegetarian/vegan options as well. Fresh and delicious! My wife and I had a 3 course meal and it was all fabulous. Great attentive waitstaff and they were not in a hurry to get us out the door for another party. I would highly recommend and are already planning my next visit for my daughter's birthday.

The food was excellent, and so is the service. They accommodated our food allergies with no problem. Very nice atmosphere and very clean.
We did the 4 course chefs tasting menu for new years eve. One person in our party was a vegan another was a pescatarian, the chef did a fantastic job accommodating these needs. My wife did the wine pairings with her tasting menu that were superb, although she did not get her wine pairing for desert until after desert was finished and we reminded our server. The Tasting menu items were absolutely fantastic until we reached desert. This course fell well short of our expectations after the first three courses were phenomenal. All in all this was a fantastic meal and a great time was had by all. We shall return.

This was our first experience eating at Topsoil. We enjoyed every morsel. The gentleman that waited on us was very knowledgeable about the wine pairing and menu. We will definitely return.
