Topsoil Restaurant is a farm to table restaurant located in Travelers Rest SC with a screened in (heated) porch overlooking the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Local seasonal sourcing is at the heart of the menu that features fresh, simple and delicious dishes with local ingredients from our farm and neighboring farms. Dinner is prix Fixe 3 for $65.

James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef Southeast 2020, Chef Adam Cooke paints with flavor. Join us for dinner from 5 - 9pm Thursday - Sunday, brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10 - 2. Full service bar with crafted cocktails and wine list.

Sunday nights try our Chef's Tasting Experience featuring 5 courses with optional wine pairing. No two Sundays are the same! Delicious vegan menu items available upon request as well as dietary restrictions.

Live Jazz and half off selected bottles of wine every Thursday as well as small plates a la carte. Live Bluegrass Saturdays noon - 2pm. We look forward to serving you memorable meals worth the journey!

I brought my family here last night and not only was it way over priced, but the food was subpar and there wasn’t enough of it… We were still hungry after leaving! Very disappointing

This was our fourth experience dining here but the first time for dinner. We were surprised by the pre fix menu but our server was very helpful in explaining the purpose & offering alternate options. Live jazz band was playing, which was very nice & not too loud. Food was amazing & creative & beautifully presented but service was quite slow (over 2 hours to complete the meal). We will definitely return because it is truly one of the best restaurants in the GVL area. Staff is so friendly & knowledgeable. Food is top notch!!!

Absolutely amazing, creative, delicious food with fantastic wine pairings!!! There are a handful of places in town where you will never be disappointed but this place is only one of a couple that blow your mind when you take a bite. This is why you go out to a restaurant to eat!!!

Second time here. Our server was attentive without being overbearing, conversational when we wanted it. As usual, Topsoil is the only place we have ever eaten where every single dish leaves you filling satisfied but not heavy in your stomach. The burger and home fries were no exception. The salmon toast with mackerel cream cheese was so good. The cinnamon roll French toast was amazing. The fennel ‘75 was the real star. We ordered three between us. Sat on the side porch and enjoyed watching the bluegrass musicians at the perfect volume, which was exactly right per my seating request. Can’t wait to come back!!

We eat at nice restaurants in France quite often and Topsoil would be up there with those. The flavors and food combinations were imaginative and complex. The service was also excellent. The sommelier took care of our table. She was perfect in her interactions, personable and there whenever she was needed but otherwise invisible.

Arguably either the best or the second best restaurant in the Upstate South Carolina. truly a farm to table restaurant. Limited, but interesting and affordable wine list. Well worth the drive.

Food was excellent and beautifully prepared. Wait staff was great. Only complaint is that the portions were tiny, especially for the price. I know that’s a thing when trying to project a haute cuisine vibe. But, we left hungry and poor. 🥺

The music was entirely too loud, and the band refused to lower the volume after at least 3 requests. Shame on the management for not fixing the problem. I was embarrassed having invited a couple for their first visit. Conversation was impossible, and sitting inside on the nicest fall day imaginable defeated the purpose. Next time the manager, to whom I spoke, should act like a manager and handle the situation.

We went for the lunch with Blue Grass music by Wilder Things Than Us. Everything was lovely: the food, the music and the service. Gluten options for me and excellent choices for cocktails. And on top If that we found a pretty mushroom tea set. We will return for more! Thank you!

Excellent special occasion diner. Brunch choices and drink menu right where we liked it. Dessert was also on target. Live music was tasteful and not overwhelming although we sat immediately next to band. Prices for meal were average to slightly above. Staff was friendly, polite, attentive and kept our beverages fresh. Allowed ample time to enjoy.

Absolutely the best restaurant in the Greenville area!! Lisa was just awesome and chef was incredible, especially to make our 3yr old granddaughter “something special”, she ate every bite and wouldn’t share! Prices are very reasonable and wines were paired perfectly. We will be back, cannot wait!!

This was my second visit to Top Soil and I was disappointed. My first visit, the brisket hash (with potatoes and eggs prepared to order was excellent). Brisket was moist and flavor was excellent. Eggs were prepared over easy as requested. I couldn’t stop thinking about that meal! On this visit, brisket was dry and lacked flavor. Eggs were prepared over hard, not over easy as requested. I know I should have brought this to my server’s attention, but we were celebrating a friend’s birthday and I didn’t want to possibly make her uncomfortable on her first visit. Our server was excellent, patient as we decided on our food choices and kept our water glasses filled. With the inconsistency in food quality, not sure I’ll be back. I’m not sure my friend enjoyed it enough to return either.

Great management. Accommodated a large(er) group, with multiple change requests with Grace. Bar and bartender were awesome! Excellent cocktails, personable, knowledgeable & accommodating bartender. Great experience just at the bar! Dinner was yummy. Only watch out would be that entrees we’re not large enough to share & we did. We’re not huge eaters & it was still not enough. Otherwise creative & fresh!

Topsoil is our absolute favorite restaurant hands down. We drive from Hendersonville, NC to eat here. Everything we’ve had is extraordinary. Highly recommend if you’re a fan of unique farm-to-table cuisine.

Wow! Had a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience at Topsoil. We did the 3-course Sunday prix fixe menu. My wife follows a gluten free diet and is normally frustrated with the offerings and sub-par substitution, but that was not the case here. The bartender even stopped over to explain some unfamiliar ingredients. My wife is always very critical, but only had high praise for our experience. Service was top notch. Yes, it is not an inexpensive place ($240 for appetizer, drinks and heavenly 3 course meal, tax, tip), but having a satisfied wife, priceless! We’ll be back.
