Outstanding meal for Mother’s Day! Hands down one of the most delicious dinning experiences I’ve had in a very long time. Our family had the veggie trio spreads app, crispy Thai duck, hanger steak, cream corn risotto, halibut, and a sampling of desserts. All were fabulous! We’ll definitely be back. Very nice wine selection too. Loved seeing Sicilian wines available.
We had the chef's menu and thought everything was great. A lot different than normal but the combinations complemented each other and the wine choices also paired well with each course. I can't get the pork belly and red cabbage off my mind and my wife loved the asparagus with preserved lemons. Thanks for the super meal.
My husband & I both had the hanger steak & this was the best we’ve ever had! And the side vegetables were the perfect selection for a spring meal! Everything was so fresh. We will definitely return to try some more!!
My husband and I had one of the best meals at Topsoil since moving to the Greenville area. The farm to table taste was the real star in the delicious food that tasted so fresh and carefully thought of in the menu. We will definitely be back as often as possible!!
Favorite restaurant! Food was delicious and the chef is extremely talented. Lisa our server is knowledgeable and friendly.
We have had the five course dinner several times but last Sunday was terribly disappointing. I felt all but two of the five dishes were not worth eating.
Please don't ever serve the Octopus dish again.

An outstanding dining experience at Topsoil. Everything was fantastic ...no complaints. Food, drinks, service, ambiance was top notch. We booked an early Friday evening dinner with visiting friends we hadn’t seen in a while...wanted something special. We could have chosen anywhere...but after looking at the menu choices ..,and reviews decided on Topsoil. We’ll be back!
The food was wonderful but quite expensive for the portion size. The outdoor patio was lovely and the service was great.
This is a must-try if you're even remotely in the area. The cuisine, cocktails, service and ambiance are all perfect. I enjoyed a wide sampling of both the cocktail & cuisine menus - each was delightful. A low-key, local-centric gem & not to be missed!
The staff was hospitable and knew everything about the menu items. The craft cocktails were creative and tasty, and the food was delicious. Would recommend for a date night!

First time visit and now we would say one of the best restaurants in Greenville! We did the chef choice menu on Sunday night with wine pairings, and it was phenomenal. Our waiter was friendly, informative and attentive. We can't afford to eat this way every week, but I wish we could! Even still, it is a great value for gourmet dining.

Love this restaurant. The food is exquisite. Service amazing. My 12 & 9 year old loved it. The cheeseboard was fabulous. The Brussels sprouts were heavenly. The squid delectable. Scallop entree yummy. Hanger steak melt in your mouth and brioche donuts a fun end to the night!

We thought the service was good - as expected - portions were on the smaller side for the cost - we feel the overall value was not there for the cost for four people.
Farm to kitchen, not many choices . Food has nothing exceptional. No ambiance
Food was delicious. Service poor. Table of four. Restaurant was less than half full on a Friday night. Waiter very friendly, but took forever to deliver beverages to table. This continued through evening. Very long delay between starters and entrees. Very long delay to receive second round of beverages. While food was excellent, we will not drive out to TR again to receive poor service. If restaurant had been packed, we may have been able to understand delays. We expected top notch service for prices they charge and were disappointed. Too bad because food was really good.

Our server was attentive but timing out of the kitchen was off. We had six at the table so a challenge to get courses delivered together.
What a very unexpected but highly anticipated evening. Topsoil delivered on all points. Went for the Sunday Wine Pairing Dinner. The casual but sophisticated ambience, including a string duet, delivered an amazing evening of expertly prepared plates each accompanied by a delightful pairing of unique wines poured using the Coravin system ensuring that each glass is at full depth of flavor and intensity. The freshness of each dish showcases the best in farm to table authenticity. Topsoil is a gem in this quant hamlet called Travelers Rest. Look forward to a return to this wonderful find very soon!
Topsoil is fantastic. Food is wonderful, don't miss the unique wine selections and incredible charcuterie boards. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable.

In the the realm of astonishing food where "less is more" he most certainly prevails, equal to meals we have had at the French Laundry in Napa for example.
Very nice NOT to have to reserve 3-6 months in advance to get on a maybe waiting list too! The week of is just fine right now.
Last night my wife's Crispy Duck Cassolet and my Halibut Entrée were so special neither of us was willing to share a taste with the other!
His cooking is never suited for great quantities to bulk up, eaten hurriedly to catch a train home. They are for savoring, lingering, and talking with your dinning companions.
Always enjoyable. Topsoil is a favorite biking destination from downtown Greenville.

It took a long time to get drink orders though. I know they are handcrafted, but that process was slow. We had already ordered appetizers and food and spoke to the waitress three times before the cocktails came out. Other than that, it was amazing. Thanks for making our Birthday gathering memorable.

The wait staff was courteous and quick to get us seated. Our server was knowledgeable about the ever evolving menu (the ingredients are locally sourced and vegetables are seasonal, so that could be tricky). It was our first visit so we ordered based on the recommendations of our server. The Brussels sprout appetizer was exceptional! My scallop entree was cooked to perfection, also the textures and flavors were complimentary. My fiancé had the lamb dish and once again you could tell the chef and his crew have a mastery of the culinary arts. The meat was tender and seasoned brilliantly with a well executed pasta. The bartender made the most delicious aperitif and I also enjoyed her mixed drink “the smoke show.” You may have to spend a good deal of money for the dinner that we ordered, but in my opinion it was worth every cent!

Excellent quality food and unique ambience. Nice atmosphere with band on Saturday night. Speed of service was extremely poor but not our servers fault. Significantly understaffed for a completely full restaurant. Waited 90 minutes after getting drinks and spreads before we got main entree and they forgot to bring appetizer which came with the main course. They struggled with a simple Tito’s and soda with fresh lime but was afraid to ask again to fix. The staffing issue was enough to make me struggle to want to return.
Cannot recommend enough! Phenomenal food and experience for dinner. This will be a regular spot for date nights!
