When one comes to Charleston, one expects great food. We experienced great food. At Topsail. Food plated with love and so beautiful. I highly recommend and will go back. Great drinks and good food. We enjoyed our memorable experience. Chef is so imaginative and competent.

We had such a great time dining at Topsail last night. Joe our waiter was wonderful and kept it all flowing. Food and drinks! Food was fabulous. Already thinking about what I’m going to have next time.,looking forward to many more delicious meals there!

TopSail was terrific as usual. The mussels in the lobster cream sauce are the most delicious I've ever had. PEI mussels were nice size (not big) and very tender -- the sauce is so delicious when the mussels are finished you just want to drink up the sauce with a spoon (I used one of the mussel shells. Can't wait to go back.

Mediocre for the price. Our service was so nice, i wish I remembered her name. And the location is prime in Shem creek. The food was okay. Not the best, not the worst. But definitely expensive for the price. The Mo’Tito drink was delicious

We had a good meal and service but were unfortunately seated in the side dining room which was a sauna. The staff said there was nothing they could do about the temperature. Hot and sweaty is not a way to enjoy a night out.

Ordered appetizers, they never came. Brought our meals out and when we told them we never got our appetizers the food runner said the server messed up. Well after the mess up the server pretty much ignored us. I finally had to ask the hostess to please get our server so we could pay our bill and leave. The food was good but hard to get past the terrible service.

This Restaurant is a gem in the rough. We were from out of town and looking for a dog friendly restaurant. It was Saturday evening and all the restaurants were packed downtown. We found Topsail and where able to get a reservation for 6. We were seated on time and met at the table by Joe our server. He immediately served our pooch with water without hesitation and then proceeded to serve the human’s water and take our drink order. We ordered apps, Calamari and Oysters along with Hush puppies with Cajun Honey Butter. The drinks were spot on and the apps were cooked to perfection. Main course!! We all decided on the French Cut Pork Chop and share the Seafood Platter. The Chop was moist and tender, the mashed potatoes with roasted garlic was a perfect pairing. On to desert! We ordered three different ones to share, none disappointed! Then finished with a 10 year port. Thank you Joe and the kitchen for making our evening truly exceptional. John from California

We were warmly greeted by the owner, Joe, who was fun and available the whole evening without being intrusive. He got our cocktails quickly and brought us hushpuppies as we looked at the menu. The lobster deviled eggs were a great starter. The filling was very creamy and well seasoned. My partner ordered the Sicilian swordfish served over spinach with jasmine rice and I had the mahi-mahi special over greens and gnocchi with cream sauce. Both dishes were stellar and perfectly balanced. Portions were plentiful and the price point was very reasonable. We will definitely be back. All the staff were pleasant and helpful and we did not need to ask for anything. Highly recommend Topsail.

Hidden gem in Mount Pleasant. Last-minute selection on a Sunday, obtaining a pre-7PM reservation. The food quality was superb. Our salmon dishes were cooked perfectly for "Medium". The lemon cake dessert was outstanding. Please note seating is limited.

My mother, husband and I had such a positive dining experience at TopSail. My mother is 99 years old and is mostly wheelchair-bound. In making the reservation with TopSail, I alerted them to the wheelchair situation. When we arrived, the staff was prepared and offered us several seating options which were comfortable for my mother. We loved the elegant white tablecloths and the ambience of our dining area. We enjoyed the Lobster & Grits dish, the mahi-mahi special that evening, and my mother loved the fried shrimp which she declared were very fresh. Excellent cocktails too! Abby (from Maryland) and her colleague (from Southern California) offered very personable service. When we are back in town, we will definitely return to TopSail.

We booked our table @ 5:30 pm and were disappointed that the Happy Hour cocktail special was only available at the bar, not at our table. She Crab Soup was served at a lukewarm temperature. It has no flavour. Mussels were just OK. The broth was very salty. The Fried Calamari was also served lukewarm and soggy. The Seafood Platter was disappointing: the lobster tail was rubbery, the crabcake lacked flavour, the scallops and the shrimps were salty, and the gruyere grits were tasteless and gross. We were seated in the add-on area, next to a table of very loud people, which made our experience very unpleasant. I found the place pricey based on the lack of ambience and average food. I would not recommend this place.
