Great service, great food looking forward to coming back & try another fine meal
Service was incredible, love the spicy margarita. Food was fresh and tasty!
Very disappointing! Service, location and parking were great. Food was not worth the value. Caesar salad was served with brown pieces of romaine and they don't have anchovies, but mix them into the dressing??? Whole snapper had very strong fish smell when it came to table and it tasted bad. Texture was mushy and flavors were not appealing. She crab soup was very thick and bland, lacked flavor and while the calamari was good, it was only served with rings and no tentacles. Probably won't be back, too many other great restaurants in the area.
We got there 1/2 hour after it opened, it filled up by the time we left. We really enjoyed everything about it, the building , food and service were outstanding!! Would definitely go back again next time we’re in Charleston.
Not a huge menu selection but our party of 8 though everything was very good.
Bobby our server was fantastic! His energy and friendliness was outstanding. Food was good but the environment was very soothing.
Fabulous service! Great food!! 10 out of 10!!
Our table of eight thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Top Sail. Everything was excellent. We would highly recommend to others.
I left my purse at the Resturant and hope I will be able to get it back Josh was a great waiter and the food was delish.
Loved the food! Service was incredible and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu
Nov. 11, 2021- This is a very nice neighborhood find in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. I had the flounder stuffed with crabmeat, and it was delicious. Entrees are a bit pricey, but worth it. The service was excellent. They have a very nice wine list, as well.
Both fish dishes were on the verge of well done. Less side dishes for each entree is good. Less is more.
Joe our server was great. Food was delicious.
Our waiter was overly animated and talked far too much. He told us that he wasn't adding the gratuity to our bill automatically, but that he just knew we would take good care of him. He told us that more than once. When one of our party asked for another drink, he asked him to add "the magic word." Our party was very polite to the waiter, but he was over the top. At the end of dinner--after the dishes were cleared away, he brought out a whole fish of the day and told us, "This is on me!" We were stuffed, and we were not interested in the fish. We felt badly for just leaving it sitting there, but as I said, we had just finished a huge meal. We had already ordered dessert, but once he brought the fish, he brought our checks and forgot to bring dessert. We asked about dessert, and he told us it was "on me." Rightfully so, I guess, since he forgot. Dinner was good, but it would have been better with a quieter, less invasive waiter.
Exceeded our expectations!!!
Good food. Appeared to be a little short on help but everyone huddled
Not enough boiled or baked options. Lots of fried food.
Actually, there are no fried food options offered on our main courses, as all our entrees are either pan-seared, oven-roasted or broiled. We offer 3 fried appetizers - fresh oysters (the best around per our guests), calamari, and fried shrimp (offered on a slider). I believe you have confused us with another restaurant, perhaps a place up north, on a creek.
A bit pricy for the area and outdoor street view. Service was great though.
Ryan waited on us and was wonderful! The cocktails were excellent! We ordered the mussels and shrimp appetizer. The mussels were the best I ever had! We were very happy with everything and would definitely go back!
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be going back!
The food is fabulous! The entrees are so big that two people can share one! The service is terrific and ambience is great!
This is a restaurant where you can take your family or a date!
Ryan was a great waiter food was delish and loved the atmosphere.
Excellent service. Joe made the excellent food even better! Mussels in the lobster cream sauce were superb, lobster deviled eggs, good both starters. The Caesar salad should have been my entree but…I just had to share my husband’s excellent seafood platter. If only we didn’t live 8 hours away we would go once a month!
Awesome time at Topsail! Hostess, bartender and server were so nice and made our experience great!!
Service from Bobby was STELLAR. We've made reservations at so many places during our honeymoon week with those notes on the reservation and this was the ONLY restaurant in the Charleston area which not only acknowledged it, but offered us dessert for it. (Sadly we were too full.)
Food was good but we had shells in the she crab soup AND in both of our lobster and grits. Lots of shells. Very bummed about this. As a side note, I told the server about my severe allergy to clams and muscles and he went above and beyond to make sure none of our food was at risk and he let me know what was safe to eat after checking with the chef.
I really wish there wouldn't have been so many shells in our food, it would have been a perfect 5. I'd still recommend this place though, especially because of the service.
We started with Mussels, bone marrow, fried shrimp and she crab soup. Everyone loved their choice. Entrees included scallops, whole branzino, and mahi mahi. Again everyone loved their dishes. The waiter was efficient and friendly. Just the right amount. A good time was had by all as is usual here!
I probably won’t return…….the mussels were very stinky! The rest of the food was on the very salty side! I liked the ambiance
Small place and noisy. Outside dining available but on a busy street. Food was great.
Ok here we go. Made a reservation for a standard table, option was standard or outside. I chose standard. Knowing you only have 2 options one would think standard is inside as the outside choice is the other choice.
Hostess really didn’t care, said she gets that a lot, so we were seated outside when the restaurant was empty inside…. Now, she mentioned that the had a large party taking over half of the inside… really, not my problem as you accepted my standard reservation, not OUTSIDE reservation.
Ok, moving on. Waitress, nice, attentive and timely. Food, very good. 4 bug bites from being outside, not ideal.
2 more parts. 1, upon finishing our $150 dinner…. Outside, my wife notices 2 scurry rat tails going under their wood deck where the fire pit is outside. Now she is disgusted, as am I. 2… another couple walks in as we are finishing., same exact issue, they reserved standard table and questioned why they were outside, their table was even closer to the road.
This restaurant needs to define their reservations AND get rid of rats!!!! Good $$ spent now questioned. Will not return again.
Standard seating was previously designated as both inside dining and covered patio (which includes fans and heaters). Within the last week, Open Table has provided a software update that allows Topsail guests to choose inside dining, covered patio, and outside tables. We are confident this feature will clarify any confusion regarding seating areas. We live in a tropical, coastal climate that attracts rodents in outdoor areas. However, we have addressed the issue and they have been eliminated.
Our server was Josh, and he was friendly and attentive. I had the fried shrimp appetizer with house-made tartar plus a side of garlic smashed potatoes and a margarita; all were delicious. My husband had the fried oysters and enjoyed them as well.
Great food - probably the best that we’ve had in Charleston, but it took forever to get the check and to pay.
After being sat outside, nearly on the street, waiter continued to forget about us. Wouldn’t let us order dinner with drinks. After waiting 25 minutes for 2 glasses of wine, we left without even given the chance to order dinner.
we have been there now 6-7 times and it has always been excellent. We cannot recommend this restaurant more. Food, Service , preparation, etc. is just first class.
Great food! Great service. Will definitely be back.
The menu at Topsail, as well as the convenient location is what drew my wife and I to make a reservation. From the looks of the menu, it looked like it was going to be a great food experience. While the ambiance was fine, and the service quite good, the food was just "ok" and not what we expected. Presentation was also quite ordinary. And we feel like it didn't match the prices on the menu. Topsail has a Thursday night promo where certain wine bottles are half price, which was nice. So, while we still enjoyed ourselves, we will likely try some of the area's many other restaurants before giving Topsail another try.
Cozy, tastefully decorated restaurant. They have half off bottles of wine on Thursday and the food was fantastic!
Excellent service and food.
Great food in a cool place. Our waiter was great. I will definitely go back!
My dads 60th birthday
