Food prep mediocre
Food served not all at once
Mixed drink awful. Old fashion with way too much simple syrup.
Had dinner outdoors. Only negative is traffic noise on Coleman. Otherwise, nice setting with great service from Ryan. Had the mussels with lobster cream sauce- delish! Then we both had the branding which was served whole with garlic smashed potatoes and mixed sautéed vegetables- wonderful! Love the food here and will be back.
Brussel sprouts were burned very little to eat. Shouldd have sent them back they came with the salmon which was v good.
Topsail never disappoints.. excellent service , and amazing food prepared by chef Hayden …
Delicious food, great friendly service in a lovely atmosphere. The special blackened grouper for the night was out of this world. 10/10 would recommend
This is our second time dining at Topsail. The food is fantastic as is the service.
Outdoor tables much too close to busy road. Very noisy.
Great meal and excellent service. Would definitely recommend.
The staff was great and Ryan our waiter did an outstanding job! The food was incredible and a great value, while the homemade adds to the cocktails were awesome! Foodies this is your place!
Service was good. Food was excellent. If you’re vacationing in Charleston, this restaurant is worth the drive.
Service was excellent and the food and cocktails were amazing. We really enjoyed our date night for my birthday! I would definitely come again and tell a friend.
A very good neighborhood seafood restaurant. We hadn't dined in this 2 1/2 year establishment previously but will definitely return.
Food and service was perfect. I was thrilled to order the bone marrow! We would love to come back next time we are in the area. Thank you Miguel for taking care of us.
This place is just one of the best in Charleston area. Good and drinks are consistently amazing, staff are great. It’s where many locals go off Shem creek and it’s just the best! Check out Patrick or Ryan at the bar!
Been there about 6 times now
It is one of my favorites in all of Charleston area
Fish dishes are superb and always so delicious
WE have eaten @ TopSail several times. However, it looks like they had a menu change wiuth increased prices.
The size portions are good , but I don't tinnk they justify the new prices for a
The food and service was fantastic. Topsail is quaint with a friendly atmosphere.
The food was fresh, delicious and Reasonably priced. The service was great and we had a great experience!
Our waiter, Josh was excellent. Josh was excellent! The kitchen made one meal inedible for a diet-restricted guest. Josh attempted to make it right and adjusted the bill when the kitchen did not make it right. The patio is loud and needs thicker sound-absorbing curtains. We otherwise and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Waiter was insanely annoying.. wouldn't leave us alone the entire meal. My husband tried to call and buy our dinner and they wouldn't let him? Food was subpar. Plenty of other great restaurants in CHS. Flies everywhere.
I had a group of 10 people and we are still talking about how great of an experience we had at Topsail Restaurant. The staff was exceptional: courteous, quick and making a lot of recommendations for both drinks and food. They (bartender and waitress) made our birthday girl feel special. We essentially had the bar to ourselves at 5pm and the bartenders gave us all the attention. The dinner was AMAZING: everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we all shared bites. Seems that the shrimp and grits were the fan favorite though (if we can only pick one meal). All of the seafood was great. We even had pork tenderloin and steak and they were to die for as well. Ambiance at the restaurant was perfect for a beach setting on an early Saturday evening out. I could not have picked a better restaurant for our group. Thank you for helping us celebrate a birthday and start our evening off with an exceptional experience.
I want to thank you for honoring my request for an outdoor table as I requested. The food was very good, and Miquel's service was excellent. The drinks coming from the bar were a little slow when dinner arrived.
My one hint to you would be to consider adding a non seafood choice in your appetizer list. Another member of our party has a shellfish allergy and there was no choice for an appetizer for her.
Wish you could stop the cars racing down Coleman....maybe a sign requesting "SLOW Down ...diners enjoying good food"....ha ha
Good place for dinner! I loved my Scallops for the entree. The ref wine from Willamette was excellent! I didn’t care for the deviled eggs!
Great staff and great food. We’ll be back.
Amazing food and great service! This spot seems a little underrated in this area.
We celebrated our anniversary at Topsail...Good food and Great service!!
Tuna was over cooked. Over-priced for food. Nice waiter.
Great service and fabulous food!
Main courses were sub par. Apps were great
The food was great and the service was outstanding!
This was a real find. Initially we had reservations at Magnolia but they were canceled due to a fire and so we were left Saturday morning finding a reservations for Saturday dinner which was also our last night In Charleston. This was a difficult so we feel fortunate to have found Topsail. To our surprise and delight, the food at Topsail was a culinary dream. We started with the fried shrimp and deviled egg appetizers. Both were prepared simply but delicious especially the lobster deviled eggs. The shrimp were fried to perfection. We followed the appetizers with Caesar and Arugula salads both were exceptionally dressed and the greens fresh and crisps. The entrees were served next. The stuffed flounder was exceptional as reported by my daughter, the lobster and grits were outstanding as well and enjoyed to the last bite. The seafood platter which include shrimp, scallops, lobster tail and crab cake were also one of the best I’ve had. The seafood was fresh, tender and sweet prepared expertly. Not tough and spongy but delicate and tender. Although it is featured with Jasmin rice, I chose the grits instead and they were prepared perfectly. Our final entree, the pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon was also tender and delicious . Miguel, our server was both attentive and pleasant. He helped to make our final night a special one. Thank you Miguel. We will definitely return when visiting Charleston in the future.
Four friends looking for outdoor dining for a girls dinner. I appreciate and use Opentable for all of my reservations needs because it allows the user to see what restaurants have available reservations including time options.
Topsail fit all of the parameters. We reviewed the menu and decided to give it a try.
Upon arriving at the restaurant we were greeted by a hostess we at us at our table. We reviewed the menu for drinks and food. We decided as a group to try several different drinks, appetizers and entrees. Our server was attentive without being overbearing.
The menu offered different appetizers and entrees for each of us.
Overall the experience was enjoyable and delicious.
What a great dining experience. Food, drinks, server , Ryan, all incredible!
We had the seafood platter, fried oysters, and catch of the day Halibut. Delicious!
My husband had the Hemingway drink. Fantastic. Real smooth. I had the jalapeño margarita. Too hot! Sent back for the regular margarita.
This restaurant is literally on a highway. As in they have tables less than 10 feet from a 4 lane highway. I specifically changed my Open Table reservation time to not be outdoors. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation time. There was literally 2 other tables sat. They proceeded to sit us out front near the road. I asked to be moved, and my request was denied. Because, ya know, all the other tables were full ……
Anyways. We stayed and ate. Food was just ok. The shrimp and grits were actually very good. But for $120, I’d rather not listen to road noise. Service was fine. Management is terrible. Don’t go. Spend your money elsewhere. Oh. By the time we had finished our meal ….. only one table was used inside. They do tell you that their outdoor seating is roadside in this App and others. But when I specifically request to not be, and then are met with arrogance, especially when there was plenty of “open tables”…..
Josh was an outstanding server. Knowledgeable about menu as well as accommodating to specific wants. Food was amazing. From the lobster grits to the seafood platter - loved it all.
Had a wonderful experience dinner was fabulous and drinks yummy!!
Food was good. Service good. Rather loud fellow diners
The food was delicious but service at this place is questionable. The server was short with us. Had a very cocky attitude was trying to rush us into ordering also dropped off the check even before we were done. I work in this industry and for the price of this place the service should be better the a chili's.
Really good menu choices for all. Food presentation is excellent and is delicious.
Love eating here. Only issue is Happy Hour is only at the bar, not the tables. Other than that it's a great place with tasty food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend. It's our favorite
