Top of Waikiki - Revolving Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Made reservation for 8:30pm. Didn’t seat down till till about 9:00pm. Waitress took 10-15 min just to come and greet us and then waited another 10-15 min just for water. We were there for over 3 hours, most of it was waiting for our food. Food was good. But experience could of been better for a restaurant like that.
For the Valentine's menu, the selection of the dishes for the four course meal was nice, but the food and portions could have been prepared better. My hot pot soup was luke warm and to only get 2 small strips of steak with a couple pieces of asparagus for a $95 dollar meal was pretty disappointing. I would have thought the main course would include a full steak entree. I probably wouldn't recommend going to Top of Waikiki for Valentine's Day dinner in the future.
The place was clean and the food was so good! The waiter was not as nice and could’ve been better but this was my friends first time in Hawaii and was our first date together. It was really good, I’d totally recommend it to other people. I like that it’s dressy, no board shorts or beach wear allowed.
When we moved here six years ago, this place was pretty bad. Since then, they have made some awesome changes to the menu; the menu is fantastic. If you are local, just enjoy the night views from here, you will not be disappointed. Malihini should come when they open at 5, see Waikiki while the sun is still out. Tip: the exit is always mauka from where you are sitting.
This was our splurge meal on a recent trip to Oahu. The food was very good and the view -- well, it's hard to beat the view from a revolving restaurant looking out onto Waikiki and west toward Honolulu. Just remember, you're paying for the experience as much as the food. Treat yourself and enjoy it!
We decided on the Top if Waikiki because of the view. What a way to celebrate your anniversary. The view is fantanstic, you cant even tell your rotating. I love that you get a 360 view of the city including the ocean.
Our waiter Dan was awesome and always checked on us. Gave great recommendations and our water was always filled by Alex. They were all very attentive.
For starters, we ordered the garlic shrimp, then we shared a ceasar salad. And for our main course, we both ordered the same, Filet Oscar which is a 6oz pan roasted beef tenderloin with butter-poached, merys-cut king crab legs, asparagus, and roasted red bliss potatoes, topped with veal juice and sauce bernaise. OMG THIS IS TO DIE FOR. We were both so happy. Lastly, our we ordered there Top of Waikiki Signature Apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
They were so nice to put our dessert on a plate that read, Happy Anniversary. We felt so special.
Everything was awesome! What an awesome choice place to celebrate a very apecial occasions!!!
Great atmosphere and service, and we got a spectacular view of the sunset. We were very pleased with the meat-based and vegetarian dishes, however, we would appreciate a vegan main course alternative that is more intentionally put together. The filter coffee (Illy) was weak and lacked flavor, so I would not recommend that. But overall a lovely dining experience.
This restaurant has been in operation for many years in Waikiki. Very popular 40 years ago when revolving restaurants were the rage. I dined in this restaurant 15 years ago, and thought the experience was not that great with the food being the main issue. However, in my most recent visit last Friday, it was again an amazing experience. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely superb! Each of us had a Caesar salad, crab cakes followed by a filet steak and apple pie for desert. The steak was complemented with a few glasses of good house wine as well. I would recommend anyone should try this restaurant again.
Food was very good as was service BUT it was an 8pm booking and half way through our mains the dessert menu was put on the table and the minute the first person had finished their main the plate was whisked away. Rather spoils the ambience when it is clear you are wanted out ASAP. My recommendation would be an earlier booking so more time could be taken over the meal.
The only reason we gave you a 4 star on one review was the lighting was in areas a little to dark to read menus? We noticed other patrons using mobile phones to read menu.
In saying that if that is the worst thing you have noting to worry about.
Loved it all from entry staff to cook bringing out our meals and describing how it was prepared with passion, Well done.
Avoid this place at all costs. We arrived half an hour early but were still made to wait for a table even though the restaurant was almost empty! We asked to be sat at the bar until our table was ready and they completely forgot about us. Then when I asked the bartender about our table she walked off and did nothing because she couldnt pronounce my last name! This place completely ruined my time in honolulu and I wish to god I hadnt wasted my time or money here!
I thought for the price, the salads are very expensive for how tiny the serving it was...
I suggest white table clothes not placemats that are rubber and cheap looking.. My sons steak was good. Alacart maybe a bit much concidering the prices are so high!
View was very nice.
Excellent food, excellent service, great views, and actually, a good value for the money. Yes it's a little pricey, but so are lots of restaurants in Waikiki. And with this one, you get great views, the service was excellent, and so was the food. The two of us had a drink, shared an appetizer, two entrees and shared a dessert for well under $200. I've stayed in Waikiki over a dozen times over the years but this is my first time at the Top of Waikiki Restaurant. I wish I would have tried it sooner.
This place is lovely for a romantic dinner, however the food was very overpriced. Although the food was great, they will get every dollar you have. I ordered a the Steak Entree for my GF that cost almost $50 but you have to separately purchase mashed potato which is another $7. Why not include a mashed potato on the steak entree? Again, the food was delicious but it is way overpriced. This restaurant should focused on making profit on drinks, not on food.
It was not bad , if your looking for a romantic scenery (casual) it’s a nice place to go. The place doesn’t rotate for a full view as you would think but the service is superior . I was hoping for maybe a anniversary cake or some sort of decoration but this place doesn’t offer that with your dessert. Oh well... food was good and the vibe was right.
