Tony's - St. Louis
Several gentlemen assisted us - water, bread, butter, wine, suggestions etc. awesome attention and yet not overwhelming. Very much an awesome experience.
The food and service was fabulous! We can’t wait to return!
Tony’s remains at the top of their game. Everything we had was exceptional. While it’s obviously very expensive in general I think you get what you pay for. My only complaint was that I think the cocktails were overpriced. $21 for a call brand whiskey sour seems excessive, particularly when it was heavy on the “sour”. But we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and were happy to find that Tony’s is still going strong.
Another great experience. I would say, not the old Tony’s of the past. I think since Vince passed away, the experience is not EXCEPTIONAL like it used to be. My opinion. Will still continue to visit for special occasions.
We took my daughter out for her 19th birthday. The service was top notch and the food was incredible. Great personalized extra touches to make her feel extra special. Can't wait for another special occasion so I can go back!
We were celebrating an anniversary and wanted some place special.
We chose Tony's and it exceeded our expectations
As always, Tony’s is the best for fine dining in STL. Beautiful setting, impeccable service., and the most delicious food. Always our go to place for celebrating a special occasion.
Tony's is outstanding in all areas of the dining experience. The food is excellent along with the service. A true treasure for St Louis.
Always excellent service and great food. We had a special night for my wife’s birthday and she was treated like a queen. Have never had a bad experience at Tony’s StLouis. Highly recommend this place.
If you are looking for a special place to celebrate a special day look no further than Tony's!
A great place for an elegant meal with family and friends. Wonderful food, service and wine list!
Another wonderful meal at Tony’s. The staff make you feel so welcome.
The food is amazing and the service is top notch.....we will be back next time we are in town!
Great dinner and great service. I recommend this to all
Really old fashioned, which can be quaint or dated depending on your outlook. Very quiet, almost stuffy. Food was just ok; none of our party was impressed. Service was very good.
Delicious food, fantastic service and tasteful decor. First time there but will definitely return. Appreciated the extras they gave us because we were celebrating our anniversary.
Drinks are way over priced, but the food is excellent.
Took my mother here for a special treat. Tony's did not disappoint. Food was excellent. It's not super innovative (though besides the items that they've had for years and years there were specials to shake things up a bit). But what Tony's does, it does really well. I would, for instance, rarely order a steak in a restaurant because I usually can do it as well at home. But the Filet Mignon at Tony's was absurdly delicious and perfectly cooked. Brown butter torte was the best dessert I've had in years.
Took a total of 3 hours which is too long. Steak was undercooked. Found a piece of paper (wrapper) in the linguine. Definitely better places around for the price.
We love the Restaurant. We have eaten at Tony's for more than 35 years. It doesn't disappoint.
Tony's is the standard for fine dining in downtown St. Louis. From the moment you are greeted at free valet parking until get up to leave, you are treated like royalty. The food is outstanding and finished at your table . The perfect restaurant for a special occasion.
Food was excelent. Fine dining at its best. Great service. Price is steep.
Overall a great dining experience.
Spectacular evening - Tony’s is a true St Louis treasure
One of the absolute best special occasion restaurants in St. Louis. Eating at this wonderful experience. Tony's is a St. Louis institution for a good reason.
Wonderful place to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary! Only downer, if you consider it that, was the tables are a little close.
Amazing historic restaurant. Best dessert I’ve ever had. Staff was experienced and friendly. Very fancy. Famous. The owner said hello to us and thanked us for visiting. Jimmy Carter, Frank Sinatra and many other famous people loved Tony’s. We agree. Made us an anniversary menu as well. To. Die. For.
Always good food and great service. A fine dining experience in every way.
Tonight, we had an anniversary dinner at Tony’s down town. We have heard great things about this place. The interior is pretty dated and the bathroom is dirty. However, the service was phenomenal. What you would expect at a white table cloth dinner. The food was good, not great. If your looking for the best steak in town its Citizen Kane’s. Period.
Outstanding service. Rarely found and much appreciated . Great wine selection.
Everything was perfect! Always is!
Our dinner experience at Tony’s was nice but honestly nothing to write home about. We had to wait almost 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table.
When we were seated it was hard not to notice how little privacy there was as we could clearly hear conversation between the two men on one side of us and the couple on the other. It was hard to even get in and out of the table without bumping into someone at another table. The ambiance really feels like a hotel dining room (the ceiling is old white title that’s been painted over) from the 80’s rather than an upscale restaurant.
The service was good but overly fussy about certain things and not attuned to others in a way you’d expect of a restaurant claiming to be at this level. Perhaps one of the most disappointing things is their total lack of enforcement of their dress code. We ate an anniversary meal sitting next to a man in khakis shorts and another woman in a hooded sweatshirt.
Our food was good but nothing stellar. Some things were overly salty while others were under seasoned and the veal was over cooked.
Overall, I would say it’s just not worth what you get for the price compared to other places in St. Louis.
Valet parking was top notch but it stopped there. Our waiter had no personality, no smiles, and short and curt answers. We overheard the waiter at the next table and they had many more choices than we did. Food and wine choices were great and I liked the final prep done tableside. Bread was very sub-par for a restaurant of this caliber plus we noticed a couple of gnats feasting on the bread so it was left un-touched. I was trying to impress my date on her birthday with a fantastic experience and put that on the reservation. Half way through the meal she was brought a food-stained menu that said Happy Birthday on the front. Yuck! After the meal, check was brought out and I told the waiter that most all restaurants we have gone to will bring out a small something to acknowledge the birthday-- he said "sorry, I forgot". This experience was a total disappointment when spending $200 for a meal.
I made a reservation to have dinner with a very dear friend I haven't seen in years. Neither of us are from St. Louis and were only there for the week. It was perfect, they food, the atmosphere and of course the company. I think I will take her back next year.
Cuisine is a marvelous as the attentive professional service.. from the greeting by the maitre'd to each waiter who seemed to have his own unique responsibility. Elegant and a memorable experience.
People were gracious and attentive but food was not that good. Bread and beet salad was delicious but the veal chop was undercooked and fatty. Not a good cut of meat for the cost.
Best dining experience you’ll have before a Cardinals game or any evening if you’re in town! We are from DC and glad I chose Tony’s. Service, quality of food all are on point!
The usual great food and fun. The (unusual) disappointment was a 45 minute wait, which would have easily been an hour if I hadn't been gently persistent. I also waited 20 minutes at the bar before anyone took my drink order and then another 20 for the sparkling water I ordered.
My wife is a foodie and I like her to get dressed up because she’s beautiful. So I satisfied both our needs by going to Tony’s. The food and service was excellent and you pay for what you get. I really appreciate the valet parking because I don’t want to deal with the parking downtown. If you have a special occasion then this is the place. We plan to come back!
Excellent service, delicious steaks and fresh pasta. Recommend the filet with the Chianti sauce and the Seafood Linguine. Had not been in 45 years but, even in its new location, is just a wonderful night out!
What a delight, to uncover this gem on our recent visit. It was a pleasure to enjoy this dining experience.
Consistent quality and superb attention to detail for decades. This is the best Italian restaurant in the United States... hands down.
Simply put there's a reason why they've been the best in St Louis for so long. Go see for yourself!
