We had lunch at Tony's prior to going to the theatre. The portions are huge - be prepared to share. We loved the caprese salad and also the eggplant parmesan - some of the best we have had. The eggplant was obviously very fresh, as were the tomatoes in the salad. The restaurant is in the middle of the theatre district off Times Square and very convenient to grab a bite before or after a show. The atmosphere is happy and noisy - everyone seems to be having a great time. The wine list was appropriate for the restaurant - very good Italian restaurant.
We had a great time the food was excellent the waitress was spot on. Will come again
Too loud - could not have a conversation at our table ( was in the basement). Nice caprese but lingiuni with clams in white sauce was not even remotely eatable. Send it back and asked for the bill. On a positive note their head waiter came to ask why and we were not charged for the meal.
The broccoli over pasta was bland.
Awesome time and great service, we were there for a b day and they made it special
Awesome place!!! Great service , exceptional food, proportio s are excellent . Highly recommended. We will definitely be back on our next trip to nyc.
Good food and good service. This was my second time here and I enjoyed it both times.
My girlfriend and I went here for Saturday Dinner (March 17/2018).
We ordered the mix seafood pasta and let me tell you it was one of the most delicious seafood dishes I have ever eaten. Very good. Generous amount of seafood.
We also ordered two glasses of wine, which was also very tasty.
Waiter was helpful and friendly.
Atmosphere was family friendly.
We will go back.
Excellent highly recommend
Dritan was great, excellent service!
Good food, family style, comparable to Carmine’s near by.
My whole family enjoyed our dinner here very much. Everything was delicious and the service was great!
Shrimp Parmigiana was terrific and so was the service. The only thing you have to prepare for is the noise level, as it is very high. It actually helps, because table placement is pretty close, so it keeps others out of your conversation. The pasta was perfectly prepared and the house wines were a fine choice if you don't want or need a bottle.
Great experience-made late reservation-was taken back with no waiting at a very busy and crowded time. Service was smoothe and not rushed. Drinks and food excellent-had stuffed mushrooms and seafood pasta which were enough for 3-4 and tasted great. Will Def return.
We visit every year when we visit New York and always enjoy the food and experience. We were glad we booked ahead this time as the restaurant was packed on arrival but our table was ready and waiting. We also remark it is best to have many others along as the platters are better suited to larger groups than couples, but we return again and again for the food and nostalgia.
Whenever we come to the city, Tony’s is a must do on our list of restaurants. The kids( 12,15,18) love everything and can’t wait to come back. Consistently delicious with great service, a little noisy but is to be expected in a family style restaurant.
It was good. I thought the calamari was chewy. We did not know the pasta was extra. We thought it came with the dinner. It is so much food we did not need the extra pasta. It is a very loud and fun place. Do not go when you are tired like we did. We will go back
Girls night out
We had an excellent experience & dinner before heading to the theater. There were 4 in our group: two gluten-free & two not. Our waitress was very helpful, patient & accommodating as we tried to figure out how to eat at a family-style restaurant with our limitations. Many of their pasta dishes can be made gluten-free and you can't even tell the difference. The broccoli and roasted potatoes are delish, too!
Incredible calamari and eggplant rollatini. We also had the squid ink pasta which was great pasta but mussels and clams were gritty. Fab service and nice super Tuscan by the glass
Excellent service. Great food portion
Great food, very loud but that should be expected given its location. Would def go back
This was truly the best Italian experience ever! The food, atmosphere and service were amazing !
Di Napoli was a circus when I ate there. The staff was friendly and helpful but little could be done to lower the decible level of a neighboring table of seemingly drunken men each shouting to be heard over the crowd and each other. The service is family style and any entree order is enough for two adults. Our entrees were good but unsophisticated; there is nothing subtle about the place. I enjoyed a good, cold draft Moretti. The coffee and beer are reasonably priced, as are entrees once you take their abundance into account. The noise made the dinner hour truly unpleasant; the staff, while unpolished, went some part of the way to make up for that.
Great food for sharing! Larger than life portions.
I brought a group of 17 year old students to NYC. The best time they had was their experience at Tony's. The Service! The Food! The Atmosphere! It was a wonderful time and the food was fabulous. Great Memory and I will be back next year with a new group of students!
Had a reservation for 6pm but didn't get seated until close to 6:30. We had theater tickets so it cut it a bit close for us. Food was amazing but was a little disappointed in the portions. Server told us that the food was family style but we had to order more of 2 of our choices because there wasn't enough to go around. The chicken francese was 4 pieces cut in half to make 8. The 4 pieces were small to average in size. We loved the special of the day which was a ravioli with ricotta and bacon inside. Yum! Our server was great. We told her that since we were seated a bit later that we needed to leave by 7:45 to make our show. She made sure we had our appetizer, drinks and meals in a quick and efficient manner. We were out on time and arrived on time for our play! Would definitely recommend dinner here. You will not be disappointed.
We eat here very often before the theatre and always love it. We were so disappointed with our table and more important the waiter....he was terrible....the food was just okay this time...we will try the restaurant again as we have always liked it alot....it does make a difference where you sit and WHO serves you..makes or breaks a meal....this time it was really broken....Tuesday, March 6 at 6:00. We had a reservation...and were seated in the front side of the restaurant across from the bar, it was very loud and the waiter was horrendous....
Huge portions! My gluten free pasta was fantastic!
The service was painfully slow. Almost an hour to get our salad, then another 30 minutes to get food. Our waiter said the kitchen was slow, but 2 tables with large groups immediately around us served by him arrived, were served and left before our table of 4 was even served our food.
Great! Lots of fun
Very helpful and friendly hostess.
Rob the waiter was fun and energetic.
Food was excellent !!!
Always a great time at Tony's
Food and service is always awesome.
The place and food is AMAZING! The staff is very courteous and helpful. The food is EXCELLENT. The deserts are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Tony DiNapoli's will be the only restaurant that we go to when we are in the city. I am so happy that we gave it a try.
I went with family members after catching a Sunday matinee theater production. The food is delicious; the portions are ample and the service is warm and attentive. My nephew is autistic. Our waiter was kind and very responsive to our requests. It is the third time I have taken my nephew to Tony DiNapoli’s and I have never been disappointed. I have also taken my grandchildren ages 12 and 7 as well as grabbing a bite with dear friends. If you want to feel like you’re with family, go to Tony DiNapoli’s.
Perfect as always
Very good, food was very good, waitress was on top of her game. Pleased with our dinner
Our first time at Tony's and we will return! We shared the single servings of delicious eggplant parmesean and the excellent house salad and had plenty (it looked like it was the family style). Make reservation ahead--it was very popular and busy for good reasons.
Great restaurant for small groups of four or more. Need enough people to share the portions which are huge. Great way to sample multiple dishes. Breadth of menu has options for everyone. Service was very efficient. Very easy to have a 4-5 star meal for $25-30 per person (excluding beverage). Be sure to try fried zucchini. Wish it were available for shipment.
