Tony's Di Napoli - Midtown
Nice and noisy restaurant with good food at "reasonable" price in New York
A fabulous family style restaurant with excellent food. Access to the bar upon arrival was easy. Bartender handled large orders with efficiency. We were seated almost immediately with a party of 11. The service and quality of food, again excellent. Highly recommended.
Made reservation open table. Was seated within 10 minutes of arrival!! Service was excellent and food is always delicious!! Will be back
Fantastic, food was amazing, service was incredible only issue was it was loud!
Pre-theater dinner could not be a more convenient location. Delicious food is served family style with platters to serve 2-3. Service was excellent. Would definitely return.
Food and drinks are a bit "PRICEY" but it's worth every dime. Our waitress PATTY was wonderful. Ww'll be back the next time we see a show.
The food was amazing but the waiter was very rude and disrespectful to our party.
Looked great until they seated us in the basement. That was a huge disappointment.
Huge portions but the servers make sure you know that and order appropriately. Food was delicious and the servers were personable and efficient. Great atmosphere and overall a lovely experience.
Great family style food, and plenty of it. We ordered 2 dishes for 4 people and ended up with take home. PS the bread Rocks!
Fantastic food, one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
On Saturday, September 14th, 2019, I had the pleasure of dining at Tony Di Napoli’s with my wife, Katherine Alleyne Harris.
I brought and treated my wife Kat and myself at Tony’s to celebrate Kat’s birthday and we had a wonderful dining experience!!!
Our meal was huge and absolutely delicious and our waitress, Robin was top notch. She made us feel comfortable and relaxed and attended to our every needs.
Robin also help to celebrate Kat’s birthday by bringing us Kat’s cake, taking great pictures and singing Happy Birthday!!!
Our experience at Tony’s Dinapoli was unbelievably wonderful and we recommend that all restaurant patrons visit and dine there!!!
We put my Wife’s and 7 year old sons Bday on the Open Table Notes BUT NO ONE acknowledged it!
I asked for the Check at the end of the meal.
We had time constraints because we were going to the Empire State Building. After I asked for the Check from our Server, I got up and went to the Host Stand to find a Mgr.
I asked him if he saw the Open Table Notes staying the two Bdays and if they did anything Special for the occasion.
He said they did receive the notes but they only put a candle on a requested dessert for us. He then offered to make things right and bought us the Bday Cheesecake Dessert which was truly outstanding. I’m disappointed though that a restaurant of this caliber ignored our notes and didn’t even acknowledge our Special Dinner until I got up and asked about it just before we left. Unacceptable.
Also, we were torn between getting the Family Style Ziti either plain or with Bolognese. The Server told us she could ask the Chef if he could do Half of Each (One Half Ziti and One Half Ziti with Bolognese.
The Server came back and said the Chef said he could make it happen BUT she failed to tell us it would be a $9.00 Upcharge to make it a $38 entree compared to a $29 Ziti Entree. Even if it was all Bolognese it would have been $32. The Server should have mentioned the Upcharge ahead of time and gave us the Option of what we wanted to do. Instead we felt Gouged.
It’s not the $9.00 it’s the Principle of the Manner.
The Manager agreed the Server should have told us this upfront BUT the Mgr still left the added $9.00 on the Check.
We Loved the Food and the Mgr was very nice BUT ignoring our Special Occasion for both members of our family AND creating unnecessary Sticker Shock on our Check were TWO problems that should have NEVER occurred. Only the Free Bday Cheesecake with candle solved one issue BUT the Gouging was never fixed and completely ignored even by the Mgr.
We probably won’t be back.
Really great service and place is hopping! Huge portion sizes so don’t get too greedy!
If you are in NYC. Be sure that Tony DiNapolis is one of your stops
Food is amazing!
Our favorite Italian in midtown. Great value with great food.
My biggest complaint is this restaurant tries to pass off penne pasta a ziti pasta lol total joke. They have a baked ziti Bolognese , sounds good but you won't get the ziti and barely any bolognese . Most people probably don't notice and if you do they try to say it's ziti . 100% lie BS . I walked in here 1 hour prior to my reservation and asked for a particular row of the restaurant for when my guests arrive and was told no problem , when they arrived i was put somewhere else . My advice when that happens just leave , it'll be downhill from that point usually. It was not hot outside but the air condition was blowing non-stop hardcore. They did turn it down but come on people had coats on if you had great management skills you would notice that and not want guests uncomfortable. I hate when a restaurant is ignorant and they lie to your face.
Awesome food. Helpful waiter. Great prices. Who could ask for anything more!
The noise level is deafening!!!! Not kidding —
You really cannot have a conversation
So if you want decent red sauce Italian and don’t want to talk to your companion diners , this is the place for you !!! Your food will also come to your table quicker than a fast food joint !!!
All that said the food is pretty decent —
Portions are huge family style, good for lunch leftovers or to share!
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back soon.
All good but bussing staff were too aggressive and one dropped a knife with tomato sauce on my white Armani pants and your manager had to reduce my bill. Need to rethink how you manage bussers
Eggplant parmigiana - eggplant was not properly cooked - still hard - linguini stuck together - overcooked - sauce was not very tasty - it tasted as if the food had been precooked and just put quickly in the oven to finish off - not worth the money
Great service and great food.
This is a must eat for us when we’re in NYC! The service could be a little better but you can’t beat the food and atmosphere!
Family-style so be prepared to eat a lot! My wife and I had Chicken Parm and rigatoni bolognese. Both were fantastic! We'll be going back - but we'll bring more eaters!!
Old school heavyweight Italian. We ordered three dishes for six people and had leftovers.
The server Dennis was professional, attentive, kind, thorough, and fast.
The wait staff is always very friendly, and yet, gets your food to you with no problem
Very good as always. A little noisy upstairs. Chicken parm was a little dry. Shrimp was outstanding!
Very loud!! Service and food was very good.
Great food and service. It's a bit loud, so don't expect a quiet restaurant.
Post theatre dinner
This is a fun family place. We had a great server and outstanding food. It is a bit touristy but is still fun. We will definitely return.
It wasn't our first time there but it will certainly be our last ! Very poor experience. Server tried her best but the food was just awful. The meatballs were soooo overcooked, like they had been sitting in the kitchen for hours and re-heated in the microwave, there was grit in the baked clams and the broccoli raab was completely inedible, tough and stringy. All the dishes were sparse and not in the "Family Style" that they claim so we all stopped for Pizza after we left ! They sat 6 of us at a table for 8 which was way too big and so we could not even hear each other talking because we were not next to each other.
Sadly, this place get's crossed off my list.....
Food always good. Too noisy. Good for groups. Service was fast. Party of four including 7 year old finished in 30 minutes.
Great place will go again
Our server, Caesar, was superb! Food was delicious.
