Very very limited menu. Our fault for not checking the menu before hand but we were expecting The Tony Roma’s menu added to Fire Grill but that was not the case. Only about 10 entrees offered total and nothing really caught our eye. We both had a beer and bowl of Potato Soup, which was very good, but we left so we could have dinner elsewhere.
We've been here a few times this week as we are staying in the hotel this restaurant is connected to. They do NOT open until 3pm and they prefer you make a reservation. This place has a happy hour which is nice. Unfortunately, I found out last night (7:15pm) that unless you are seated AT the bar or at one of the 2 the high top tables (still considered the bar), you aren't able to order ANY of the "lunch/happy hour" menu food items. I wanted to order the prime rib tacos (which is ONLY on the happy hour menu) but was told I couldn't order them unless I was seated at the bar (the bar was busy so we were seated at a table). I wasn't looking for the happy hour price, I just enjoyed the tacos from the previous visit (at a high top table) and wanted them but our server said we couldn't. My husband even suggested he walk up to the bar just to order them but was told he would not be served that way. Just seems silly to me that a restaurant doesn't want to sell food.
I ended up ordering the filet mignon (which I had ordered 1 other time, on our first night here and didn't enjoy(AND I LOVE FILET MIGNON). Not much flavor to the steak and the balsamic isn't great) at medium temperature which arrived at almost rare. I HATE sending food back but it's a $50 steak, I have to be able to eat it and I can't do rare.🤮 The menu doesn't have a whole lot of options so I went with what I knew. Overall, dinner was not great but it was convenient when my husband got back from working late and we really didn't want to leave the area of the hotel. There are other options in close proximity to the hotel which we will definitely be going to before we return to this restaurant for the sake of convenience.
Made the reservation a month in advance, was seated and was very disappointed to find that the restaurant was out of all the meat. This information was only told to us an hour into the meal after we had ordered two making the entire dinner experience
The prime rib was amazing... Well worth the visit to waikiki.
The visit brought back nostalgic memories of Tomy Romas! Had to eat some of the baby back ribs. But the lamb chop special for Valentines Day was "8 of 10" according to my son! A somewhat limited menu - probably due to COVID.
Keawe smoke prime rib was off the hook
You just can't beat the Tony Roma's ribs and slaw, and the onion brick. Well, I just did! I beat it by eating that while watching Super Bowl. The staff was really good about safety protocols. Patrons respected the distancing and mask wearing if they got up from their seats. You can view the tv over the bar very nicely from the booths on the other side of the room. Service was great. Our server kept us updated on when our order was put in (we started with drafts and onion loaf with our meal to follow). We almost got the prime rib but thought $65 was a little hefty. Stick with the pupus and regular fare and you won't be disappointed (that is not to say that you'd be disappointed if you got the $65 prime rib--I just don't know).
Looked like Tony Romo ribs but not even close in taste. I was psyched to enjoy and for the first time ever left half a rack. Hi
Can’t say enough about this place. Jus trust me and go there!
It was a pleasant surprise to find that Tony Romas ribs were offered as part of the menu. That made the meal much more enjoyable as we thought Tony Romas in Waikiki was a thing of the past.
Our server was very helpful because it was our first time dining there. I was so happy to have Tony Romas baby back ribs (they only had baby back from original Tony Romas) again. My son ordered the smoked prime rib and said it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their orders. We will definitely be back for more.
Christmas Date Night. The food was okay. We started with the clams and it was probably the best part of the night. The ribs were warm like they had been zapped in the micro wave and the mushroom risotto was plain and surprisingly chewy. Overall service was fine
Thank you for your feedback about foods. And apologize for your disappointment for curtain food items. We will make sure your message will be delivered to the chef and will inspect food cooking procedure and consistency. Your message is very important for us to improve!
It was a splendid experience, the food was superb. My prime rib was to die for and melted in my mouth like a lollipop. It was divine. It changed my life. It was a taste like no other. It was top notch. Oh and the service? Super sweet, as they reminded us to not forget our umbrella. I almost did. The waiter was really attentive and he changed our utensils without hesitation when he accidentally dropped them. We came on a rainy Christmas night, and this experience will never be forgotten (unless I get amnesia). Thank you so very indeed much.
Thank you for your wonderful comments about your dinning experience. It is please to hear your enjoyed one of our signature dish. We will make sure your comment is delivered to our chef and service leadership team. We are looking forward to seeing you again next time!
The restaurant was nice and the cleaning and distancing procedures made you feel safe. With the closure of the Tony Roma’s restaurant, they moved the ribs menu to TR’s. The “problem” is that you now have $30 ribs mixed with $85 prime rib on the menu. We had the prime rib and it was excellent. But not worth $85 in a casual dining restaurant. (And $85 is over priced in a fine dining steak house).
Thank you for your feed back. We sincerely received your message. Your comment will help for our future menu development and determine a best value price for all guests. We really appreciate giving us 5 star review.
Shane took great care of us. The food was terrific. We'll be back
We had one very helpful server and another one that seemed really put out with our requests. We were asked, for example, if we wanted all the items we ordered served together, or our onion loaf first. We both replied .."everything together, thank you!" A third server delivered the onion loaf and we said - oh we ordered it all together and she said "Well, do you want it now or not. It would be nice to have it now so you can enjoy it until your meal comes...and it's coming out soon." We accepted it figuring we might as well eat it while it was hot as have it go back and sit unitl the rest of our order was ready. Staff was thoughtful by checking in if we needed anything when they were in our vicinity, but had to get up and find someone twice to ask for salt and ketchup. Just inconsistent but I think it might have been too many servers and not communicating well.
Hi, thank you for your comments about our service. It is definitely helping for us to determine what the core problem was. We will share your message with our service leadership team and will seek a future improvement.
Highly do not recommend. Staffs were busy chatting offering free alcohol and coupons to another guest. Brought us the wrong order the first time. Our meat we asked for medium rare and received the meat burnt and over cook. Strawberry lemonade wasnt even strawberry. Waiting very long to get our check, when receiving our check no one was around to take our money. Wait over 15 minutes to the point we had to give exact cash amount. Of course when you see us walking you hurry and wanted to make sure the money was exact. We didnt even care to watch her count the money. Not happy with the fact that 18% tip was automatically added. We should have the option to tip or not since service and food was not great at all. Way too over price for something that's not worth. DO NOT waste your time here. This is my first time doing a review in my life. That's how disappointing it was.
steak was tasty.
I love this place.
I'll visit again. I really like your food.
Prime rib was great. It is a great place for a group dinner. Maybe I’ll come back for Happy hour next
I was so happy to prepare a birthday cake when I told them that there was a birthday person in advance. Thank you very much.
Great prime rib and
Slow service, not professional in many ways, close early for waikiki
Went to Fire Grill to celebrate my fiancé birthday and the staff made it a memorable one! The service was excellent and the food was Onolicious! Would return again and will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends (actually did on social media!) Thank you, Fire Grill for making our trip to Waikiki worth it!
Food was delicious but the service wasn’t wonderful. Granted it was New Year’s Eve so staffing might have been lower than normal, but beginning with getting our table (we arrived at our reservation time and then sat at the bar to have a drink while they bussed the table, but 30 mins later hadn’t called ue
This was our first time dinning at TR Fire Grill. We picked the restaurant for the convenience as we were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. We wanted a nice meal prior to attending New Years Eve celebrations. We were not disappointed! We were seated quickly and welcomed warmly. Our favorite drink, Old Fashions, were brought quickly as well as dinner. Dinner was surf and turf with the Prime Rib smoked deliciously. Definitely would return for another meal.
Truth... poor seating area in the food service area ! Yuk! Dirty area !!may be other areas that are nicer in the restarant. Food was excellent but no choices for kids. Very expensive.
Menu had recently changed from what was posted on OpenTable, so had to adjust to smaller, more expensive menu. Had 10 oz. Filet...good, not great. Also had seared scallops appetizer...small for price, in our opinion.
It took about 40 minutes to get our food after ordering. Over all experience was OK...nothing terrible, nothing excellent.
