This place has gone down over the past few years, terrible service over a two hour wait period for sub par over priced cold food.
This was a wonderful experience....the service was excellent and the ambiance was excellent.
Prices were different and misleading on the webisite to the menu at the restaurant. I told the waiter and didn’t honor any pricing. Valentines Dinner was a flop. I spent $200 and will not be recommending any of my friends or family.
Always a great experience. Service and food!
The food was amazing but the service was even better. I will go back OFTEN.
First, best raw oysters I’ve ever had. All entrees were excellent! Our waiter, Walter, was awesome! Thanks for the great service!
4 of us had dinner reservation before a show at Stages. Food and service were very good. Ambience provides a relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. Great bar service.
Great food and service
Service was a bit slow, but the food was excellent. The salmon was perfect. My wife had a different fish and she raved to me about it. The key lime pie was tops, All totaled, it was a great experience.
Very good food but pretty pricy for what you are getting
Tony Mandola's had good food and service. Prices were high, but the experience was generally good.
We were having a small luncheon for a coworker's 35 year service anniversary...told the restaurant ahead of time...but they did nothing special...not even a dessert or something special on the table.
Off night for the service, but excellent meal as always.
Another wonderful meal pre-theatre. Our go-to spot on theatre night. Server Fallon was terrific as usual. I order an off-the-menu item, Snapper Phyllis, which is a piece of blackened fish covered with shellfish and a great butter sauce. I also love Sopa-Tomas and Oysters Damian. My Missus had the wonderful fired shrimp.
I find that your menu has changed. It is quite limited. My husband and I enjoyed the fish & seafood, but our friends anted chicken or maybe veal. We go there because of Stages theater and its close proximity.
My friend and I went to Tony Mandola's to have a combined birthday and late Christmas celebration. We were seated at a great table and were provided with excellent service. Both of us selected Snapper Martha and it was delicious as was the Banana Key Lime pie dessert that we both enjoyed.
I apologize for not remembering the name of the server but he and the support staff provided excellent service. Because my friend and I had a lot to catch upon, we lingered but at no time did I feel that the staff wanted us to hurry up and vacate the table. So we enjoyed a very excellent and leisurely lunch.
My friend and I exchanged presents so we had a lot of gift paper to dispose. The server was very nice and told us not to worry about it and that the staff would handle the disposal.
It was a truly memorable meal and experience.
The heater was out that night, but we put our wraps around us and I had the BEST dirty martini that I have ever had. We were dressed for a cold night on the town.
Dinner was superb.
The staff was professional, friendly and helpful.
The owner came over to chat and ask about our experience.
We WILL return and soon.
Excellent restaurant in every way. Didn’t think it could match the West Gray location but it did, and more.
As always, outstanding food and good service. This place has been and remains a personal favorite
Enjoyed the evening but was disappointed in table selection after we had advised this was a 75th birthday celebration. Food was good but table selection not good after driving in from Cypress.
Great place for business. Service and food are always great, place is clean and quite.
Great for lunch but make a reservation. I love the calamari Allan mamma. Also fresh, great fish and daily specials.
My husband Bruce and I love Tony Mandola's. Due to the heritage of the proprietor's family, the food satisfies lovers of Italian/New Orleans Seafood/Mexican cuisines. With us being from New Orleans, it is a natural go-to place for our favorite types of seafood dishes but it also satisfies our Italian cuisine cravings. Family members from out of town love the Mexican inspired dishes.
The service is excellent - attentive without being intrusive. It is also an elegant restaurant without being stuffy. It is a go-to place for our birthdays, and if we are in town for our anniversary, it is where we go for dinner.
The desserts are excellent, especially the chocolate torte and key lime pie.
GREAT FAVORITE FROM WAY BACK - GREAT OWNER FAMILY AND STAFF!
New Year’s Eve and Tony’s was super busy. Even so, we were seated right away and enjoyed a delicious meal and outstanding service. The stuffed shrimp is our favorite entree and the crab cakes are incredible. It was a great way to close out 2018.
Food is always good and our waiter Spencer was excellent.
Always a pleasant experience here. Tim did a great job serving our table. Calamari ala mama always a favorite. Scallops were outstanding as was the drunken shrimp.
Terrific food from the appetizers to the main course and just the right amount of quality service!
you need to try mama's gumbo and her bread pudding...
Festive atmosphere for our family Christmas Eve dinner. They were very accommodating when I had to add an extra person - and then called another time to add a toddler and high chair! Our waiter was familiar with the menu and knew about the chicken and pasta dish I was used to ordering which was no longer listed on the menu. It wasn't a problem for them to prepare. We always enjoy coming here for the service and food and this busy night was no exception!
The food and personal service the restaurant has provided during each of my visits has been outstanding. The chocolate cake, which is an off the menu item is outstanding. Spencer and Tim are great servers and Blake is an excellent GM.
Entire experience was welcoming. Hosts were smiling, Andrew, our waiter, was fun and thoughtful about the timing of everything. The Oysters Rockefeller were delicious, up there with New Orleans’ best. My halibut was perfectly cooked. And the bread pudding vanished. It was perfection, probably the best in Houston.
I love this neighborhood gem!
Have been a loyal follower of Tony Mandola's for over 20 years. I am hopeful the Lorrenzo's will find a way to keep the charm and great food.
Enjoyed the happy hour, oysters on half shell and dinner before going to Stages for a performance. So convenient and well located along with great service.
We thought Tony Mandola's was great and we had great service! I would definitely recommend.
We always love Tony Mandola seafood and every time we go we ask ourselves why we don’t go more often. Superb service ambience an outstanding food.
Not impressed 😢 with the seafood 🦞 service was great...maybe a bit to much!
The food was delicious and the ambiance was very nice. The service was excellent.
I like the food and service. Wife doesn’t like the ambiance.
