Tony D's is a trendy pizzeria that also offers traditional Italian dishes. The restaurant is popular for its authentic signature pizzas. It makes each one from scratch using only fresh and high quality ingredients. The ambiance at Tony D's is modern, vibrant and sleek with a young and trendy atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a full-service bar where guests can enjoy their favorite drinks.
Begin the meal with an appetizer like marinated meatballs cooked in a classic red sauce, crispy calamari served with house special sauce or the shrimp scampi. Diners are welcome to create their own pizzas at Tony D's. Topping options include tomatoes, onions, peppers, chicken, beef, shrimp, crab and more. Guests can also dig into an entree like penne a la vodka or the pan roasted veal rib chop.
Our food was delicious- very authentic Italian. Service was awesome; the only drawback is the noise level. So very loud it’s hard to carry on a conversation. We asked for a table on the patio where it wasn’t as noisy, and they were all filled. Again the food was delicious, but too plentiful!
Good food. Expensive for lunch. Parking can be a hassle.
Food was great and so was the service. Prices are a bit high but not crazy.
Waitress was very attentive and friendly. She memorized all the specials really well. Food was delicious and good portion sizes for the cost.
Enjoyed our evening here. Great atmosphere, enjoyed the food. Although the service was not horrible, I felt that our waiter felt a bit overwhelmed. all else was really good!
It was our first time there. Our waitress Angela was fantastic. The food was amazing. The only down side was it was so loud we had a hard time hearing each other.
I made an res and they made us wait for like a 35 minutes! And then forgot our table and I had to ask for a waiter
This was my second time dining at Tony D's. It was an amazing night celebrating a colleague's new employment opportunity/promotion with another company. Gain for the new company, loss for us! Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The menu was amazing and there was also so many specials. It was quite difficult to decide. Our waitress was excellent when it came to making suggestions when we were torn on what appetizers to order and she provided entree recommendations based on our tastes and/or dietary needs. The food was piping hot when it was brought to our table which is always A+ in my book. The only downside was the parking. There were large construction vehicles in the parking lot that were taking up spaces because they had not yet finished their work day. However, Tony D's does offer valet parking which was very helpful. By the time the rest of our party arrived, the construction equipment had been moved which made more parking spots available. Overall, the ambiance was perfect for us to share laughs and wish our colleague well on her new adventure.
Start to finish this was a superb dining experience for our 33rd anniversary. Highly recommend it and we are going back. Even brought my wife and I a cannoli to share as a gift for the occasion.
Everything was great. I sat at bar while waiting for my boss and I could tell they have a regular crowd and the staff knew them. That’s always a good first sign. For dinner we each ordered one of the specials and they were terrific. Portions were large, service was knowledgeable and attentive. Perfect
We reserved a table outside and when we got there we were told they don’t honor those reservations and it was first come, first served. So why take reservations?!
Great Food--Friendly Staff and Service. A Business meeting that was at a great location. The Staff was extremely attentive. One of the few great restaurants left in the Rochester Business District.
Relative to what I saw on Yelp and Open Table Tony D’s menu seemed very limited. There were fairly extensive pizza selections, sandwiches and apps but pasta options and main courses were few, relative to other italian restaurants. With a fetish for pasta I tried the special - pasta shells, sausage and veggies. The portions were huge but there was an imbalance in the portion of pasta and sausage to many veggies. The dish seemed hearty but very busy that left the pasta and sausage a bit lost. That said we ordered wings as an app which were really great.
Jenna provided fine service but the restaurant filled quickly (our res was for 6) and she seemed a bit over worked toward the end.
Overall, Tony D’a is a decent place to dine but not necessarily a special occasion destination.
Great place! Awesome service bar to table ! One of Rochester’s best for sure
It was really great. Only minor complaint is that the waiter didn't tell you the price of the specials. The food is very reasonably priced, so I assumed my special would be also. The special I ordered ended up being significantly more than I expected. That being said it was REALLY good, so again this is a very minor complaint.
Amazing food, amazing waiter, 5 star
Will definitely go back!!
This place is worth every dollar amount. I was so happy with everything on the menu
To celebrate my birthday, our family chose Tony D's - the quality of the food is always excellent, the service fantastic, and the view is beautiful. It didn't disappoint. My son got pizza which was delicious, my daughter chose the Cavatelli which was huge, the shrimp were tender and the pasta perfectly cooked. My husband loves the chicken marsala, and I opted for the steak special which was one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Delicous!
Enjoyed the Caesar salad. Pleasant waiter. Took a very long time to receive our entrees, had to ask for it and waiter apologized. Lasagna was overcooked and dry. Linguine and Clams were overpowered by garlic, clams were tough, and bowl was overfilled.
Food and service was absolutely fabulous! I was a little worried about the noise level as I read in other reviews and though it was loud, we were seated away from the bar, which was helpful. Coming earlier to eat (we came at 5:15) also helped since the place wasn’t very full at all during that time. I absolutely recommend the penne vodka and the lemon cake!!
Food and service was amazing, our waitress was great! But damn it was so loud, you couldn't have a conversation with the person next to you!
The food was over the top. The Eggplant tower was Great!
The seafood fried Diablo is an absolute favorite! Great wine list by the glass. This is a must try restaurant in the Rochester area.
It was great! The only thing I would suggest is to let people know if you're reserving an outside table you will only get it if it's available when you arrive. Don't expect it.
They were crazy busy for a Sunday night before Memorial Day. Soft-shell crab was delicious although a bit over done. Arancini was to die for and they accommodated by making four for our group, normally 3 per order. Our dinner ran very late because they lost the order in the craziness of the night and comped three desserts to share because of the wait. (All delicious) Dinner was OK - shrimp pasta dish, bland - but fresh tasting, fresh pasta - good. Pressed sandwiches were cold in the middle, but ample and still enjoyed. I believe because they were trying to rush the order out. Penne all Vodka was good, but pricy for what it is. Will return - server was great!
The evening was very worthwhile. Tasty food with plenty to take home. Service was superb. The only issue was the noise level. There was so much that it was hard to carry on a conversation with my wife sitting across the table. It was a Saturday nite so we will try it again on a week night to see if there is a difference.
Consistently good meal and service! One of my favorite spots.
The only thing that was wrong is the speaker overhead was way to loud! Folks had to yell to hear or understand what a person was saying, making the noise level emend higher.
Definitely some of the best food in the city of Rochester
Got reservations and was seated at the chefs table. Very unusual. Was also told that when we asked to switch tables that we had to be done within an hour and a half which is fine but there were numerous open tables. Not the best experience for a restaurant that we had high expectations for.
Loved sitting by the river feeling like we weren't even in Rochester anymore! Our server was excellent! She knew the menu and specials very well and was attentive but not intrusive. She was very helpful and smiling! Food was delicious, especially the scallops in the "special".
I despise getting servers who are not warm and friendly. They are there, it is obvious, to just make a buck. With Cooking, and i am a cook, I put my heart into it and everyone can see it.. to send a meal out with a server who isn't as passionate about the dish is where the meal is bombed! Try training your staff to actually smile and show that they are happy to serve you.. other than that, it was good food.
We felt it extremely loud for a fine dining establishment. Steak special was very good but $48 was more than expected. I should have asked the price. Service was lukewarm and “necessary polite” but no attempt to do anything more than he had to. My date asked for “light lemon” on shrimp dish but was still too lemony. Big bill for an average experience.
My favorite Rochester restaurant. Out of town vendors are always so impressed! Aranchini, meatballs and greens/beans are out of this world.
Noise level is terrible so very difficult to have any conversation. We had a nice table by the windows for a great view. Have been here many times for food that can really WOW you. If I was to return would recommend going very early for a better experience. Our reservation was 6pm and no wait for our table. Service is excellent.
Headache level noisy environment unless it summertime and it’s open air. I’ve eaten here four time and can’t find anything on menu that I enjoy.
Valet is very nice.
My last visit.
Tony D's is my go to place in Rochester. The food is excellent and so is the staff/service. The zuppa is my alltime favorite along with the chicken wings.
Service was great, very loud place but it was fun. The food was great.
I was surprised at how busy they were for a Sunday early evening. Because of the large crowd, it was very noisy and nearly impossible to carry on a conversation over the table. The food, however, was excellent; all three of us loved our meals. Service, in general, seemed very good around the room, however, our particular waiter was a bit lax in returning to our table to follow up on our meals and drinks. He took our order but then never came back again until after we had finished our meals. Another server brought our food and yet another person came once to refill our water glasses. No one ever inquired as to the quality of our meals or if we needed any more drinks. The quality of the food made up for the lack of service.
Love this restaurant ! We went with friends this last visit and had a great experience !
I bring all my out of town business associates here for dinner - why you ask - because of the great food, exceptional atmosphere, service and they even pour a fabulous cocktail !
I have closed more business deals at dinner here then anywhere else, it’s probably just me,
but thanks Tony D’s !!
