Tony Chan is an upscale downtown restaurant that serves contemporary Asian cuisine in spacious surroundings, complemented by a lovely view of the Biscayne Bay. Helmed by Chef Wai K. Li, the restaurant’s menu features classic Japanese and Cantonese fare, including sushi, dumplings, rice and noodle dishes, lamb and seafood. Tony Chan’s most popular menu item is the Peking duck, which comes deboned and stir-fried with fresh vegetables. Diners also rave about the dim sum menu, the Chilean sea bass and the General Tso chicken. Happy hour specials run Mondays to Fridays at the bar.

Tucked within the Doubletree Grand Hotel lobby, Tony Chan is a popular pick for many of the visitors to the bay. Its spacious dining area combined with an extensive menu and an award-winning wine list, makes it an ideal pick for group dining or a romantic date.

Food was below par. This restaurant use to have excellent food. Not anymore. Soup and appetizer was fine. Main dishes were horrible. $13 for a cheap margarita did not help

Good food, excellent service. Sara was a gem. We appreciate her friendliness and care. The restaurant is near a reception hall or party venue of some sort. The noise from the dance music was extremely unpleasant.

Been going here for 24 years - great place for special celebrations- the kitchen is the view and it’s pleasant and entertaining if your a foodie - chef is always a funny and happy guy…. If you’re into duck - Peking for 2 is date night must - Unicorn duck is also amazing… rice fish, baked scallop, sea cucumber - but you cant go wrong with this hidden gem, everything on the menu is worth it!

The food was not great. Ordered the sea bass in ginger/scallion sauce. The fish was overcooked and chewy.

Location is nice enough, while restaurant interiors is very dated and is typical of a Chinese restaurant in NYC. Menu selection has many good choices for family style dinning.
We ordered several dishes for our family dinner: Shrimp Spring Rolls, Salt & Pepper Squid, 1/2 Roast Duck, 1/2 Crispy Chicken, Whole fish red snapper steamed w/ soy-leek-ginger sauce, Sweet n Sour Pork, Beef w/ Broccoli, Yung Chow Fried Rice and Vegetable Low Mein. For dessert we had the Sesame Balls, Mango Sorbet, Lemonier Sorbet & Red Bean Mochi. We finished everything!

Good location.
The place feels very dated. The menu is extensive, but the food is mixed in quality and presentation.
Service is mediocre.
It unfortunate as there are limited good Chinese food options in Miami.

Fabulous, wouldn’t change one thing.
If you like Sea Bass, this is a must with the black bean sauce. My favorite is the duck, love the preparation at table side. Our server was incredible and we will make another visit soon. Just as good as I remember.

Excellent food with good service. However, getting to the restaurant was a nightmare: you need to go though a long type of Mall full with low budget uneducated tourists. The dinning room had no view to the water as advertised: it looked dim.
However, the food was fantastic! Nice and very friendly service

The food was very good. The atmosphere would be ok for lunch, but for dinner it felt too much like a cafeteria setting, a little depressing. I would for sure order again as takeout or delivery since the food was very good, but not necessarily dining there in the evening on a date.

The food at Tony Chan's rated from good to fair. Our soups, the crispy rice and seafood and the seafood in a brown broth were good and the portions were plentiful. My seafood salad was fresh and tasty. I did not enjoy my spring rolls as they had a strange odor. My husband liked his beef and broccoli, but it was very salty. My spider roll was mediocre, as the rice was not wrapped tightly around the ingredients and the presentation made it less appetizing. As for the ambience, you could not see the water as the reflection on the windows made this impossible at night. The restaurant seemed a little old. I was a bit taken aback by one of the cooks who had his head down on the prep table in the open kitchen for about 10 minutes. Also, I felt the other cooks should have been wearing gloves. I have had much better Chinese food elsewhere and the food did not merit the expensive prices.

Well the experience was good, and they were more than welcoming to large groups. However there were numerous errors in getting what we ordered and giving out our food which is fine except they charged us for their mistakes and refused to correct them without us just paying for the correct item on top of paying for the incorrect item.

Very seedy decor in a seedy location. Food quite average and prices high for what's nothing more than your basic neighborhood Chinese dining room. Water club? Where's the water? And the pictures are nothing less than deceiving advertising.

We always patronize Tony Chan's. We always stay with JW Marriott Biscayne bay. Since we are right here we make a point to visit. The food is always fresh as we watch the food being prepared. Our server was great she made sure all our needs were taken care of. The owner she always comes by to say hello and make us feel welcome. We have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants in our culinary lives, and Tony Chan's Water Club ranks among the very best. We will always patronize this location.

This place is horrible. I showed up at the right time of reservation. There were hardly any customers at the place. They sat me down at a table and completely ignored me for 15 minutes. The staff were standing and chatting away to but didn’t even bother to offer me a glass of water.
I called one of the servers and asked for a glass of water. He hesitatingly poured one. From his look itself I realized that this restaurant has the poorest and most unprofessional staff I have ever met.
I stood up and left the place but not without telling them that they don’t deserve to be on OpenTable at all. It is one of my most painful dining experiences ever and the owners of this place should feel ashamed of their staff, nothing less. This place doesn’t even deserve one star.

The restaurant has an excellent selection of dishes. The dished are brought family style, with the rice on the side, so you can share or sample from the different entrees between people sitting on your table. The dishes that we had were very good. We had sweet and sour pork, and a shrimp in curry sauce (both with vegetables). The kitchen is bordered by glass panes, so you can see the dishes being prepared. The service was very good. The only thing that made me nervous was that on a Sunday afternoon, only 2 tables were full (including mine). The restaurant has probably about 50 tables overall.

We have been going to Tony Chan's Water Club for many years. This time it was a bit of a disappointment. The vegetable spring rolls were tasteless and the vegetables were watery. The flavor of the birds nest had an “old oil” flavor. My sizzling seafood dish also lacked in flavor and the seafood was DEFINITLY frozen. The service was good and very friendly. The ambience could use a facelift. I doubt we will go back again. I will miss it as it was one of our stops on the way to the Arsht to see a play.

The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there Saturday night. But the staff was very attentive and the place was clean. The dinner menu had a great variety, but the dim sum menu was limited. The beef flank dim sum was good but the pork buns were okay. Young chow fried rice was excellent and the General Tsoa chicken was great. It's too bad there are no water views in this restaurant.

There is no real view of the bay. The Peking Duck is actually very complicated to order because of the very odd way they describe it in the menu. No one at the restaurant could tell us either because if language barriers. The other items are pretty basic. There are other, better options in the immediate vicinity.
