Great food and service and sitting outside was nice during good weather. They need to fix their espresso machine
Everything was wonderful. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The food was creative, beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious! We had varying dietary needs and there was something for everyone to enjoy. The drinks were great. We come here often and are never disappointed.
Food was excellent, but it was so noisy, I could not have a conversation with my dining companions.
Everything was delicious and the service was incredible!!!
I ordered the ribeye steak and asked for medium rare. The steak arrived medium well and was surprisingly thin for a high end steakhouse. Not much flavor for a $42 entree that only includes mashed potatoes with the steak. There are better steaks elsewhere for a better price.
Excellent food and excellent service! Trevor are waiter was great!
The food and service was, as always, excellent. Parking was convenient and free.
Thank you for your kind review John! We're glad you enjoyed your dining experience with us, and hope to see you back at Tonic again soon!
From start to finish, a great meal and a great experience. Our server was fantastic. He was attentive, but not overly so. The Manhattan was excellent, and the cheeseboard had an excellent triple cream blue cheese on it. Finally, the crab cakes were outstanding.
The food was very good, but the martinis were too small and served in the wrong glass
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was very nice. Will continue to be one of my top places to eat
Unimaginative menu with the offerings we chose (duck, steak, chicken) prepared average at best. The beet appetizer was nice, the calamari like something from a supermarket frozen food aisle. The only thing worth savoring werethe drinks with the martini and old-fashioned excellent.
Ordered a filet medium. They cooked it medium rare. Waited 10 min for the same steak to be returned to me. Had no seasoning on it at all. Bernaise was cold. Risotto was bland and mushy. Would not return.
Surprised my fiancé with a little date night . Tonic was a great place to have had that date at. Very satisfied no complaints. First time there but won’t be the last time. Great great place. Food was great. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The rack of lamb was even better. I’ll be back in a few weeks for sure with many guests.
Would have ranked “OK” if not for crab cakes. Grilled octopus was disappointing enough that I sent it back, which I never do. Appeared to be just calamari (not octopus) and definitely not what I consider grilled. Looked more like over-marinated and sautéed. Roasted beets were also disappointing (warm pickled beets with yogurt and nuts).
Crab cakes were on point! Good sized (4” or so), very little filler, and good flavor. Seared tuna sandwich was also a pleasant surprise. Well seasoned and cooked to a proper med rare.
Service was prompt and attentive. I do appreciate our waiter removing the octopus from the bill without me having to ask.
Nice ambience although the almost-loud country music was a bit odd for the vibe of the restaurant.
I will go back. Sat outside and the sirens were no fun but will eat inside next time.
Delicious food does not even begin to describe this place. We went knowing it would be great but it was AMAZING. Sat outside, gorgeous and quiet even with traffic, our waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful with the decision making process for our meal. Our waiter was on top of it all night, drinks, food, dessert, we had it all! Thank you to this restaurant for making this birthday dinner so perfect. 10/10 would come back in a heartbeat. Also we sat by the private dining entrance and it looked incredible for anyone thinking of doing a private event here. If you’re questioning coming here DO IT.
The atmosphere and food was awesome. Also please request Hilly as your waitress.
Salad wasn’t fresh
Good food and pleasant and efficient service. Austere decor.
We enjoyed it! Tasty food and good service. Loved having the windows open to the outside.
Gr8 place! Steaks are very good, appz were gr8 & drinks were on point!
This was our first time here. Overall a very good experience. The drinks were the least of our favorites but the appetizers and dinners were really delicious. Highly recommend the egg rolls and the filet. It was good to switch up to a new place. Service was great and the atmosphere was fun!
Wonderful dinner at Tonic. Had an outside table with an excellent waiter, service was great and food was stellar. A real asset to Wilmington.
Great service, good food, and a nice time. Definitely recommend!
The outdoor tables are generally very good and they are under a roof. But rain can get to you particularly when there is wind and there is some road noise. But still outdoor is very good.
Dinner at seven last night, pretty quiet night restaurant was almost empty. Hundred degree Tuesday night not really a surprise. Service was very good appetizer and salad we’re also good.12 ounce New York sirloin strip was just OK. The other person had a Bone in ribeye which they seem to enjoy. For the price I said it was OK but nothing spectacular. I personally enjoy New York strip that’s a thicker cut and they serve
I would have rated five stars but I was marked as a no show.
Food was good.Service was excellent. Ambience was so-so. It's a bar.
The service was amazing, never had to wait longer then expected to be serviced. The food was cooked perfectly and the flavors where all on point. Don’t miss this experience!!! If I’m ever in Wilmington again I’ll be there.
Brought family in from out of town. Service was professional and courteous, all members of our party ordered meat cooked to temp and it was all spot on. Will definitely be back the next time family visits.
Overall the food was good, a couple of dishes were under-seasoned but the service was great and the cocktails were fantastic! Relatively quiet vibe, but this was on a Monday night. Would definitely go back for the drinks.
My wife and I both had the trout and it was thoroughly overcooked and only warm when it was served. Definitely not one of the better meals we have experienced at Tonic.
Server Teddy was top notch and food was delicious. We will be back!
This was probably the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Our starters were baby octopus and oyster on the 1/2.
The baby octopus was over cooked and not seasoned. The oysters were ok. For our meal I had the lamb chops my husband had a filet. Both came with mashed potato’s . The mash had the texture of instant potato’s, but were completely bland. I actually had to ask for salt and pepper.
The first time my lamb was well done and my husbands filet was raw. We both asked for medium. When it came back it still wasn’t right but at that point we just ate it.
When the restaurant was empty on a Friday night that should have been a sign to walk away!
We sat outside and it was quite a bit noisier inside. Waitstaff was great. Food was okay for what we paid, not exceptional.
Casual Friday evening dinner. Table was ready upon arrival at 6:45. Our server “Page” was quite chatty and personable. We ate lightly, seafood salad, that was tasty and my guest had a salad with salmon added.
Overall service, food and price will have me returning whem I’m ready to attack a steak.
Dinner was good and service was excellent. Teddy was the best waiter we have had in a long time. Expertly explained the menu, wines and made suggestions for each guest. A very enjoyable evening.
Had a great post-graduation lunch with family at Tonic. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Don’t get out of North Wilmington so much so it was nice to go downtown for a change. Will definitely go back.
We stumbled into Tonic, expecting not much and were completely blown away. The food is excellent - creative with great veg complements - and the service is outstanding. We have to manage celiac/gluten free so were really pleased they have a GF calamari (very unusual). We also had scallops. Our waiter recommended chick pea cakes which were really super! We had a flourless cake dessert. And…tasty cocktails and wine. A truly unexpectedly great evening out in Wilmington.
