The atmosphere and food was awesome. Also please request Hilly as your waitress.
Salad wasn’t fresh
Good food and pleasant and efficient service. Austere decor.
We enjoyed it! Tasty food and good service. Loved having the windows open to the outside.
Gr8 place! Steaks are very good, appz were gr8 & drinks were on point!
This was our first time here. Overall a very good experience. The drinks were the least of our favorites but the appetizers and dinners were really delicious. Highly recommend the egg rolls and the filet. It was good to switch up to a new place. Service was great and the atmosphere was fun!
Wonderful dinner at Tonic. Had an outside table with an excellent waiter, service was great and food was stellar. A real asset to Wilmington.
Great service, good food, and a nice time. Definitely recommend!
The outdoor tables are generally very good and they are under a roof. But rain can get to you particularly when there is wind and there is some road noise. But still outdoor is very good.
Dinner at seven last night, pretty quiet night restaurant was almost empty. Hundred degree Tuesday night not really a surprise. Service was very good appetizer and salad we’re also good.12 ounce New York sirloin strip was just OK. The other person had a Bone in ribeye which they seem to enjoy. For the price I said it was OK but nothing spectacular. I personally enjoy New York strip that’s a thicker cut and they serve
I would have rated five stars but I was marked as a no show.
Food was good.Service was excellent. Ambience was so-so. It's a bar.
The service was amazing, never had to wait longer then expected to be serviced. The food was cooked perfectly and the flavors where all on point. Don’t miss this experience!!! If I’m ever in Wilmington again I’ll be there.
Brought family in from out of town. Service was professional and courteous, all members of our party ordered meat cooked to temp and it was all spot on. Will definitely be back the next time family visits.
Overall the food was good, a couple of dishes were under-seasoned but the service was great and the cocktails were fantastic! Relatively quiet vibe, but this was on a Monday night. Would definitely go back for the drinks.
My wife and I both had the trout and it was thoroughly overcooked and only warm when it was served. Definitely not one of the better meals we have experienced at Tonic.
Server Teddy was top notch and food was delicious. We will be back!
This was probably the worst meal I’ve had in a long time. Our starters were baby octopus and oyster on the 1/2.
The baby octopus was over cooked and not seasoned. The oysters were ok. For our meal I had the lamb chops my husband had a filet. Both came with mashed potato’s . The mash had the texture of instant potato’s, but were completely bland. I actually had to ask for salt and pepper.
The first time my lamb was well done and my husbands filet was raw. We both asked for medium. When it came back it still wasn’t right but at that point we just ate it.
When the restaurant was empty on a Friday night that should have been a sign to walk away!
We sat outside and it was quite a bit noisier inside. Waitstaff was great. Food was okay for what we paid, not exceptional.
Casual Friday evening dinner. Table was ready upon arrival at 6:45. Our server “Page” was quite chatty and personable. We ate lightly, seafood salad, that was tasty and my guest had a salad with salmon added.
Overall service, food and price will have me returning whem I’m ready to attack a steak.
Dinner was good and service was excellent. Teddy was the best waiter we have had in a long time. Expertly explained the menu, wines and made suggestions for each guest. A very enjoyable evening.
Had a great post-graduation lunch with family at Tonic. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Don’t get out of North Wilmington so much so it was nice to go downtown for a change. Will definitely go back.
We stumbled into Tonic, expecting not much and were completely blown away. The food is excellent - creative with great veg complements - and the service is outstanding. We have to manage celiac/gluten free so were really pleased they have a GF calamari (very unusual). We also had scallops. Our waiter recommended chick pea cakes which were really super! We had a flourless cake dessert. And…tasty cocktails and wine. A truly unexpectedly great evening out in Wilmington.
Inside is very loud but we sat outside which I preferred. Raw
Noisy, especially from the back room. Otherwise the food was hot and tasty.
Always first class here!
My husband enjoyed his entre, duck, more than I enjoyed the crab cakes. Liked the crab cakes but found the side greasy (potatoes & spinach).
The restaurant is pleasant and because it was Saturday night in Wilmington , not to crowded. Service is good
The Scallops were very tasty and my fiance love the New York Strip
Great service. Relaxed environment. Great food. Great location and hours.
Rachel our server must’ve been tired. She was very impatient. This is my first experience in tonic. I asked her can I change tables because I didn’t want to sit by the bathroom she said every table was reserved but the greeter found me a table. The greeter was very pleasant. Then Rachel was quick to say we close at 7pm when our reservation was for 6pm. My apple tart was old and was not fresh. The shrimp were inedible.
Went with steak and seafood tower. Octopus for starters and apple pie for desert. Everything was great.
Great food, location, and service... Will be back soon!
The atmosphere in Tonic is nice. The little wooden table where we were seated was near the door, so the constant traffic past the table was distracting, however, both entrees ordered were good. The food temperature was good; the portions were small on the crab cakes, but they did not have filler, which made them very tasty. The filet mignon was also delicious. Tonic is a nice spot for a special occasion dinner, but would be pricey for a regular weekend dinner, however, we do plan to return.
This was my first time here. I visited based on the reviews; however I won't be returning. I ordered a medium well steak, it was EXTRA well done. The lobster tail was dry and the asparagus was blan. The crab cake was initially mistaken as a scallops because it was so small, but it was tasty. The waitress took the steak and lobster back. My husband opted not to take another lobster but requested a replacement steak. The replacement steak was rare, but rather than send it back again, we opted to take it home and cook it properly. The waitress was attentive and polite. If you're looking for a quality steak house this isn't it.
The food and service were great
Service and food was amazing.
One of the best meals I've had in years. Awesome service, too.
Nothing too special. Food was good but the reviews made me expect more.
Probably not returning.
Chicken tacos - chicken was very dry and lacked flavor
Short rib egg rolls - very good
Brussel sprouts - mediocre
Overall, menu was overpriced.
Waiter brought out birthday cake with sparkling candle - GREAT
