Another excellent meal! The tots and mac and cheese are to die for. Our waitress gave me some great suggestions for mocktails as well.
This place is always busy, especially at lunchtime. The food is good and the staff helpful, no waiting time if you reserve your table ahead of time.
We had an excellent time. Food was very good and prices very reasonable.
Enjoyable lunch today in the garden. Went early and got a table in the shade. Very broad selection of choices both Burger-centric and beyond. If you don't mind a youthful crowd then come on in
Great Sunday morning brunch options and friendly service.
too oily, except tater tots nothing else is eatable.
Tater tot nachos. Nuff said.
Great wait staff.
Overall an awesome place in DC
Kid friendly a plus.
Always a reliable spot in Foggy Bottom, Tonic is a good lunch spot with reasonable prices for a sit-down location.
We stopped in here for a late lunch, had a reservation, but arrived only to be told we had a ten minute wait to get a table. After questioning why we needed to wait with a reservation and empty tables all around we were suddenly seated on the third floor in an empty room with one or two other tables occupied but several un-bussed and dirty tables. Sitting next to a table of dirty dishes was very unappealing! Food was ok, not anything special about the burgers... and they did not get my burger order correct but we did not have time to wait on a redo. Unique building in the middle of a college campus but they did not seem to care if you were there or not.
We had a large party (4 adults and 6 kids). Seated upstairs in a booth which was great. The food was fantastic but the service was just okay ... waters never refilled and we had to ask for the checks. I felt bad with all the kids around, but we were ready to pay and leave and it took a little while! None the less, we’d go back!
Delicious food on a covered patio. Table was ready right on time. What's not to love! Excellent house made black bean burger.
Horrible service. Were seated and not even greeted for almost 10 minutes. Food took an hour to arrive after ordering AND the waitress avoided our table the whole time. She wouldn't even make eye contact. I understand that things get busy or orders get lost; but at least keep me updated, offer drinks, or take 10% off the bill. Anything! The food was very good and the portions were generous when it finally arrived.
Service took time to get started, but was professional, attentive and friendly once it began. Terrific ambiance with plenty of character and care. Would return with pleasure.
The tater tots were incredible and the Mac and Cheesy burger was amazing. I only wish I had had a bigger appetite when I went.
My Buffalo Chicken sandwich was quite good, but I was disappointed by the relatively small piece of chicken the chef put on it. I remember thinking that, presentation-wise, they did a good job disguising the gap with lettuce. Will probably go back despite being annoyed, but will choose something else next time.
One of the entrees came out incorrect. It took several attempts to get straws. No ketchup on the table, which was standard for other tables. Another minor issue regarding water with no ice. Nothing massive — but in the aggregate, it was a bit annoying. I used to come to Tonic all the time, but haven’t been recently in a while, and wish some of these service issues were better, as that would encourage me to come more often.
Food quality was good, and menu selection maybe seems even better than last time I was in.
Side salad was terrible and other food was ok. Tater tots could have been cooked more thoroughly. Decent spot for quick working lunch but not in a rush to run back.
Food was amazing. The tots were perfect
We went here during the cherry blossom festival, we had a big group but they were very accommodating. They have a great kids menu, and were accommodating for the kids. They also had a great drink menu. Everyone in our group loved the food. The service was fantastic, and the overall atmosphere was great. If you are in the area would definitely recommend.
Perfect place for a family birthday brunch! Wonderful service from our waitress.
Nice food, great location, you have to try the cinnamon waffles
Sat outside on the garden side, got there right when it opened so it was pretty quiet. Great spot, amaaaazing food!! I recommend the Cinnamon bun French toast and, of course, the tots.
I had a new waiter who gave me my bill but charged my card with another table's bill. The situation was corrected but it was not a good experience.
Tonics is one of my "Go-To" places for lunch. I loved the special in honor of Cherry Blossoms. I had the Pulled BBQ Chicken Mac-n-cheese. I got the lunch size -- then wished I would have gotten the larger size.
Enjoyed the large patio and the tots are great as expected
Great spot on GW campus
Server must have been over worked. We waited over 30 minutes for our check. She was a nice girl, so either she was spread thin that day or she’s not meant for industry. Food was fantastic! I can see why they’d be a popular spot to visit.
Excellent service, waitress was attentive. Sorry, I will not recommend the tater tots, even though Tonic is "known" for its tater tots. Nothing special about it. I would spend the $8 on a different appetizer or put it towards your meal. Salads were really good, good portion size.
Food was good, but seating service was pretty bad.
We were there for lunch. The food was very good, with some nice variation of food types on the menu, including some interesting options. The service was prompt and efficient. The only issue was the background noise was high such that at times, the five of us sometimes had to repeat statements.
Salmon BLTA and Mac and Cheese Burger were great. Nice, casual atmosphere.
I booked a table here to celebrate with a larger group (8 people) and it was fantastic. Everyone loved the food and the mimosa special at brunch. The tater tots on the menu are why I picked this place, and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was nice and attentive, but the drinks were a little slow. Not out of the ordinary for a 12pm table on a Saturday, though.
A big old bag of meh. Average quality food and drink for outrageous prices. I'd rather just fight the crowds at Founding Farmers or even just grab something at the Whole Foods down the street.
Great salads and sandwiches for lunch. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. My only gripe was the absence of to-go cups for my iced tea. The restaurant was pretty much empty when we arrived at 11:15 and we got a table by the upstairs window. Service was slow to start but became more attentive as the restaurant filled up. By the time we left at 12:15 it was pretty much packed, and people were waiting. I recommend reservations.
Had a trainee server. She did very well
Our server, Diamond, was great! She was attentive and had a great attitude!
Overall Quigley's is a great place which I would recommend. However, my Mac & Cheese was undercooked and not warm enough. Not even al dente and frankly I should have sent it back. This is however, typical of lunch servings many places, rushed....
Always dependable always great. I would recommend this place to a friend. Love the tots
Enjoyed the turkey burger, and I also had their jalapeño martini. It was amazing!!!
