Stopped in for a quick bite before a show at the Playhouse on Rodney Square. Convenient. We had several appetizers and all were great. Bar can be noisy, but the dining area was quieter. We will be back.
Service was terrible. Although the waitress (Michelle) was nice and friendly. The food took WAY TOO LONG to arrive, and only after we inquired about it twice. Once it arrived one of our four orders was incorrect. It was also quite difficult to just get our water glasses re-filled.
The food was also very disappointing. To their credit, once we voiced our concern to the manager, she did remove one of the four dinners from our final bill, and did offer complimentary desserts.
Great place for any occasion. On this night there was live music by the Light Up the Queen musicians. Great community involvement.
Food and service was very good! Place was very clean and had a nice open feeling in the restaurant. The only down side was the weather was cold and both the restaurant and the bar area were very drafty from the door being open and closed.
This is definitely not the same restraunt that blue fish once was. While the food is good I can’t help but think back to how good it used to be. Sure the new variety is great but I feel like the dishes may be hit or miss. The filet was great according to my fellow diner but my pecan crusted chicken sandwich the bread was over toasted and the Brie often over powered the dish. For a neighborhood bar and grill downtown it’s a good place but it’s far from the perfect date night it used to be.
A perfect place for dinner with friends. It is also our date night spot. Happy to be able to walk there, too. Food was delicious.
Excellent choice, food well prepared and delicious. Customer friendly.
We came for a Valentine’s Day dinner Res and ended up sitting at the bar watching the Olympics, enjoying drinks and eating apps instead. The best dirty martini I’ve enjoyed in awhile and delish fresh mozz! Will return with friends!
Great valentines day menu. Quick service.
It was the absolute best in every area...service food ambience etc.
I've been a chef for well over 20 years and I'm very hard to please!!
My boyfriend & I went here for Valentine’s Day last year and ADORED it so much that we went back this year! The second experience wasn’t as delicious. Our drinks were pretty terrible. Mine tasted like straight cough syrup (I ordered some pear drink). We barely drank half before ordering something simple that we knew we would like. The waitress didn’t even ask what we thought of them. I must have ordered from the specials menu last year, because the entrees were not as appealing this year. I got the crab cakes. They were good enough. Just like any basic crab cake. I will say though, my boyfriends filet was cooked beautifully! Overall an okay experience food and drink wise. We are going to try it again when it is nicer out and decide if we will keep the Valentine’s Day tradition going then.
My husband & I went for early Valentine's dinner on Saturday evening. The service was very good, friendly staff. The steak special was pleasing. I ordered the filet, mashed potatoes & asparagus and was very pleased. My husband ordered a rib eye steak it was very good, except for his side dishes, the green beans tasted like plastic/wax and the potato cakes that it came with tasted terrible. He was able to eat some of my mashed potatoes to help with both of our sides. The house chardonnay is ok, not that great for 8.50 a glass. Overall we would probably not go back for dinner maybe for happy hour, it was not worth 100.00 between the 2 of us.
Chose this spot for a pre theater dinner at the Playhouse and worked out great, parking next door and theater down the street. Prices were moderate with drinks being a little high priced. We ordered salad, soup and several small plates. Plus prosecco and beer. Mushroom soup was very good as was the fennel-arugala salad. Jamacain samosas were tasty but a bit dry and the coconut dip provided was bland. The brussel sprouts were great and beautifully cooked and carmelized. The beet napoleon was not really like a napoleon but rather thinly sliced beets and portabellos with a small mushroom and arugal salad. It was delicious but the portabellos got lost in the beet juice.
You have to get the half chicken. It was the best and the skin was so crispy and excellently seasoned. Our waitress and bartender were great would go back just for them too. Always a great spot to catch up with friends over food and drinks.
They no longer participate in open table. Please take not as reservations made on this app aren’t on record at Tonic anymore.
The menu offered in the restaurant did not match the one available online, which was a but disappointing guven that we came specifically for their exquisite ‘mustard seed encrusted salmon with curry cauliflower puree’, which was no longer offered. On a happy note, our server Valerie was AMAZING!!!
Business Lunch - My clients both commented on the great service and food!
We enjoyed dining at Tonic for New Year’s Eve. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were awesome. We had an awesome time there. I wish we had stayed for the DJ dance party!
Portion sizes have shrunk, but not prices. Good service and ambiance, nice wine selection
Our server Yasmine gets 11 stars on a 10 scale!! Good is top notch. Aged steak to die for! Our new favorite dining experience place!
Great service. Steak was ok. Have had better at Texas Road House.
Overall OK. The price was high for the quality of food served. Sticker shock upon getting the bill.
As always, the food was quite good and the service was attentive but not intrusive. A very good and convenient venue for business lunches in Wilmington.
Mushroom soup was delicious! Wait staff was very attentive and accommodating
Food always good, lunch service always fast. The mushroom soup I had this time was homemade, creamy and delicious! A bit loud when they get crowded.
Our reservation was not honored and we had to eat at their noisy sports bar. Food was great, but I'm not going back if there is a show at the Playhouse.
I fell in love with this place after the first visit, I love the brunch the most because it's closer than going to Philadelphia and the food is excellent, I love the brunch menu. It's my new spot and I tell everyone about it
Steak was fabulous. Cauliflower appetizer was interesting and tasty. Service was fantastic.
We went to Tonic before the theatre. It's conveniently located and one of us hadn't been there before. I was able to get a seat at the bar while I waited for my husband, which was a nice surprise, even though it was crowded and loud in the bar area. They sat us at our table and it seemed as if all servers walked past us as if we were invisible. It took ~10 minutes for anyone to say anything to us. The food did come out pretty quickly but the crab cakes that were expensive! were VERY small for a main course. They were good but way to small a serving for the price. The filet mignon was excellent. I would go back but not on a regular occasion.
We had the crab cake sandwich. And the wedge with salmon. All was very good.
