Made a reservation on line for 6/13, Saturday night. Got a reminder email. Showed up at 7:30 for reservation, all chairs on tables, no service in dining room. Showed our reservation to receptionist and asked why we just drove 30 minutes if they are closed. She pointed at manager-owner - i don't know? Did not identify herself. Just said....closed.
Tried to make a reservation quickly somewhere else, couldn't - we were locked out of Open Table. We received confirmation of reservation, reminder of reservation, how was our reservation, how was our meal. They are STILL ACCEPTING reservations. Don't go without calling. Very disappointing. Even more disappointing they did not care. Have turned them into Open Table as well. :(
My friends and I loved the food and everything. I enjoyed my very first sake and have recommended the location to coworkers.
Very tasty. Best ramen in the area
Amazing food. The ramen and the bento box we ordered were delicious. Will certainly come back again.
The broth and dumplings were outstanding
Tonbo was awesome! I’ve been looking for a good ramen restaurant and I think I found my new favorite spot!
Excellent meal! Our waiter was extremely helpful with ordering and steered us in the perfect direction. Can't wait to go back or get takeout. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing. The restaurant was busy due to Valentine’s Day so the service was a bit slower than usual but our waitress was a sweetheart. Definitely recommend!
Tonbo Ramen has great food and the service was awesome!
Amazing food and service!
Mediocre ramen and I'm pretty sure they brought me the wrong beer. Will keep searching for a solid ramen restaurant in Raleigh
Delicious meal! Would recommend this to others to enjoy as well
Waited 15 minutes for the server to get our order and 45 minutes to get our food
I was hoping that the time we waited was worth it because the food would be delicious but it was average.
Came here for birthday party. Seated immediately which was great. Table was waiting.
Bbq pork and shrimp buns were really delicious. Perfect appetizers. Tempura was excellent with a great dipping sauce.
The ramen bowls were where things went a little down hill. We order 3 different varieties and none were great. Not bad but just not very tasty. There were so many ingredients and noodles that you couldn’t see any liquid. Maybe this was normal but was hard to enjoy the broth. The broth recipe was off once you found it. Maybe this is personal preference and others will disagree.
We’ve been to another Ramen shop on Cary and I think this is what I was hoping the ramen broth would taste like.
Still we had a good time and was glad to have visited.
Favorite place for great ramen, relaxed atmosphere, welcomin staff - attentive without hovering
First time at Tonbo with family. One of the best ramen we had so far in the triangle area. Nice ambient, good service and a lot of choices from the menu. We'll definitely come back again.
Great food, good portions, good service. Definitely going back!
Great time with terrific wait service as well.
Great food, good service, totally enjoyed from kids thru adults. Will be back.
Amazing food and flavors and fantastic wait staff. Well worth the trip downtown from North Hills to get fantastic food. This was my first time there but not my last. Easy garage parking down the street only a block and a half from the restaurant.
Nice bowls of ramen on a cold, windy night. Would have been nice to get more meat (duck, pork belly) in each serving, and hotter broth. But the flavor and other items in the bowl were good. It was nice not to have overdone boiled eggs.
This was a great place for Ramen, my only knocks as to why it wasn’t a 5 star is because the drinks were slow and there was no kids menu options. Although my kids (8,11 and 13) were able to find food that they enjoyed, the cost of feeding them was less than favorable, but I understand that it’s not the kind of place that is catering to kids or even parents. But everything else was great!
Amazing food with great servers the ambiance is wonderful and if you have any questions they will kindly explain anything to you which is the absolute sweetest.
Tasty ramen. Service was so so.
food was great and not too much that you can't finish it....we had to request more soup which they do charge for but it was ok coz it's that good! Highly recommended and will definitely come back when I can eat carbs again :)
The waiter was very patient and really friendly. And the food was amazing
The food was flavorful and delicious, just what we were hoping for. The service was decent, not great, but not something that would keep me from coming back.
There are some better noodles in the triangle, but the mood is nice and the Izakaya rocks
All around an amazing comfort food experience. Ambience could really be taken up a notch (Artwork? Something other than bare walls), but honestly I'd eat this ramen in a dark alley if I had to. Pork belly buns and duck ramen were on point. Also enjoyed the tonkotsu. We had the sesame seed ice cream dessert to share—I'd get it for the waffles alone. A new favorite spot!
Spectacular spot for exceptional food and drinks!
Eat at the bar and let Sierra talk you through the menu, drinks and sake selection... impossible to go wrong!
We’ll be back!!!
Great dinner for a large group of us. We had the upstairs to ourselves and the bartender and waitstaff were very attentive. Food was excellent-pork belly & Shrimp buns, karaage and great ramen for dinner. Excellent food & experience!
The ambience is good, but I've had better Ramen. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and didn't feel the flavor or quantity was worth the price. The veggie buns were good and they have a good collection of Sake.
As always a fantastic experience.
Always a great place to go for casual dining in Raleigh. The buns are delish, and you can't go wrong with the ramen.
So yummy! Great, quick, friendly service and amazing food.
Good food and nice ambience
We found the duck ramen to be of excellent quality with a delicate broth and good mix of vegetables and protein. The adult slushies were a nice compliment to the ramen. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. Definitely will visit again to try the other options.
All of the ingredients were fresh and the flavors in the ramen melded together nicely. The presentation of the food was very appealing!
We went restaurant week and loved all 3 courses. Who knew Black Sesame ice cream and lavender infused honey could be so good.
