Amazing food in a casual downtown spot. Will definitely be making this place a regular part of our date night rotation!

Start with a (now) INSIDER TIP: We booked bar seating through the OpenTable app, however, once we checked in they told us bar seating is first come first serve (they had a table held for us anyway). Regardless, ask to sit upstairs! Downstairs looks unfinished and not very cozy; upstairs is where the “dinner date” ambiance is at. Luckily the bar was open and we were helped by the nice man working the bar. He made a great cocktail recommendation for me and whipped it up fast (something with dragonfly in the name I think). The food came out very quickly and hot and was delicious. Highly recommend starting with the fried cheesy ramen bites. My boyfriend said he had ramen once and didn’t like it, but now he does after trying it at Tonbo. :)

My wife and I were visiting Raleigh and decided to grab lunch at Tonbo. All I can say is what and incredible find! We tried a pork bun as our appetizer, a couple of bowls of ramen for our meal and the mochi donuts for desert. Everything was perfect. The pictures on the menu are exactly what the food looks like when it is served. Picture perfect, and super tasty. The workers are all super friendly too. Great experience all around, cannot wait to come back!

Great food, great service.my girlfriend and I both got ramen bowls and we split an app. Plenty of food. I personally would have liked to see more veggies but flavor was on point. We will be back
About the only issue was finding parking, but there is free parking on weekends and there is a parking lot about a block or so away. AMAZING food, out of this world cocktails. Would recommend to anyone anytime. Definitely going back!!! Also very family/kid friendly. Sue our waitress was outstanding!!!

First time coming here and this will definitely be a go to spot for us! The pork belly Ramen was amazing!! The pork belly was so tender it would actually melt in your mouth. We also had their special salad of the day which was a French cut lollipop lamb chop with a sweet glazing served over a Mediterranean style salad with feta cheese.
I would definitely recommend us as it’s very authentic Ramen.

I brought my friend here for his birthday this week and had an excellent experience. We reserved a table online and when we arrived we were quickly seated. The food was amazing and the service was good. At the end of our meal we ordered an additional item for my friends wife to bring home to her and it was prepared quickly and efficiently. For dessert we had the mochi. It was delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Ramen restaurant.
I drive to Tonbo every now and then from Rocky Mount about a 45 minute drive just to get some Ramen. Best Ramen I have found in in Raleigh.
The sauce for the cauliflower salad was delicious, definitely try that for a starter. I've been here numerous times and had each of the ramen bowls. They are all so rich and tasty. Start with the tonkotsu, the pork belly just falls apart.
If you're adventurous for drinks, the sweet flight of sake, you won't be disappointed.
Made a reservation on line for 6/13, Saturday night. Got a reminder email. Showed up at 7:30 for reservation, all chairs on tables, no service in dining room. Showed our reservation to receptionist and asked why we just drove 30 minutes if they are closed. She pointed at manager-owner - i don't know? Did not identify herself. Just said....closed.
Tried to make a reservation quickly somewhere else, couldn't - we were locked out of Open Table. We received confirmation of reservation, reminder of reservation, how was our reservation, how was our meal. They are STILL ACCEPTING reservations. Don't go without calling. Very disappointing. Even more disappointing they did not care. Have turned them into Open Table as well. :(

Food was amazing. The restaurant was busy due to Valentine’s Day so the service was a bit slower than usual but our waitress was a sweetheart. Definitely recommend!

Came here for birthday party. Seated immediately which was great. Table was waiting.
Bbq pork and shrimp buns were really delicious. Perfect appetizers. Tempura was excellent with a great dipping sauce.
The ramen bowls were where things went a little down hill. We order 3 different varieties and none were great. Not bad but just not very tasty. There were so many ingredients and noodles that you couldn’t see any liquid. Maybe this was normal but was hard to enjoy the broth. The broth recipe was off once you found it. Maybe this is personal preference and others will disagree.
We’ve been to another Ramen shop on Cary and I think this is what I was hoping the ramen broth would taste like.
Still we had a good time and was glad to have visited.
