We serve eclectic Japanese-American cuisine and serious wine in a former adult video store. Since opening, Tomo has received recognition as one of the country's best new restaurants by Esquire and Robb Report and has been nominated for Outstanding Wine Program by the James Beard Foundation.

Chef Brady Ishiwata Williams’ menus are personal, and feature outstanding ingredients prepared simply and with confidence.

Our wine program highlights rare and ephemeral wines made by creative, principled people. We also serve a variety of classic and seasonal cocktails, emphasizing small-batch spirits and quality nonalcoholic options.

Fantastic Menu…concise selection, with great variety but largely thematically connected options. Loved the crab rice, the cacio pepe rice cakes, and my god the sweet and sticky fried chicken. Soooo good. Mostly easy to share amongst our group of 4. We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful Seattle summer evening. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal, service, and time. Highly recommend with another couple to try as much of the menu as possible!

The most outstanding aspect of Tomo is the wait staff. They are welcoming, friendly, helpful with the menu, attentive and delightful. The food is very tasty but portions are small. The price was very high for the quantity of food served. The tiramisu dessert was basically a large slushy with a slight flavor of tiramisu. We would likely not return.

Food was thoughtfully prepared, well seasoned, and delicious. Service was unacceptable. Both waiters seem like they hate themselves and take it out on others. Zero table maintenance and just bad vibes. It doesn’t appear they have a manager doing table checks either. Its unfortunate service was so poor as the food was delightful and I wouldn’t return based on the service provided.

We were fortunate to get a last minute reservation but it was outdoor without a fan. They accommodated us inside with a hard stop for another reservation. The waitstaff missed a dish and we didn’t have time for dessert. The food was not as exciting as when they served the tasting menu.

Food was excellent. What a surprise to find this place in White Center. Should be noted that the prices are not for the faint of heart! But if your budget allows, an excellent choice.

Honestly my dinner at TOMO was the best meal I’ve had in Seattle (or just about anywhere) in years. Everything was unique, thoughtfully prepared/presented, and tasted amazing. It reminded me that going out to eat can be an experience, not just a means to an end. As a working parent, most of my “dining” experiences are out of necessity or lack of time to cook, which is something I enjoy and am decent at, and I end up feeling like the value isn’t what I want it to be. TOMO is definitely a special occasion spot and not cheap, but for me, the value is outstanding for both the food and the service experience.

Tomo was a great experience with delicious food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. It was our first time here, and we ordered the family style set menu. Highly recommend to get a taste of many things.

An absolute gem of a kitchen with truly great service. The bar and the wine list are top flight. One star off of five for the noise/sound level in the dining room. Every bite we were served (caesar, sliders, sweet potato, fried chicken, dessert) was executed perfectly. We will absolutely return - there are so many good items on the menu. We'll reserve a table on the patio, which can be quieter.
