Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Plano
This place is great
My friends and I really enjoyed Tommy Bahamas. We asked to be seated on the patio and we should have taken the original table suggested by our hostess. Instead, we sat further in which put us close to the bar area which was extremely noisy. There were 4 of us, but we had to shout to be heard by either of the two people seated across from us.
That was our mistake and would not keep us from returning to enjoy the restaurant again. The food was great, service excellent, wine & cocktails delicious. We just needed to listen to our hostess!
THe service and ambience were good. The food was just average. The coconut shrimp was average, nothing special. The scallop sliders were lost in all the bread so I sent ut back and got the toast special which was pretty good. The shrimp and scallop yellow curry dish was pretty good, but it's even better somewhere else, so we wouldn't bother going back.
We were there on a Saturday night for dinner and the food and service were great. Our waiter was very attentive and others came and made sure our water was always full. The patio area was large and would be great to sit out there but it was extremely loud. We sat inside where it was much more quiet. Overall it was a great night but I would like to say they were out of one of the appetizers and coffee. They were able to get us coffee to have with our desserts but thought that was strange.
Well had t bee. Here in awhile and it showed openings for a Friday night so we took it. We brought my elderly Mom with us and were seated in the far North end by the bar. It was virtually impossible to talk to anyone at the table other than the one right net to you! This section of the restaurant is extremely Noisy!! Never sit there again. Service was slow, food was ok, though one dish came out cold (ribs) Mgr. Came over and apologized and they remade it. I had a steak and it was fair. Sides were just ok. After waiting 10 minutes for the check waiter brings it and says, oops gotta take one of these meals off as it charged you twice. Well don’t bring me the check until it’s right. He came back with corrected one and we paid and left.
Birthday Dinner Celebration with wine and music. Great Service, delicious food and wonderful music. Thanks for making the evening a sweet success!
We love the Tommy Bahama restaurants. Today our experience was excellent, as always, thanks this time to our awesome and personable server "Dayton".
Great experience and great food! Everything was prepared perfectly
The quality of the food was excellent and the service was really good. Live music for a Saturday night was nice, but glad we were not sitting close to the bank or we could not talk as the music was loud. Cocktails were yummy, but over priced.
Waiter very gracious and engaging.
Very disappointed because our luncheon was a birthday celebration for two ladies. This was the first place we've been where there wasn't a birthday sweet or something. Won't come back as there are too many restaurants in the area to be disappointed by one.
Great food & service- highly recommend for their seafood.
Everything about the evening was superb! The waitstaff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was wonderful, from appetizers through dessert. We look forward to many future visits.
Birthday dinner. Service was just ok. Food was good. Pricey
Large party of 10 with great service
Excellent food and atmosphere and great service! The Crab Avocado salad is always my go to meal selection. Good for business as you can hear yourself think!!
Great menu, best seafood options we’ve seen in North Texas. Great wine list.
While they missed my 8 o’clock reservation time, they more than made up for it with the service and food.
The food was great form appetizer to dessert. They where super nice. The manager came by the table and asked if everything was good. They gave us a sample of the coconut shrimp it was great. They had live music outside that we could hear not to loud .
I waited 20 minutes after finishing the meal to get checked out. That included the manager as well as other staff. I sat there with my credit card visible while staff walked by ignoring the situation. Think I was pleased????
Caesar salad was terrible...how can you mess that up?
Waitstaff never came back after we paid to fill water and was not attentive
Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The prices are a little high for a casual restaurant. I had the scallops and shrimp and they were very good. Didn't care for the curry reduction sauce but if I ordered again I would ask for that to be on the side. My husband had the macadamia nut crusted snapper and he thought it was delicious.
We have dined here many times, it seems
To be slipping. Food was not as good
Went to Tommy Bahamas to celebrate my friends birthday. We had a wonderful experience the food was excellent presentation was so creative. The ambience makes you feel like you’re visiting another locale. The two of us enjoyed every moment of it and she was very happy that that was our selection for her celebration! She had the fish tacos which were beautiful almost too beautiful to eat. I had the macadamia nut crusted snapper which was absolutely divine . The dessert tray is to die for we both wanted to eat everything on the tray but I chose the crème brûlée in a pineapple container and she chose the Keylime pie both were excellent
Great food... everything I have had on the menu has been spectacular!
Overpriced in my opinion but I do love the food. The outdoor are is my favorite.
Both my companion and I had the Salmon bowl and it was excellent & yummy! This is always what I get even though I promise myself when I go that I will try something new. It was a quite rainy day lunch so the restaurant was quiet, ambience was great and we enjoyed a nice girls lunch!
Our server, Jamica was excellent. The food was very very good for all 4 of us. Also welcome and other servers were very good! We will be back.
Amazing food - great experience
When I come to TBahama, I forget that I am in DFW, and with the food ambiance and service feel like I’m at the beach .
GREAT food & drinks, TERRIBLE service as usual here...also it was uncomfortably hot inside
Took my friend and her husband out for birthday dinner. They had a gentleman playing guitar, Eagles music, it was perfect. The restaurant had fans and a swamp cooler to keep things comfortable in the Texas heat: we sat outside.
The food was great and the drinks were very good too.
The service was great, very cordial. And, of course, the food was wonderful!
My family and I came here for the first time last night to celebrate my sister and brother-in-law's 7 year wedding anniversary. It also happened to be restaurant week. we all opted for the four course dinner special, starting with the following cocktails: cucumber smash, frozen mai tai, pina colada & blueberry smash mocktail. They brought out the most delicious bread accompanied with cinnamon butter. As a starter, I opted for the crab bisque (delicious!) and my family opted for the wedge salad. For course two, we got the coconut shrimp (everything about that dish is delicious, even the cole slaw) and the macadamia nut crusted goat cheese. For our third course, we got the macadamia nut crusted snapper, Parmesan crusted sanibel chicken and blue cheese crusted petite filet mignon. We all raved over dinner. The portions were so filling, we all left with to go containers. Added to that, the service was impeccable! We will all be back.
Great Experience- Love the live music.
Great food, nice specialty cocktail menu. Wonderful for kids and adults alike. We are always pleased by our experiences at TB!
Great casual dining atmosphere. I liked that they had someone playing music and would love to see a variety of music played on different days (i.e. Sunday jazz). Was a little disappointed that there wasn't much offered for restaurant week in terms of a special meal item. If there was, it wasn't mentioned by the waitress, who although nice, was a little slow. I got a refill on my drink after I finished my meal. She should have kept up with this, especially considering this restaurant type with moderate pricing.
Great service and my family enjoyed the different beachy foods and ambience.
Food was fantastic. Visit started out a little rough. Had reservations and had to wait about 5 minutes just to check in at the door. I had asked for indoor seating and restaurant week menu. They tried to seat us outside and had to go ask permission to give us the restaurant week menu. Very hot inside too. Staff was obviously warmer then we were. Our first 2 courses came at the same time and salads had wrong dressings but were fixed. No salt or pepper on the table. Wait staff very attentive. Will give it another try. Love Vic Duncan.
Good cross over food and drinks, nice waiter.
Food was good except my fish tacos were cold. The live music was great. Took a long time to get drink orders. The wait staff was very friendly.
