Tommy Bahama - Newport Beach
We sat outside even though it was drizzling. It was quiet and romantic. Great food as always, great service. We will be back!
This is one ugly restaurant. They were closed for quite a while to remodel, just to open with it feeling like a cafeteria with formica tables and walls. I've eaten at other Tommy Bahamas restaurants, and this one has none of the feel of the others I have been to.

Everything was fantastic, especially the food, wine and service. I had the ribeye, husband had the halibut and Mom had the filet. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so good I’m looking forward to going back in a couple weeks! Our waiter, Scott, was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had!

Always delicious food and variety in menu items. lovely service. but, we were by the door, which was left open and the night was pretty cold so our group ate dinner in our heavy coats.
When checking in for our lunch reservation, I was told that my party was already seated. I was dumbfounded that someone had actually used my reservation, my name, to secure a table.
Food was good overall but service was slow. Also overpriced.

The food at the restaurant is very good and is at a reasonable value. The waitstaff was attentive to a large party next to us but virtually ignored our table. Our server forgot to bring the requested ice tea refill and the dessert order took forever to arrive; much later than when the bill was dropped off.
Lastly, the front of the restaurant nearest the store was a "virtual icebox". Repeated requests to turn down the A/C went nowhere. Everyone in the front section of the restaurant had sweatshirts and jackets on throughout the meal. It was a cold rainy evening and the A/C was on. I said to the host/hostess on the way out when winter comes they will need to take blankets from the store to give to the customers in the restaurant while dining. It truly was uncomfortable and took the edge off of what should have been a nice evening.
A favorite! Love the remodel! Very attentive service without being too much. Everything is delish here!
The remodel makes one feel as though they are dinning in a “department store” restaurant. The food and service remain exceptional, but the noise level and environment are unacceptable. We’ve been dining here for years, this might just be our last.
Great food and we had an exceptional server named Chance. Personality spirit added to the fun time we had. Manager was great too
Nice but a few issues... we were seated inside but the patio doors were open and it was so cold I kept my down jacket on! The food was mostly lovely although the greens with my beet salad were so wilted that it was hard to tell if they were even greens. I should’ve sent it back. And mostly annoying - and not a big deal was that the menu prices were lower on the sign out front than on the menu. The renovated space is nice but I do miss the warmer tropical vibe. Would still go back but order differently next time!
Food is not the same, way to much tarragon in the wedge salad. Appetizers were great, but the mains were not up to par. There were six of us and we all thought the food was not nearly as good as it has been before???? Service was good, remodel is beautiful but I want the old menu back.
The renovations have removed most of the character. The food was still good, however the ambiance has lost that tropical Tommy Bahama atmosphere.
This a great spot to meet friends or family. Really nice bar. Great food. Hit this place often when in town.
Dinner was delicious, including the Ahi Poke Nachos, Mahi Mahi and the spaghetti squash bowl. Unfortunately our credit card was hacked later that evening, not sure if that is just a coincidence that we had last used it at the restaurant but next time we will pay at the register.
Tommy Bahama's was great! The food was delicious and our server, Sergio, was excellent. My son and I hadn't been to the Tommy Bahama's in Newport Beach for a few years (before their remodel) because the last few experiences were awful, i.e., the food and service was poor, and the menu selections weren't appealing. However, I'm glad we went back. The popcorn shrimp were delicious; the batter was light and fluffy and the shrimp were not greasy. Our salads were equally delicious. My son had the mahi mahi, and he said it was very good. I had the ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone delicious. We finished dinner with the pina colada cake--decadent! I'm glad we gave Tommy Bahama's another try; they really upped their game from a few years ago. The restaurant is a little pricey, but otherwise a wonderful experience.
Great waiter, great restaurant!
Upon arrival there was no one at the hostess/host station. We walked over by the bar, because we thought maybe we were not at the right station. Walked back to where we were, passed by at least 6 workers. Finally 3 people came over and not one of them greeted or made eye contact . When I asked if I was at the host station their response was do you have a reservation . And I did. We finally get seated . And I watched 3 other family’s experience the same thing. The food was really good and our waiter was great. But I don’t think I would go back and deal with that again, not for what they charge.
The whole group loved their food, from the shrimp bowl, salmon bowl, burger and pork sliders...all were fantastic! The service was great and our iced teas remained full. Lovely time!
So sorry to see that the remodel didn't meet my expectations. Now it looks like any other contemporary restaurant. No Hawaiian vibe left at all. Food was great but a little pricey for lunch. 2 entrees, drinks and appetizer for $125 with zero view seems a bit high.
Dining at TB is always a treat. Excellent food, professional staff, quiet atmosphere, excellent renovations of the restaurant. Always bring friends to this excellent restaurant.
I liked the new brighter decor, food still top notch, and everyone must stay for the pineapple creme brûlée.
A family favorite. The new patio is a treat. Larger bar inside, so can be noisy in there. But love the food and service.
Enjoyed a Saturday night dinner with friends. The food was delicious, the service was great, and there is live music which improved our experience!
Coconut shrimp can't be beat and the filet mignon salad is delish!

the music was nice but too loud. It should be a soft background. It was difficult to visit with our guests. Everyone enjoyed their food.

I always find it annoying to check in at your restaurant. You always have to wait awhile to get seated. We were maybe 5 minutes early for our lunch reservation at noon and the hostess said, wow you’re early I have a lot of tables to seat before you...meanwhile there was one person waiting to be seated and they just walked in...I actually had a reservation. I understand if you’re late having to wait but 5 minutes early with plenty of open ta

Very pleasant lunch at Tommy Bahamas. The remodel of this restaurant made the atmosphere more open and inviting. Friendly service, wonderful food, beautiful setting.
Unfortunately the food and service were great but there were termites flying around everywhere in my food, my hair and on the table. This definitely made our experience less pleasant!
On me if our favorite restaurants in Corona Del Mar, my fiancé and I dine there all the time, great service , delicious food and we LOVE life music, you simply can’t go wrong! We just LoVe it!
