Tomatina - Union City
**We are open for Dine in, outdoor dining, Takeout, Curbside pickup and Delivery**
Tomatina is a classic Italian restaurant. This is a casual and relaxed Italian neighborhood restaurant. As a sharp contrast to fine Italian dining, this is a place to enjoy a glass of wine and unwind with unpretentious pasta dishes served in hearty portions. Tomatina is designed to appeal to as many people as possible, which is why they carry a vegetarian, gluten-free and children's menu in addition to their regular ones. Each month, Tomatina offers seasonal specials in addition to the normal menu. Staples of the menu that guests can always count on are dishes such as the mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich, ravioli di formaggi, mini-hand tossed pizzas.

The food was horrible
Quickly set up our table, out in the patio as required. Server was engaging and anticipated our needs. Food was excellent, our group tried the seasonal melon & prosciutto salad, the seasonal summer pappardelle pasta, garden pizza, shiitake mushroom pizza, and the terrific garlic knots. A perfect summer evening of good food & conversation.
Wasn’t bothered or rushed. Good experience.
Fast service good food.
We made our reservation but once we arrived at the restaurant they told us they didn’t pay attention to it. Which was upsetting that they disregarded the fact we made one. It’s not on us if they didn’t acknowledge the fact their restaurant is still listed on open table. We had to wait longer for a table since it was busy and they didn’t fully accept our reservation time. Once seated it wasn’t explain that everything was encouraged to order on the phone with the QR code however the waiter was nice enough to still take our order verbally.
Great place ! Great food !
Good time had good service and will recommend to anyone one else .
Service was very slow.
Ambience is great & place is kept clean, but food & service were definitely not the quality expected of a $200+ meal for 5. Drinks took forever to be made, food was pretty underwhelming, & while our server was nice, there wasn't any sense of urgency. Also took us almost 30min to get seated after showing up 5min early to a reserved time. That alone was a really poor way to start the night out.
Very laid back atmosphere with good food and great service.
Awesome Services, server Bobby was Extraordinaire. Also the Manager, Jessica was Superb!! Thanks for accommodating me for my Twins 30th Birthday Event. Love, Love the Garlic Rolls ❣
The food was great ! Our waitress jessica was very attentive and friendly !
Love this place ! The food and the drinks are great ! Great place for the family !
Really enjoy the staff. We come here a lot. Thanks.
Wonderful service from our waiter
Good food and service. The place is clean, simple and enjoyable.
The taste cannot be duplicated anywhere but here
Our go to for a Italian fix. Always been good and consistent.
Everything was delish ! Service and food for our birthday celebration!
Great for groups! Food and service were both great for our group dining. Appetizers were quite delicious as were our entrees. If any thing could use a step-up it would be the dessert. They were OK, but not as enjoyable as the rest of our meal.
Went for a nice, non-traditional Easter dinner. The food was disappointing - pretty tasteless. My friend asked for "light sauce" on her pasta -- it was swimming in a butter-based sauce when it arrived. She said, "I'd hate to see what regular sauce is." I had shrimp and angel hair pasta -- with tails on so I had to dip into the sauce with my fingers to wrestle the tails off. Strange. Also, (and this seems to be common theme in a lot of Open Table restaurants), people who greet you tell us they don't know how to check us in for an Open Table dine. It's frustrating, because we have to ask (sometimes more than once) before someone can tell us if we are actually checked in, and even then, it's not a response that gives us "warm fuzzies"! This time, we were told a "manager would have to do it (check us in)" - said manager, whomever they were, didn't come and tell us they had done it. When we asked again, the server said she "didn't see anything, so we 'must be' (checked in)." Ooo-kay. Are we or are we not? Seems very disorganized and presents an image of people being untrained and unconcerned about diners' concerns. We've dined at this restaurant before and had very tasty food and great service, this time, our server did fine (with order-taking and bringing food), but the rest of the experience, not so much.
Greeter and manager didn’t know how to answer my question about Open Table check-in. One of four orders was incorrect. Non-plastic straws were not offered.
Thank you for the great service. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious. Thank you once again. Maybe you can have coupons , which can bring more people in to taste the good food.
Our waitress was efficient, she was knowledgiable of the menu and the ingredients.
The only draw back not at the restaurant but at the table next to us, had a screaming child, you think they would take that child outside to calm them down instead they just let the child scream it off.
