Italian
Our family-friendly Italian restaurant is conveniently located in the Montgomery Village Shopping Center at the corner of Sonoma Avenue and Farmers Lane.

Tomatina is a classic Italian restaurant. As a sharp contrast to fine Italian dining, this is a place to enjoy a glass of wine and unwind with unpretentious pasta dishes served in hearty portions. Tomatina is designed to appeal to as many people as possible, which is why they carry a vegetarian, gluten-free and children's menu in addition to their regular ones. Each month, Tomatina offers seasonal specials in addition to the normal menu. These offerings have included a chicken apple salad, roasted cauliflower pizza and even a proscuitto and fig piadine. Staples of the menu that guests can always count on are dishes such as the mozzarella and prosciutto sandwich, ravioli di formaggi, mini-hand tossed pizzas and a chicken spaghettini with spinach, parmesan and an onion-tomato broth.

We came and the table was readay for us. The waitstaff ask us if we’d rather have a booth and made it happen. Our server was energetic, helpful and polite. The wait for our meal was minimal. Really nice and we’ll be back!

The food was so fresh, perfectly seasoned, and just delicious! We made our reservation via Open Table and the restaurant was fully ready for us, with a nice table all ready & set up for us. I was very impressed. We quite enjoyed ourselves!

A perfect dining experience. Fast service, great food, wonderfully attentive waiter (Guillermo) and nice manager who came by and checked in on us. Greeter/hostess excellent as well. We will be back, and will bring some friends!

Cocktails were very watered down. Food was lukewarm and probably microwaved. There was a childrens bday party that was so noisy my grandparents couldnt enjoy their meal until they left. Would not recommend at all.

I love the food at this place. All my meals have been delicious! The staff is friendly and I enjoy the environment as well! The only complaints are just that I was left relatively thirsty, and even though they were not very busy, and the food had been cleared from our table, we waited about 20 minutes before we finally asked for out bill. I also had made a reservation ahead of time and mentioned there was a birthday, but I'm not sure there was any point because there wasn't anything special done (was hoping at least a scoop of ice cream with a candle?) But alas.
The food is amazing, so I will more than likely return. I will just be sure to allocate time to be there as it does seem to be a bit slow once the food is served...

Our group of ten had a good experience! This was our third gathering at Tomatina in as many years. Most enjoyed their meals and the varied menu offered something for everyone. We received good service with two exceptions. First, the two-sided specials menu had very appealing weekday specials not available on our Sunday visit. It would have helped had we been reminded to focus on the daily specials (which was facing up). One of our group rushed her new choice which was not to her liking. Returning to that person after all other orders were taken might have helped. Second, one person ordered a side of veggies that weren’t delivered. Upon inquiry, mid-meal, we learned the dish hadn’t been prepped! At that point it was too late and we had to cancel the order. An alert to the patron as early as possible was appropriate here. That said, overall it was a good experience!

My salad from the monthly specials menu was excellent, however the rest of the meal was not great.
Seemed like more of a pizza place than an Italian restaurant.

This is one of our favorite places to have a good Italian dinner. We have enjoyed individual to family style plates and it has always been good. The small Garlic Rolls are very good and tasty

Had a really lovely dinner here....the piadina with figs and prosciutto was delicious. As was the ravioli with corn, bacon and squash! Comfort food deluxe....we thought this was very good value for what we spent. We had 2 apps, 2 mains, 2 cocktails and a beer, dessert and 2 expressos and got out for just over $100 and were full and satisfied....service was attentive and friendly. We will go back!

I’ve heard a lot of advertising for this restaurant. My fiancé and I were looking for a new restaurant to try for date night. Wasn’t impressed. Won’t be back all too soon.

No bread service. No cheese in the lasagne. Look up a recipe. My Italian grandmother would have been mortified. Weird version of a antipasto. It was more like a salad.

I came with my daughter and grandchildren. They had a Tomatina's near them in Marin County which closed recently--it was always a favorite. The food and service were great; will definitely be back!

First time at this restaurant. It was very noisy and the service was severely lacking. Perhaps the waiter was new? Would not return unless I was looking for a place to bring a group of kids.

We had a delightful experience at Tomatina. The food was delicious and the waiter, a lovely man from Spain, was terrific. We hadn’t been to Tomatina for quite some time but we will definitely be coming back!

food was good, but the service was massively slow. They were short staffed. I know that the minimum wage law is really hurting restaurants, but I only saw one waitress in our large area. That was just too thin. We waited and waited for everything. Don't add a surcharge to the tab as they do in SF. However, I wouldn't mind a SMALL rise in prices to cover another server in the evening hours.

The staff was nice enough to hold our cake in their fridge until after the dinner. Thank you on that front.

I just want to see more wait staff. EVerything else was just fine.
