Great experience and accommodations!! It’s always good good and the service always awesome! we did have to wait at least 15-20 mins when we arrived and we had a reservation. The host was very helpful and accommodating with us waiting.
Tom Brown’s Restaurant has a great environment, wonderful staff, and mouth-watering food. Such a great restaurant to be added to the North Alabama area, and I will definitely have dinner their again.
Food was definitely good quality but wasn’t cooked or seasoned very well. Scallops were too salty and a steak that cost 44 dollars was way too rare. Shrimp and grits had shrimp that was way over cooked. Took a really long time to come out. I really expected more
All 6 of us loved our meals. Cocktails were great too. The alligator appetizer was the best by far of any I have tasted. Our server was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Flawless experience.
This restaurant is excellent! It was Friday night date night for the wife and I. This was our first time here and I chose this restaurant through recommendation from a friend. The entire experience there was A+! We will most definitely go back! Everything we ordered, from appetizers to coffee and dessert was on point!
My friend and I were looking for great seafood and a steak, so we tried the new restaurant. We made a reservation days in advance. We were given a small table for two tucked in a corner. The unfortunate problem is we were seated next to a VERY LARGE AND VERY LOUD group that obviously reserved fewer seats than people. They had more people than space so there were people piling on the bench that was shared with our table which encroached upon our space. There were people standing over us multiple times and it became very uncomfortable. Our safe socially distant space was null and void.
The food. I’d give it 5 stars BUT I ordered a lobster tail as an add on to my meal. One lobster tail was $30!!! And it was a normal size lobster tail. I still ordered it... I was EXTREMELY disappointed when our food came and the lobster tail was cold. The butter was cold. We had waited a long time for our food so I just ate the $30 cold lobster tail so we could finish dinner and leave. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was AMAZING!!! My friend ordered the 12oz ribeye and it was AMAZING!!!
With all the money we paid and the time, I expected a different experience because after all that’s part of what you’re paying for... I’m not sure we will return. And, we will forewarn our friends.
The decor is very lovely. Our server Adrian seemed like he was all over the place not sure if it was due to table assignments or what was the deal with that. We had to ask for a server when sat down and had to wait for a bit before someone greeting us at the table. Our drinks didn't get refilled. This is something I would suggest that need to worked on. Attend to your table! The food was great. There are so many other things I want to try so I will go back. Hopefully my experience will be better.
Great experience overall. The only negative I can think of is it is loud. Difficult to hear others at the table. Even with that we will definitely go again. Great experience.
My $40 steak was full of gristle. I was very disappointed!
The patio was a little too cold for a dinner setting.
This was our second time trying Tom Brown's, our first visit did not go well at all, but it was early in their opening. Our second visit was significantly better but still not good enough to make this restaurant a go to place. We found the appetizers to be very small for their price. Drinks were good and inventive. Our server forgot to put in our salad orders or forgot to bring them so we went from appetizers directly to entrees. We were okay with it but speaks to the service. The entrees were good but the value is just not competitive with other fine dining restaurants in town. The plating and dessert tray seemed outdated and reminded me of a chain restaurant. I wanted to love it the second time but it still won't be at the top of our dining list.
Everything was amazing! Will definitely go again!
Great food and drinks. Great staff an selection. My only complaint is the bathrooms don't have foot pulls and have paper towel rolls instead of a touch less dispenser.
First time eating at Tom browns on new years day. Had a reservation. Table was ready when we got there. Server was Amy. She was great. She made some very nice drink suggestions. We had the crab claws and gumbo for appetizers. Both very good. Gumbo really good. Full of meat and has nice little heat. Got the 16 oz ribeye with grilled shrimp, fries, and Caesar salad. Steak was very good and tender. My friend had the mahi. Prob the best I ever tasted. Ill be back. Very nice first experience.
The only 2 things that I could have a negative comment are the mashed potatoes my friend had were extremely dry. And my steak while good looked butchered rather than cut. It didnt look very presentable. Looked kinda like a scrap steak. But it was good.
Still give 5 stars for a good meal. Good drinks. And good service and great suggestions from Amy.. And the prices are not as bad as some reviews claim. They are on par with other restaurants of the same level.
Everything ranging from the service, food, and experience have me and my husband coming back again and again.
Service and decor were nice. Food was not adequate for price point.
Loved our dining experience! We will definitely be back.
New Years eve
Food and drinks were amazing
Great place to eat and socialize! Would highly recommend!
Great food and great service. Good experience each time we go.
Outstanding atmosphere! Service was top notch and food presentation and taste was great
You must go! Best restaurant by far. Don't waste your time anywhere else if you want superb food and service. Tom Brown is far better than any other restaurant in town. Steak and Fish, salad were fabulous. Even though the wedge was not a true wedge salad the homemade blue cheese dressing made up for it. Also, Collin was our waiter and was fantastic. Made the evening run smoothly. Tom came by our table to check on us as well. You pay for what you get so it isn't cheap but not a pricey as others in town. Note that we had a 30 minute wait on a Wednesday evening with a reservation-so heads up on that.
It is our new favorite restaurant in town!! For a romantic dinner I would prefer more partitions in the main eating area by the hostess, so ask for a secluded table. The space where we sat felt a little too open for that but was perfect for our get together. Outside looked lovely. Loved the decor inside as well. Very unique chandeliers and art work. Thanks for a great evening!
My new favorite special occasion place to go!! We dropped $320 for 3 people and I’d do it again! The lamb shank is like none other!! It took me back to the good old days at Jazz Factory downtown Huntsville! The filet and the pork chop was amazing as well! Thanks Tom Brown for making a night with our mom so special!
The service was amazing and it was way more pleasurable than expected. The food was great, it's a good place for a celebration dinner.
This is a nice place to eat. The food and service was great. Clam chowder is delicious. I am definetly going back.
Very good food. The filet was amazing. Try the Mean Greens egg rolls.
Great service! Food was wonderful though the wahoo was a tad dry. Love this place!
Tom Brown was cooking that evening, he came out to meet our party. We were there celebrating a sixtieth wedding anniversary.
Wonderful atmosphere and phenomenal food.
If you haven’t tried this spot please go ASAP. The owner and chef Tom brown is a wonderful man who takes pride in his food and personally checks on the patrons to make sure they are having an exceptional experience. Food is amazing here. Service is excellent. My favorite restaurant I have ever eaten at.
The restaurant has a cool and fun vibe...chandeliers, velvet chairs, beautiful patios with fires and heaters, etc. Our food and cocktails were all delicious...tomahawk steak, seafood, soups, children’s menu, etc. Our night started at the bar because we were early and we were quickly disappointed to discover they don’t allow outside wine bottles (obviously we would pay the corkage fee, it’s just something our family enjoys along with the cocktails we order with our meals) and they had no oysters, after we’d been given an oyster menu. All of that was made up for with our food and drinks so we moved on. The thing all of us still can’t get past is the lack of social distancing and poor mask wearing by staff. The bar was not distanced at all, with people sitting side by side (another customer actually asked me to move my purse so she could sit right beside me). The tables in the main area were spread a little bit until we realized they didn’t actually leave any of them empty. We could turn around and pat other people on the back if we wanted to. And I cannot tell you how many staff approached our table, spoke to us or served us with a mask not covering their nose. We think they have a good thing going and will do well and we’re excited about their new location being closer to us but in these crazy times their lack of extra caution made a big impact on us. When making a reservation try to request a table in a back corner and I think you’ll be very happy, it was our first time so we didn’t know to do that.
Best restaurant in Madison and Huntsville. Great food, service, decor, well worth the price. The owner Tom even stopped by and capped the perfect evening off. Good for any occasion.
Definitely recommend the firecracker shrimp! Would eat here again!
Wonderful! Food was amazing!
Everything is wonderful ... food is awesome and the people are super nice. Desert try, be prepared!!
It was our first visit to Tom Brown’s and our wedding anniversary. The service was great but, had a little sticker shock on the menu prices. But once we received our meal it was all well worth it... Great atmosphere and enjoyed the background music. We will definitely be back to enjoy more of the entrees.
