Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina's contemporary Mexican bistro located in the Upper East Side. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina's creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Along with the authentic Mexican menu and an exceptional tequila list, we offer elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Greeted and seated at the requested location at the bar. Both bartenders were awesome. Vanessa the hostess was terrific and she has done a magnificent job training Daniel. Food was very good, hot food was hot and cold cold.

There’s no better spot on the Upper East Side! Perfect for lunch or dinner after enjoying the Metropolitan Museum or the Guggenheim. Daniel, Vanessa, and Juliana at the door are most welcoming. Rafa and Marcial behind the bar make the best margaritas in New York City (the secret? Cointreau and fresh lime). The service is top notch, especially if you’re in Claritza, César, or Rosa’s sections! And the food — from the excellent (new) strip steak to the Mexican-influenced salmon sushi — takes Mexican cuisine to a new level. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food good, service not good, noise Level in middle room almost intolerable and there were only 3 tables total in there. Bus boys spoke no English. Food far more expensive than ever before. Not sure I would go back and it used to be one of my favorites .
