Toloache - Upper East Side
Appetizers were good. Steak wasn’t cooked to temp or properly. Cocktails good. Service excellent.
Great service. The food and drinks were really good. Ambiance was really nice. Also, the three taco mahi mahi special was fantastic and hope to see it on the menu again. My friends and I can’t wait to go back again!
Be aware that this restaurant is as.ays very noisy, but the food is usually worth it. Not so this time. The shrimp atop the shrimp quesadilla tasted of iodine, and perhaps wasn’t as fresh as it should have been. The chicken enchiladas reminded me of a chicken pot pie just wrapped in corn tortillas. Disappointing, as this was my go to for Mexican in the neighborhood.
High end Mexican food and cozy restaurant. My Mexican friends reconnended it and say it's authentic. Every bite delicious!
Food always tastes great. Not sure why it all has to be delivered at the exact same time - especially when you order 15 small plates....
Great staff, excellent food.... an all time favorite.
Food was good. Restaurant full and noisey. Service very slow probably because of fullness. French fries were great!
Maybe at an off time but the tables are very close together and it's incredibly loud. Definitely not as good as it was when it first opened.
Great food. Great service. Loved our evening here!!
Such a friendly and delicious find. Love it!! I’ve been here twice and sat at the bar both times and followed the recommendations of the very knowledgeable bar tenders.
Great good great service
The food here is amazing. This is our new go to place for Mexican food for dinner.
Food excellent as usual; service great- his suggestions were right on
Outstanding service and yummy food. Great ambiance though it was a bit loud at peak dinner time. Very kid friendly as well.
Excellent brunch spot
Back of restaurant way too loud
We had a light lunch - crepes, which were very good, followed by churros and flan for dessert- outstanding.
The avacodo fries were fantastic and so was my breakfast burrito. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. Great place.
The host was super accommodating when we showed up early with an extra guest. Food was delicious, service was on point. Really happy with this place.
Simply the best Mexican in NYC
This was the third visit to Toalache. First two were great, though this time however, was very poor service indeed. Waiter was brusque - bordering on rude - was impatient to explain menu items and had to be reminded to bring an ordered drink. After dinner coffee which was ordered was not served. We felt very rushed as if they wanted to turnover the table very quickly. In all, it was not a pleasant dining experience.
I love this place. But food was very disappointing this time. Not sure what went wrong, I ordered the same Timbada that I always get but it was not nearly as good as the many other times I've ordered it. Our waiter got our drinks wrong as well. I'll definitely be back, but I was taking an important client to dinner and frankly had oversold her on the food...one more try...
One of our faves on the UES - always flavorful food, quick service, and great menu
I love this place! Food is great and the atmosphere very happy. It makes you in a good mood
Friendly owner. Great ambience. Delicious food. Trendy and fun for a group get together. Will definitely return again!
Best Mexican food in NYC!!!!
Brunch. Great flavor, freshness, service and ambiance. Great staff.
Great place for a late night stack: sublime tacos great margaritas
Charming and welcoming place. Very good food. Will definitely go back.
Loved the food! Great menu! I’m a CA girl and know my Mexican food. This was terrific!
The food was delicious as always. But they were not very friendly or attentive like they were on Valentines day when we spent a lot of money. We went for brunch it was my first meal of the day and I didn’t want to drink on an empty stomach. The waiter wasn’t happy when we didn’t want a starter or drinks. You shouldn’t be nice and welcoming only when patrons spend a lot of money...
Always stellar, love this restaurant!!
We had brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded, yet the service was on the slow side. But the food was good. Menu says at the bottom "Ask for our vegetarian menu" - but when we asked, the waiter said that many items on the vegetarian menu were not prepared yet, so would take a while if we wanted to order them. It turned out that the regular menu has plenty of vegetarian options; the exchange was just a little odd.
Was good food was great and service lil pricy but good over all
We frequent this restaurant regularly. This time the service was a bit on top of us. And it was disappointing
Love this place. Best guacamole I’ve ever had, consistently. It’s around the corner from my house so I go often and it never disappoints. Delicious upscale Mexican food and a great assortment of drinks and especially tequilas.
After our favorite brunch place permanently closed, we were eager to find a new spot. This may be it! Well presented, good quality Mexican food. A bit pricier than we’re used to, but not unreasonable considering the quality, area, and cost of keeping a restaurant open these days. A great first visit.
vibrant atmosphere with a great variety of delicious margaritas.
Food is delicious
