Toloache - Upper East Side
Very good Mexican food at a reasonable price. Enchiladas and duck are especially good. Jícama salad also very good.
Very good food as always and excellent service. Only negative was noise level which is always high and sometimes desfeningy
Great menu, excellently prepared, and great service. Very simpatico !
Yes. Delicious Mexican food. Very nice service and prompt attention to our food.
Way to expensive for the quality and size of the food!
Food is very good. We had the medium guacamole with the pomegranates (delicious and unusual), and then we shared three variations of the tacos, for a total of 6 tacos to share between two people, which makes a nice meal.
Service super; food excellent;
Not your typical Mexican fare. A little more unusual and creative. Really delicious. Lots of vegetarian options. Great margaritas, too!
Thanks to Dan for all of your help! See you next time!!
My friend and I had both the regular guacamole and the "fruited" version with pomegranate. Both were very good. Also, the ceviche appetizer and cod and duck entrees were extraordinary.
We had a wonderful Hanukkah celebration. Toloache's special menu couples with selections from their regular menu made for a delicious and fun family evening.
Food was okay, I have been coming here for years and it just wasn’t the same. Not sure if the chef changed but the service & food have definitely gone down hill within the last 6 months
Great food and reasonably priced. It your typical Mexican restaurant so no chips and salsa on the table. Everything tasted great but the service was not great. The decor was cool. I would go back for sure despite the service.
loved my skinny margheritas and the absolutely amazing steak
we were so lucky that we went on a slow night. Great service and not too noisy!
Dined here early Christmas night. For all the busier it was the service was just ok. The food, however, was excellent.
I ordered the steak with Mole enchilada and it was amazing! As I Mexican I can say the have a great variety of real Mexican food! The staff is very friendly! Perla specially! I’ll definitely come back!
Absolutely delicious food! Our waiter made some excellent suggestions!
Really interesting tacos and drinks with novel ingredients and combinations of flavors. I did, however, find the noise level excessive. Fine for a really festive, alcohol-infused date or gathering of friends, but much too loud for a grown-up, civilized dinner. Sad because the food is sophisticated. If only the ambience were less jarring.
Great neighborhood spot and consistently good food and service.
Very good food and excellent service. We go there fairly often and it is reliably very good,
Main quibble is the noise level which is really high.
Some of that results from the many tiled and other sound magnifying surfaces in the restaurant.
But there was also very loud music playing
Seems unnecessary and tends to detract from otherwise really nice experience
We have mostly stopped taking out of town friends there because we can’t have a real conversation.
Friendly service, amazing food and delicious food. We will be sure to return.
Wonderful food, great service.
Mocktail they made me was atrocious, otherwise solid
Amazing food, spectacular bartenders and best service. Part led on a Tuesday night
Food is always excellent
Mexican heaven. When I get the south of the boarder urge I know where to go everything is excellent but go for the ribeye. Service is attentive and crazy enough the noise level adds to the atmosphere. Can’t wait for my next mex craving
Whether for traditional ishes (carne asada and guacamole) or more unusual things like the quesadilla with huitlacoche and truffle, everything was delicious. We love the margaritas and the tres leches cake with lemon. We'll be back soon!
This last time the service was surprisingly slow, with our waiters constantly forgetting our orders. Had been there before without any of these issues. Food was great as always and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Just this time, service was slow, with almost 1 hour to bring our food, and then forgetting about our coffee order until we asked about it to another waiter. The place wasn't even that crowded.
The food is always excellent, as is the selection of different tastes on the menu. Drinks are first rate but pricey. Service is good, but the extremely high noise level in the back room made it nearly impossible to hear the staff, and really detracted from our enjoyment. It's much quieter at the bar up front, or the patio.
All good as usual but so noisy!!!!
Love Rafael & Perla and that there’s a vegetarian menu.
Outstanding tacos. This is the place to have a bite of good food in a relaxing atmosphere. I love the pace.
this is my first time at this location. We sat in a very closed off location. Service was ok but I do recommend one of the other two locations. Village the best
Delicious. And fun
The food as always was great. Slow service. Freezing cold seating. Waiter not very attentive; I would have ordered another drink if he came by, which he didn’t.
I enjoyed siting outside on the patio! I usually sit at the bar meeting another mom for drinks and appetizers. Wonderful food as always, but has gotten pricey!
the food was exceptional and seasoned to perfection. I wasn't a fan of the flan with the popcorn but overall I only have great things to say. It was my 1st time after a colleague had been. The staff was attentive and made great suggests regarding food and drink choices. I will be back to celebrate the anniversary.!!
Expensive small portions. Lousy service. Cute place. Decent food.
Definitely aim for outside seating. More quaint and peaceful!
