Toloache Thompson St.
Great place to have a dinner with friends. My friend and I chose this place for Restaurant week. The food was great. The tacos árabes made me very nostalgic since I only have been able to eat those in Puebla, Mexico. My friend ordered the milanesa de pollo for her entree and the papas with rajas on top of the Milanesa was very delicious. It also reminded me of my mom’s cooking, since she makes milanesas de pollo and rajas con crema. Big thank you to the waiter for recommending my salmon to be cooked medium well. It tasted so good! I would definitely come back. Very curious to try out their margaritas.
Affordable prices for NYC and tasty authentic Mexican food
Service was great. Food was decent. Awesome vibe and aesthetic. Nothing to brag home about and probably won’t be back.
Outstanding meal. Everything was delicious and interesting. And the service was excellent.
Our server was great and very attentive. Nice varied food choices and food generally presented very well. Enjoyed and would recommend.
Was dying for the Cod which is my favorite dish on the UES location but though it was on the menu online it was apparently not on the menu anymore. Went all the way to Thompson for 2 apps and 2 drinks that cost 80 bucks
Love Toloache! Stumbled upon it a few years ago. I eat there for my birthday every year. The suadero tacos are amazing.
Fantastic brunch menu, the cachasa benidict and elotes are delicious. Brunch drinks are equally as good.
Great food and drinks, I would highly recommend it! This would not be my first choice place for tacos but their dinner plates were delicious.
The guacamole, potato fritters, and carne asada meal were very tasty. The ceasar salad and enchilada were not great. The place was super loud when we arrived and we had to scream to hear each other. Our waitress was amazing and friendly, super accommodating. I don't know if I'll go back to that location but it worked well for our needs that night.
Our group of 5 had a most memorable night with great food and drink. The medium guacamole with fruit was a huge favorite with all of us. Love the food here.
Fantastic service! We had a large group for a birthday party on the second floor and it was the perfect combination of festive + intimate.
Drinks are phenomenal, menu is a little unique.
*it is pricey*
We had an excellent meal. Food was flavorful and beautifully presented. Staff was great. We hope to return.
We absolutely loved their food!!! The menu was long and it was tough to decide on what to order. The ceviche, tacos, guacamole, and suckling pig were excellent. Can’t wait to go back again!!
Owners to resolve acoustic problem. Second floor too loud for conversational dining. Food and drinks always great.
I’m a big fan of Toloache, but this location is consistently not up to standards. Upstairs is incredibly loud. The service was insanely slow. The food was good, but not nearly as good as at 50th Street or the UES.
Wonderful experience as always. My wife and I always make a point to eat at Toloache at least once every time we are in NYC
Excellent food, service, ambiance. Always a treat.
What a nice surprise. Went there on Mother’s Day and as a treat my entrée was free. Very generous restaurant. Food was delicious. Some of the best salsa I ever tasted.
Food = excellent
Waitress = one of the best
Brunch special = the city’s best kept secret
Will FOR SURE be back!!
It was Cinco de Mayo and a little crazy!
The steak tacos tasted sweet like they had maple syrup on them. Not good at all. Food was sub par for the prices.
I have been coming to Toloache for years. Fun spot for bottomless brunch with friends. Service is a bit slow but would still recommend going.
Why is the first margarita always better than the second? Besides that, the food is solid and it’s usually easy to get a table. A neighborhood go-to.
They were super great about celebrating a birthday and even had the tres leches made! Thoughtful staff.
Overly spiced and overly salted food. Some food delivered cold. Filling the water glasses does not equal good service. Expensive for what is received.
the food quantity is small but very delicious. The service is amazing
Love Toloache in the theater district, so thought we’d try this one. Lively and energetic on a Friday night in the Village! Food was good, margaritas were ok..not as spicy as advertised and could have used a bit more tequila for the price.
Overall, would recommend as a fun Mexican spot in the Village!
My friend and I came to celebrate our birthday and have brunch here. This restaurant has bottomless brunch for $19 unlimited drinks certain one for 1 1/2 hr. This sounds like great deal right it is only if you could get the waiter attention. The place was empty only 3 tables occupied beside our table. My friend had to kept raising her hand to get the waiter attention like we was in school. We was only able to get 3 drinks in the 1 1/2 that we was there because even after putting in our order for 1 drink it took very long time. Maybe this is their way not to serve to many drinks to the customers but it’s called unlimited for a reason. I didn’t to ask for one last drink before my time was up. I called the waiter we’ll wave to him several times to come to our table after not sure how long he tells me my time is up for a last drink. I told him I’ve been trying to get your attention for quite some time now so it’s not my fault. I cant begin to understand why if the restaurant is empty the staff can not be more attentive. There was a point that I had to ask one of the employees that was cleaning up the other table to please tell my waiter to come to our table. The food was great but the service was very horrible. I will continue to go to your midtown location better service.
Good Mexican food beautiful place, but really noisy.
great over all restaurant for friends outing or a quick hangout !
Fabulous food and margaritas. Some of the best I have had.
It’s a neighborhood place for us. It’s always great food and friendly, efficient staff.
We were a group of six and everyone enjoyed the food and cocktails. We were seated upstairs, which is where they put the larger tables and the noise level was a bit extreme. The Shrimp Toloache was excellent as were the various beef dishes. Next time I will come with fewer people and sit downstairs where the ambiance seems nicer
Great location in the village! Staff was pleasant and provided great service. Fish Tacos, fruit guac and house margaritas were perfect!
I love Toloache! The food is so delicious and the energy of the place is always so lively. We were seated upstairs on a Saturday and the room was filled with birthday dinners and big groups. Ordered the Tumbada (Vera Cruz style paella) and I think that’s my favorite dish, now having it twice. We had the shrimp tacos, elote and plantains which were all delicious! Will definitely bring my friends here again.
We were seated 40 minutes late despite having a 9pm reservation. While it turned out fine because our plans after dinner were flexible, it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
