Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina’s contemporary Mexican bistro located in the heart of the Theater District. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina’s creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Our festive, two-story space features a guacamole and ceviche bar, a wood-burning oven, and an exceptional tequila list, along with elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We looking forward to seeing you soon.

Service and food were amazing, but the place is so loud it is hard to hear each other and waiter!
Despite the volume, I would go back again!

Great food and in a perfect location! The small portions are deceptively filling and everything was so fresh

Very in tune for show patrons. Tables too close together and noisy

My daughter and I had a nice dinner: pork tacos were the best! Churros for dessert was a perfect ending. All was good except for the waiter who was a little forgetful or distracted. He forgot to bring our sweet plantains (brought the side dish after we were done with dinner) and we had to flag someone to order our dessert. However, I would go back because they generally have great service.

Food is excellent. Portion sizes are perfect. Staff is friendly... everyone in our party of nine really enjoyed the entire meal. Very very busy...

I love the food at Toloache, but I have often found that even when I have a reservation, the front of house staff acts surprised that I have arrived and require us to wait up to 30 minutes for a table. This last experience, I waited at least 10 minutes for a reservation for 2.

Food was excellent. We were seated upstairs which was too warm but they addressed it. Carne Asada was excellent. Guacamole was excellent.

Delicious guacamole and gourmet tacos . The classic margarita was the best I’ve had in a restaurant.
