Solid meal near theaters.
Delicious. Great service.
Service attentive, food absolutely fresh, great combo
We were seated 35 minutes late before our Broadway Show. However, the manager did comp us guacamole and our first round of drinks. The service was good as was the food and margaritas. It is a bustling restaurant with good food but punctuality would be appreciated.
Pretty dismal had a reservation for 715. Finally seated at 8:00!
Without question the most authentic and delicious Mexican food we can ever remember having. Great menu, wonderful drinks and everything we had from appetizer to desert was excellent. The taste was authentic, properly cooked and served beautifully. The service was prompt and our waiter was knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions. If you like Mexican food, this is a must visit restaurant.
Great tasty food. Like everything in Manhattan really expensive especially for Mexican cuisine
Not at all good for celebrating special occasions .I have been to so many restaurants in New York City for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries but this is the first time I have seen any restaurant asking to pay per person for cutting bday cake. Myself and my family was super annoyed by the restaurant manager and server.
Great menu, great food, great atmosphere. Went with my wife and two teenagers prior to theatre and we all left satisfied. Didn't feel rushed either.
We loved this restaurant and will definitely go back. The service and particularly our waiter were amazing. The food was superb. All around wonderful experience.
WOW! What a great Mexican place! From the staff to the management and the food - it was an amazing experience! Our server was right on and Artmio the Manager came over, talked about some drink on the menu and asked if we had ever tried it and we said no so he brought the table the drink. The engagement from the staff was attentive and caring. The water glass was never empty and the food taste exploded in your mouth. I would visit this place each time I'm in NYC
My mum and I had a lovely meal at Toloache whilst visiting on holiday from Scotland. We were going to see Wicked and wanted something close to the theatre, this restaurant is a 2 minute walk away.
It doesn’t look much from the outside but is beautiful inside, especially at night. We sat upstairs which was lovely.
Very authentic Mexican food, none of your commercialised stuff which was lovely.
I would recommend and return if I was in the area.
The food was amazing! Every dish has distinct amazing flavors.
Very noisy. Food is excellent but they could turn off the bad music.
Found this great Mexican (not Tex-Mex) restaurant on a Zagat list of restaurants for locals. Hard to believe, since it was on the edge of The Broadway district. Definitely a local place. Food was extremely tasty - loved the short rib. Guacamole was prepared in front of our eyes. Fresh lime margaritas, but some other good options. Will be back the next time I’m in NYC.
Had a good meal, but felt very rushed. Food comes out super fast. Take your time order g and that can help. Authentic Mexican, awesome guacamole and chips!!
There are a million places to eat in NYC... But you better put this on your "must go" list. The ambiance is great... the service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was positively delicious!! Shrimp tacos, lobster tacos, ceviche, quesadillas...every bite was so tasty and packed with flavor. You simply can't go wrong!
it can be a little cramped and the service is attentive because they want to turn the table but definitely a good choice and value for the neighborhood
Really enjoyed the food and drinks! Great find when you want good quality Mexican food in the area
They were amazing with food allergies.
Initially waiting at the bar for our table, we couldn't resist imbibing on some margaritas! The jalapeno one was sooo good!! Highly recommend making reservations as this is a small restaurant (capacity 150). Once our table was ready we started with chips and salsa as well as the Carnitas tacos. Flavors bursting in your mouth with every bite. Our entrees were the pollo Toloache and the enchildas. Both were mouth watering delicious. The service was very good and ensured we had time to get to the theater for 8 pm without feeling rushed. If you are in the mood for mexican, this is a great place to satisfy your craving.
The guacamole was delicious and great margaritas! Fun place to go to before a show!
Kids Night in Broadway
Food was great - I highly recommended the brisket tacos.
The margaritas are very good but expensive. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Fun place!
Too loud and seating is awful. Jammed into a section next to strangers which ruined the ambience meal was quick but ok. Bland at best. Dissatisfied for sure.
Second visit here. Delicious from start to finish.
It was recommended by 2 very different people and we loved it!
Pretheater - got us out in plenty of time without being rushed Did take a long time to get attention so that we could place an order. But it end d up ok
Husband and I enjoyed a long weekend trip to NYC. Took an Open Table chance on the restaurant. We saw a play and then enjoyed a late night dinner. Fruit guacamole is excellent!! We got a shrimp quesadilla and a chicken quesadilla—all very good and not too much food for late-night dining. Felt a little rushed by the staff but understood as 11:00 reservations are approaching closing time for the kitchen and staff. Reasonably priced! Had a celebrity encounter as well which was cool!
We're from Cincinnati. Every time we visit NYC we make a point to dine at Toloache after a show. The food and service are always great. This might be the best Mexican Restaurant.
Our favorite restaurant in NYC
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the food here, and the service is always exceptional. But I can no longer bear the noise level. Dining can not possibly be enjoyable when guests can't even communicate with each other. It's just too crowded and packed together. Does this place meet fire law standards?
The acoustic was poor. Very noisy. Food was small portion and expensive. Taste of food was subpar.
Overall I would not go back. Service was slow. Bathroom had a long wait. Only one on first floor and had to go upstairs which has only one bathroom too.
The ambiance was great. However, the location is tiny and I felt claustrophobic. There was no privacy when having a conversation with your friend and/or date. The food and drinks were average at best.
Great experience! Awesome food. Highly recommended!
Great cocktails and food. Smaller portions so you don’t overeat.
Attentive service - excellent cocktails - delicious food in a very nice atmosphere. Very cognizant of theater goers and their time constraints , warm and friendly.
Great restaurant with delish drinks and good food. Clean bathroom and nice service. A little tight with space. Would go back for sure.
Great food and service
Would recommend for all occasions
Went for pre-theater meal with my 20 something daughter. Nice vibe, friendly unpretentious from greeting to service. Good mexican food for both carnivores and vegans. Great margaritas. Go and enjoy. Nothing not to like.
