The food is wonderful with hard-to-find authentic ingredients like huitlacoche, which I had combined with black truffle on a tortilla. The service is attentive and considerate. Really enjoyable evening!
The food and service were fantastic! Make sure to try the "sweet" guac!
Have been going to Toloache midtown for years. The location is great, whether for business or pleasure and especially for pre-theater. The food is Mexican cuisine and always excellent, the atmosphere is fun, and the marqaritas are always perfect. Toloache never disappoints.
Outstanding meal. They were able to accommodate last minute additions easily and everyone had a great time. Everyone felt taken care of and not overwhelmed.
Fantastic food and drinks in the theater district! This place is a gem and I make it a point to come back every time I'm in NYC...their carne asada, guacamole, and margaritas are delicious!
Great service and awesome food
2nd viait and it was fantaatic! We went pre-theatre and they were quick to get us served and out the door in time for our 8pm show! Highly recommend the guac!
Excellent meal -wonderful flavors and good service
Great food and welcoming service. Waiter went out of his way to ensure we were looked after.
Amazing good and drinks! Waiter was very good!! I’ll be back.
Great place to go before a Broadway show. Food is excellent and the servers accommodated us to ensure we got to our show on time. Only criticism is that it gets crowded and the tables are very close together upstairs. But that is common for NYC.
theater district find! great camarones; great guac. Crowded tables but fine for shorter meal pre-theater. Wish I'd known about it sooner!
Excellent food and ambiance and good value for money.
Delicious food, fair prices, great service, quick, authentic!
Food is so good! Dessert is so tasty must get churros and chocolate cake it has pop rocks on it!
I loved the interior of this place as soon as I walked in. Two levels; so cute! Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was delicious! The tables were close together but we actually talked to the parties on each side of us about Broadway shows, as it seems that alot of people who are eating there are headed to shows after dinner.
It was a great experience
Quest fundido tasted like over processed cheese. Chicken in tacos was diced very small and cooked beyond having any taste. Very disappointing
We had a great pre-theatre lunch here. The food and drinks were excellent. The restaurant is laid out well on two levels and very pleasant! The service was attentive and polite. Highly recommended!
The food, as always, was great. And our server was awesome. Didnt rush us despite the # of people waiting for a table. BUT we were seated next to the host kiosk and it was very noisy and cold. There is literally no waiting area when you walk in. There were on average 10-15 people waiting to be seated and standing right on top of us. Every time the door opened we were blasted w/cold air. And throughout our meal the hostess kept coming over and peering down at our plates to see how close we were to being finished. It was incredibly rude. I had reservations for later in the month but am going to cancel them.
Wonderful from start to finish. Food and service was outstanding!
My daughter and I had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the atmosphere and wait staff. Everything was clean beautiful and cooked to perfection. We will definitely return.
Pre theatre dinner. Very attentive service and food was great as usual!
Went here on the recommendation of a friend who said it was a good example of Mexican City food. Toloache-Midtown did not disappoint in any way. Great food, service, and atmosphere!
Staff unusually friendly and helpful. Service apt and agreeable. Food on prix fixe lunch good value but somewhat muggy as to taste. Very good value for $28.00 prix fixe. Avocado trio tasty and fine value.
The food and service are pretty good. The churros are my favorite! The only downside to our visit was how crowded it is. There were so many tables/people crammed in that it was hard to get in/out.
Great pre-show meal spot conveniently located near theaters. Awesome regional Mexican food!
New Year’s Eve dinner. The restaurant was extremely hard to get to on foot from my location on 5th Avenue. It was raining cats & dogs but I still made an effort and arrived 15min late.
The place was packed but the hostess still accommodated me and gave me an excellent table on the terrace upstairs.
The staff were all in a joyful mood and the food was exquisite. The music and ambience was fun and I ended up counting down to the New Year at the restaurant.
Food is authentic and delicious.
No tengo nada malo que decir, el ambiente “new year eve” era excelente. La comida estaba buena. El servicio fue excelente y nos atendieron en todo momento en español o inglés sin problemas.
The food was fantastic. Atmosphere was great but tables very close together, not a plus when the table next to you was drunk and loud. Could hear the entire conversation which made it difficult to have our own. But the staff and our waiter was great. Will definitely go back again if I ever come back to New York City.
Good spot for lunch before a show. Great guacamole, cocktails, and coffees.
Love this place ! Food is amazing and the Margaritas are delicious.
Pre-show dinner. We were seated more than 20 minutes past our reservation time, which is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars overall. Everything else was outstanding—food, ambience and service. The ceviche trio and guacamole were highlights.
Whole family, parents & teens, loves Toloache! Creative menu, delicious dishes up and down the whole thing, great drinks, wonderful crew: we’re long-time fans, freshly re-upped!
Excellent food and service! I would definitely return.
Toloache is consistently great. This time we had the short rib burrito which was very smooth and nicely flavored. Caesar salad was good too. Chips and salsa were nice consistency and flavor
Overall the ambiance and service was lovely. However the food portions were extremely small. We spent close to $300 (with tip) for a family of 4 (that included 4 drinks, 4 entrees, 1 dessert and 1 coffee, chips and guac) and we left feeling hungry. 3 of us had the Carne Asada and it was tasteless. My daughter had the quesadilla and it was the size of a small tiny cup saucer. The guacamole ($14 a cup) was delicious. Overall the experience was nice but I don't think it was worth the value at all. We will not return.
