Fantastic restaurant. Every dish we ordered was delicious!
Food was okay, but the service was very lacking.
Excellent spot for specialty cocktails and amazing food. All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating. This is one of my favorite go to restaurants.
Absolutely delicious food! Great atmosphere! Awesome margaritas! We went for dinner before a show and it was perfect. Thank you!!
Food was good. You pay for chips and salsa and no tortillas with the carne asada. Guac was yum and cool vibe.
In town for Broadway and anniversary. Great food and great location.
We loved our experience at Toloache! Food was delicious it was surprisingly quick even on a Saturday evening and we ordered several courses. Our waitress was so pleasant and attentive. We would definitely go there again!
We went before a Broadway show and it was just way too loud and crowded for us so we didn’t stay to eat.
Was there on a Friday night at 6:30 hosting a party of 8. It was crowded and loud, but the service was very attentive.
Toloache-Midtown was a very pleasant surprise. The night we went was two nights after Broadway reopened from covid, so it was very busy and the noise level was pretty high, but after the pre-theatre crowd left it was much better. The wait staff was very attentive in spite of being maxed out. The guacamole is some of the best I've had and the quesadilla de camarones is delicious. I will certainly be back.
Went for dinner before a show. Had read reviews and ordered some recommendations and our own choices. The hamachi ceviche was tasty, but we needed to order chips because it needed some type of textural element. Had the carne asada tacos and chicken toloache. Both meats were flavored and cooked deliciously, but the accompaniments left a lot to be desired. Also, the salsa is really just spicy smooth tomato sauce - not what we expected at all. The reviews really had us expecting something we didn't receive. But the service and ambience were very good. Oh! And the mojitos will give you a good buzz with just one ;) maybe we should have tried the gaucamole, it looked delicious!
The food never disappoints. One of my favorite restaurants.
The overall experience at Toloache was excellent. Gustave did a fantastic job of guiding us through the menu. He altered some of our choices so we could experience a couple of his favorite unique tasting dishes. The Black Truffle Quesadilla and the Suckling Pig Carnitas were unbelievable. We would highly recommend both Toloache and Gustave to anyone looking for a unique fine dining experience when visiting mid town!!!!!!

Was kind of noisy when we first got there. Food was amazing. Service was good but could have been better.
The food was great! No issues with the food at all. The chicken and steak tacos were fabulous. Our only issues were: 1) small portions 2) a la cart…which is odd for a Mexican restaurant (which we didn’t know until the food came). One would expect rice/bean…. But Nada. (2) tacos and that’s it 3) VERY overpriced! I’m not a cheap person, especially when it comes to a good plate of food. I’m always not a “big” eater. I never finish ANYTHING….ever! Here, not only did I eat the (2) small tacos for $19….but everyone in our party ordered a second plate. So, we literally ordered two dinners EACH (2 tacos per “dinner”). At $40/per person for (4) tacos each….. we could have eaten elsewhere and been just as satisfied.
My parents are picky and love this place so we always come when they are in town. Every single thing we ordered to eat and drink was great, with extremely friendly service on top.
Delicious food. Server was lovely, and while it took awhile to get our food, we had plenty of time to spare so we were happy to have a very relaxed brunch.
Our server was especially friendly and attentive
We ate outside, therefore the noise level was high. The staff was accommodating and the food was very good.
Looking for a quick bite before the theater? Toloache will do fine. Not for foodies, however.
Pricy but delicious. Get the chef's choice margarita!
Still the best chicken queasadilla I have ever had and the service is as good as it always has been!
Food and drinks great
Gustavo is amazing
Can’t wait to go back
We went here for lunch during a quick day trip into the city. It was our 1st time here and we chose it because of the good reviews. Toloache did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, the service was great and all 6 of us enjoyed the entire experience. We will be back!!
everything is so fresh and delicious been there many times never had a bad meal. The FRUTAS, Avocado, pomegranate, Vidalia onion, mango, apple, habanero, Thai basil is my favorite though I ask for the mild
In general a good place to dine. Please be prepared that this is Manhattan and guacamole is a whopping $15. The server forgot about our dessert twice. The best part was their mezcal drink, a must try. Good, but not good enough to repeat.
I’ve been to Toloache a couple times before and suggested it for dinner to my friends who were in town. We sat outside in one of their outdoor dining enclosures, and had the perfect meal. The guacamole is amazing, we got a second order for the four of us since the first was so good. My friend loved her drink, I can’t remember what it was called, maybe just the Toloache, and I loved my mango margarita. The service was great, and my friend loved the Carne Asada taco the server recommended her. All of our food was delicious and we left very full and happy. My friends were super impressed by my recommendation, so thanks Toloache!
First trip into the City since COVID shut downs. Wait staff and food was wonderful.
there were no tableside free chips and salsa then was charged a $2 for extra salsa.
we were also charged $3 for a very small container of pico de gallo. we asked the manager to talk it out but he was unwilling to give us a refund
Excellent food , excellent service
Great place! Many options for small plates and appetizers.
I had the Camerones Toloache, a garlic shrimp dish with many layers of flavor. Not spicy, but rather just a sparkle on the tongue (which is the level of spice I like). The coconut mojito was too delicious!
One shrimp dish was kind of bland tasting.
Otherwise everything was very good.
Our waiter was charming and exceptional.
Very good food quality. Great atmosphere. Friendly service.
The service is not great. We had a table of 6 and since gratuity is already added- well, our waiters were terrible. They forgot drinks, took forever to call over and never explained the food. We paid over $290 dollars for food that came out cold. I had to call the restaurant from my phone to literally call our waiter to the table. They forgot our high chair and do not have any coloring items or anything to keep small kids busy. Tried it once, probably not again. Some of the food items were good (steaks, shrimp, guacamole)
But the service!! Ugh!
Fabulous got last rsvp at 10:45p after jazz gig. Food spectacular service superb
Cramped and noisy, we were given the worst table squeezed between the bathroom the bar and the server station. Food was ok, fair for midtown Mexican but nothing special. Eh?
We ate outside, a bit noisy d/t construction next door. But not intolerable. A great lunch w/ spare rib tacos, jicama salad, great guac and very nice salsa that had a pleasant punch to the heat. Service was very attentive, nicely paced, and friendly. Place got great yelp reviews which led us to it. Will gladly come back for again when in the neighborhood.
