Chips & Salsa
Carne asada, chipotle salsa, avocado, onions, cilantro
Pulled chicken, tomatillo 5 chiles salsa borracha, Mexican cheeses, crema, radish salad
Our waiter was exceptional but the food was lukewarm and the restaurant was packed. Even though we had reservations, the receptionist struggled to get us seated after 15 min of waiting. Not peaceful.
Delayed at the airport and had to cancel original reservations. Flew in from San Antonio and was not planning on eating Mexican food while here. This place came in for the win. The drinks, food and service was so good. I’m glad we ended up here. Will definitely recommend for friends who want Mexican food in NYC.
This was a bustling place before our broadway show, but completely worth it. Great and friendly staff, delicious food served quickly and lovely cocktails. We had seafood arroz con maricos / seafood paella (crazy good) and lobster tacos with margaritas and a watermelon margaritas. We will definitely go back!
La comida tardo mucho y llego fria
Perfect for theatre-goers.
Appreciate their Covid safeguards. Very good food
and service at a reasonable price in a charming space. We’ll be back.
Delicious and innovative Mexican food in Theater District. Perfect for pre- or post-theater.
We had brunch before the theater. The food was excellent as was the service.
Went here before a Saturday matinee. Right after we ordered, the place was slammed with customers. The result was that our appetizer took much longer to come than it should have, and the main course came before we completely finished the appetizer. The food was superb, however, and our server was excellent. We'll be back.
Food here is amazing - worth the wait and dealing with all the people. We often go during off hours, when it isn't as busy. Margarita's are expensive, but delicious and strong!
So good that Toloache has survived the pandemic and seems to be thriving. They continue to serve the best Mexican food and drinks in New York. Service is efficient and friendly, and they get you to the theater on time.
Food and service were great! Drinks were also great.
the food was delicious. Staff was very attentive!
Great food but small portions! The ambience doesn’t match the portion size, considering what is typical of Manhattan. We were seated in an outdoor area near the entrance, the table was not optimal. Service was great but portion to price ratio is simply not good.
Tables were a little close together and restaurant is on the loud side, but the food and drinks were excellent and so is the service.
From the fresh guacamole, to the incredibly delectable Carne Asada, which was an amazingly tender and juicy
grilled skirt steak that was exquisitely prepared and arrived with potato gratin, even more guacamole, and a savory mole-cheese enchilada, the Camarones Toloache which was a mouth watering mound of roasted garlic shrimp, with crispy tortillas, black beans, chayote salad, cascabel salsa, and queso fresco, to the finish of Churros with caramel and dark chocolate dipping sauces and Toloache Crunch Cake which was a decadent fudge cake topped with chocolate pop rocks, chocolate syrup, fresh fruit, and chocolate tortilla strips, Toloache served up vibrantly flavored, exciting, and elevated dishes. The waitstaff was attentive, extremely friendly, and offered suggestions and recommendations. Overall a super satisfying experience.
This was our pre-theater dining. The food was very good. The service was super efficient. Plus it was really close to our theater. Got there in plenty of time.
Fluke tacos did not taste like fluke. Very fishy tasting. We even asked the waitress prior to ordering, to assure the fish was as listed. Otherwise, food was tasty.
The huevos rancheros was so delicious. A corn tortilla layered with black beans, salsas, and eggs really hit the spot. The guacamole is made fresh in the back and the Chef’s margarita will have you feeling just right. The coffee is yummy too.
place was completely empty except for one table with 4 people. They seated us literally right next to them. really? one of the persons at that table was kind of "large", so having to squeeze in a chair behind that person was ridiculous. we moved ourselves to a corner. took over 20 minutes just to get 3 drinks. why?? food was so-so....very skimpy, not a lot of flavor and nothing to write home about. won't be going back or recommending.
Food was amazing staff are very nice although we sat down on a Saturday night it was very busy and it took a little bit longer than usual to get the waitress to order our food other than that it was amazing
Great food and service!
Amazing service! Delicious food!!
Love Toloache. Great location when you are going to Broadway theatres. Service is good. Honor reservations. Great drink choices. Olay!
We sat outside. The cubicle was bland, unattractive, and hot (heaters were on but it made the cubicle stuffy.
Had the chicken burrito. It as good but not great. Moderately priced.
The service was very friendly, helpful, polite, and nice.
Lunch was amazing! Server charming and efficient. Angus burger was enormous and delicious. Fries perfect. Wife’s penne a la vodka outstanding. Prices very reasonable. Great lunch spot.
AMAZING ENCHILADAS!!!! Well worth the cost. Loaded with lots of chicken. The sauce is the bomb!
Great food! I visit NYC every year and I will def come back every year from now on!
They did a great job and were super nice. Incredibly quick to always have our water glasses full.
Expensive ($8-9 dollars per taco) but they were good tacos.
We love this restaurant! Haven’t been here for 21/2 years. Food and margs were delicious. Service was a bit slow but it was crowded and servers did the best they could. Can’t wait to return next time we get to NYC
Service was attentive and pleasant - we really enjoyed our time at this restaurant. The lobster tacos were really good and the garlic shrimp entre' was one of the best Mexican dishes we have ever enjoyed - truly special.
Loved it! Fresh guacamole, lobster tacos and short rib tacos were amazing. The roasted Brussels sprouts and pumpkin black truffle rice sides were incredible. Will definitely be back.
Staff was amazing at getting us fed before theater. Always a great experience
Food was outstanding! But music was way to loud
Met up with a friend to celebrate reopening of theatre! Toloache is one of our favorite midtown dining experiences. It was so nice to return to Toloache’s too!
Friendly service and great food. The heated outdoor eating area was perfect!
Not very good authentic cuisine
Always look forward to returning to Toloache, definitely one of the best restaurants in the theater district. Great food and drinks, lively atmosphere, and now heated seating outdoors. Make sure to have a reservation, packed last night, still able to get us out in time for a show.
Food was good as always. Some kind of construction going on upstairs so it was noisy for part of the time. Lovely waitress but the service was a bit slow (I think they forgot about our drinks). Been here before and would go again. Just make sure you allow enough time if you have theater tickets.
Great location for pre/post theater dining. Moderately priced. Food was very good and served promptly. Would recommend.
