Tokyo Wako in Ontario offers a large selection of sushi and other Japanese cuisine. Appetizers at Tokyo Wako include truffle butter edamame, shrimp tempura, calamari ring tempura, pocky ball and deep fried squid. If you would like to start your meal with a soup or salad, try the miso soup, mixed seaweed and cucumber salad, kale salad or salmon skin salad. Sushi and sashimi selections at Tokyo Wako include yellowtail, salmon, tuna, salmon roe, albacore, halibut and more. Guests can also choose from a number of specialty rolls, as well, including the firecracker roll, dynamite roll, rising sun roll, vegetable roll and the Tokyo Wako roll.

We went for my daughters high school graduation dinner. We made a reservation and was sat right away. Our server made many mistakes in our order including not taking my dinner order and missing a few items. When our chef came to the table, he verified our orders, but mine was missing. He, however, ran to get what was missing and proceeded to put on a great show. Good was flavorful and he kept us entertained. The sever was terrible. She seemed upset to be having to work.

So I've been to Benihana but we're talking over 10 years ago. So it's safe to say this was another 1st experience. My overall review is that the food was excellent. From the mushroom soup and fresh salad with a ginger citrus dressing, the rainbow roll, to my Filet and shrimp with chicken fried rice and my wife's Seared tuna steak with sesame crust. The chef did an excellent job keeping us entertained and cooked our food wonderfully. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have sashimi available so if you know you want sushi, call ahead and find out if they have it. Also my Filet mignon cut portion was and end piece and we were some of the first people there. I feel it should be first come first serve for quality cuts. And Filet mignon isn't cheap. Other than that I also had a Tokyo Tea (cocktail) which I enjoyed (my wife didn't like it,) and she had a ginger club soda type drink. It was good as well. Our server was very friendly along with the hostess who was nice to my sons. My wife said she would go back and so would I. Side note:Better experience if you celebrate a birthday.

Always great food & friendly service. My daughter loves the "show." The staff does it's best to accommodate our family, including my child with sensory issues. My only wish is that the kids' menu had more options.

It was my sons birthday and I am sure the chef was brand new. She did not even acknowledge anyone at the table. She had no communication with us what so ever. No tricks, no nothing. I have been to this restaurant many times and had so much fun but last night I was not impressed. We hardly got any vegetables, many onions.

Our chef didn’t seem to entertain us like the other chefs on the floor. Additionally we mentioned that 2 people had birthdays on our table and they forgot all about it.
