I never leave reviews and dine out at least 4-5 times per week. We had an earlier dinner and the restaurant was quite empty almost empty therefore the service should have been quite attentive. The staff lingered around taking to themselves. We ordered sparkling water and drinks. The drinks were not very good and I barely drank my Martini. Initially our sever poured the sparkling water and never came back to repour or ask if i/we wanted another drink or to replace the drinks that we advised were not very good On to the food. The tuna in the tuna bowl was chewy and as well they put truffle oil on it that was not on the menu. We sent it back and not one person had the courtesy to ask or apologize (it was un eatable) so bizarre. The remaining items we were par/subpar. Still at no time did one of the mangers come over to enquire or apologize To top it off upon receiving our almost $200 check for 2 they did deduct the tuna but added $3 for an extra for pcs of cucumber (really?). To further the extremely disappointing experience I went to the rest room before leaving and it was quite disgusting with every garbage overflowing with trash and paper towels as well as the sink are and floors not very clean. Made me think how does the kitchen look. Overall quite a disappointing experience and will never go back. Restaurant should take a hard look at current staffing and training / sops

This restaurant never disappoints...it's always delicious. A pleasure every time we go...Amazing food, great service, lovely restaurant. It has it all. Highly recommend.

We had such a great time and that’s why we always come back. Sometimes we get a table but most of the time we seat at the bar to have a nice chat with Rownie. Food and drinks are always on point and we always order the Kobe beef skewers :)

What a massive disappointment!!! We discovered Toku last year while on vacation and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thus, we were very excited to reprise our visit. Out server was not very friendly. Ok. Hot and sour soup had way too much pepper, so I had to replace it with the chicken soup - which ended up being the only good thing we ate. My wife and I got the $29 prix fixe lunch - Soup (we had) and a main - we chose jap chae noodles like last year - and as they are vegetarian, again we added beef. We also added an a la carte roll - south beach - which was hamachi. The sushi came out fast. Like right away. Rice was stale and sloppy. Hamachi was ok but the jalapeño and crema on top were bland, so we just ate the middle (hamachi). Server actually came over before we had finished and said go ahead and get that last piece so I can take your plate…????!!! Jap chae took forever. When it arrived, it was nothing like last year. And it wasn’t good (we love this dish and have lived in Korea!). The noodles were overcooked. The dish was bland. And there is no way at all that the beef was Kobe- or if it was, it was a knockoff or cheap imitation. Oh - and an up charge of $15 per plate!!!!!!!! In summary, we had: 1 green tea $7; 2 chardonnay ($21 each); 2 prixe fix at $29 per plus the $30 up charge for “kobe”; 1 small and bland sushi roll for $22. Total before tip: $171!!! For lunch!! For 2!!! At a mall!!! On out way out, I asked the manager if the chef or owners had changed- yes. And it shows. This is a gorgeous restaurant that can do better than this. Update: we were contacted by the restaurant manager, who listened carefully to everything we had to say and explained that this certainly was an off day for them. That makes sense because it was such a different experience than the first time. They made it right and we will definitely be giving them another chance.

Disappointing Experience: Poor Service and Unaccommodating Staff From the start, the experience was frustrating. The restaurant did not answer the phone or return my call when I tried to ask a simple question. Once there, the chef refused to modify a dish I wanted due to a medical dietary restriction, and the manager was equally unhelpful. Although he repeatedly asked how he could make me happy, he seemed unwilling to actually do the one thing that would have done so. I settled for a quinoa vegetable bowl, which turned out to be a bland mix of oily quinoa and a few scattered peas. Our lunch bill came to over $100 for what was easily one of the most disappointing meals we’ve had in years. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would.

I have been going to Toku for several years & the food is consistently delicious . They have great service and especially great managers . Truly one of my favorites
