The food is great and more Japanese in a way. But the overall service might be in need of some improvement to match the restaurant. The guy who served my table had a face far from wearing a smile and was less than good at recommending dishes. But the other waitress fared much better. So I can't be completely sure about the overall quality of the service since I only encountered two of the staff. However, I can be sure that their food is worth tasting.
Not worth the price. Very expensive for unremarkable quality and preparation.

This becomes my new favourite restaurant in London. Really enjoyed the whole dining experience, would recommend sitting at the counter near the chef.
Superb dishes in taste, freshness and presentation. The wagyu beef selections are superb, don’t miss. Large saki range to pick from. Sashimi was thick, fresh and plentiful. The table also enjoyed the king crab sushi. Attentive service yet discreet throughout. Large table with easily audible (amongst us) business conversation.
High quality but very expensive. Most dishes were exquisite but some preprepared and too cold. Not crowded which was surprising for a Friday night
First, their Service is terrible. Slow because of the lack of staf, unpleasemt and uninterested in the customer. The menu is described on their website as “creative” but in reality it s just a poorer uninventive but untasty version of traditional japanese dishes (I ordered a sukiyaki that turned out to be be a precooked swampy soup of big chunks of “wagyu”.).
The portions are huge even for western standards and if not careful when ordering you could end up leaving a lot of it behind. But they dont seem to care or worry about waste. I saw the “chef” slice a £160 steaks into pieces and then put a good portion of it in the bin only to make the sandwuich “perfectly” square. I understand that certain priorities require a compromise, but i dont think it reaches as far as the cuatomer’s own money. In any case, I am sure that being able to cut a sandwich at exactly 90 degrees is not necessarily what anyone would call haute cuisine.
To add to the story, they keep semi live lobsters laying upside down on display not even in a fish tank, but on a plate full of ice with their legs kicking in the air for the entertainment of guests sitting at the counter. Yours truly.
Severely overpriced for pretty bog standard sushi & steak in and around mayfair. All that hullabaloo about Japanese wagyu is pants! Certainly nothing outstanding.
Matt is awesome! Loves his work and it shows. We had seats at the counter where we had an amazing view of the extremely talented chef at work. I prefer the counter over the tables as you feel the experience a lot more. Everything on point and a super enjoyable evening. Thank you, Tokimeite.
I REALLY wanted to like this restaurant, but I didn't. The food was very, very good. But the ambiance and service really let the place down. It just doesn't feel very Japanese, right down to the chintzy Chinese-style lattern-style light fittings above the sushi counter. Wrestling a wine menu out of the waiter proved a monumental challenge. We ordered a 2015 and they tried to give us the 2017 (which we declined). Not cool. And the specials on a mini-blackboard?: it just didn't feel right, and was very awkward while sitting at the sushi counter. Rightly-or-wrongly at this price-point and locale the clientele want the full Japanese experience. It was nowhere to be found.

It's super expensive for a meal as the portions are literally bite size. If you are ok with that the food is extremely good! Go all out for the Wagyu.

I love Tokimeite and go as often as I can. The food is excellent and so is the service and the atmosphere.

Very classy and comforting ambience, food also outstanding (comes with a corresponding price tag). Service was poor as two out of four people did not get what they ordered and attentiveness was not great. I’d come back for the food though.
Perfect Food , Freshness , Quality
A bit disappointed with the floor manager. The reason came back for the second because of the first visit to have a quick lunch, as Matthew so friendly, and he recommended the waygu beef. But shame that Matthew is on holiday, however I’d ordered the A5 wagyu and it taste great so we order second potion but not good as the first we order... as the second potion not enough time in the charcoal feel like the chef is in hurry.
We are experienced with Japanese restaurants but feel menu options unclear. In particular, requested omakase (chef's menu) but told they didn't have. Then the next guest arrives and he orders it. Odd.

Fabulous, imaginative Japanese cuisine in a modern setting. Tokimeite is conveniently located off Regent Street behind an unassuming facade. Inside it is all warm colours with an open kitchen and seating at the bar with a view of the activity if you want. Everything I ate was of the highest standard. Waygu beef that melts in the mouth, lobster split and prepared in two different ways, and sashimi that is quite exceptional. First rate.
My last review of Tokimeite reflected a disappointing experience. Based on this 3xperience the restaurant is back, close it its best. Tokimeite used to be my 1st or 2nd choice when in London on business, after March I only booked last minute when I had an extra evening, but it was well worthwhile - superb sashimi and service back to its best.
Quality of the ingredients and the taste spectrum is second to none in all of London
Authentic, precisely prepared Japanese cuisine in a cosy setting. The beautiful produce used is on display, and you can request various dishes made from these items as well as those on the written menu. The maitre d' and wait staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. We plan to return often!
Dont like it at all, food is very low quality, all fish smell badly, dishes are not interesting, everything is not fresh at all. The worst experience ever.

Authentic Japanese cooking using only best quality products imported directly from Japan. Proper sized portions allow to taste quite a number of dishes to satisfy the carvings of even the top level hedonist. Great selection of Japanese sake and spirits.
