Food was divine (be sure to order a lot — maybe around 7 small plates because the portions are small), and the service was super friendly. Ambience was very relaxed but romantic (good for dates!). Fantastic all around. The steak, potato pave, and duck are mindblowing. I could’ve had just ordered 2-3 servings each of those three things and died happy.

We booked a table for 7 people at Toei and ordered the $99 set menu, which clearly stated it included Angus beef. When the food arrived, we were told only 2 Angus portions were available and the rest would be replaced with rump steak. In the end, everyone was served rump steak — no Angus at all. When we questioned it and asked for at least the 2 Angus dishes we were initially promised, they brought out more rump steak instead. Despite the clear downgrade in quality, we were still charged the full $99 per person. It felt dishonest and like a total scam. If a restaurant can’t deliver on what’s promised, the least they can do is adjust the price or be transparent — but none of that happened. Very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Amazing food and amazing service! They were also extremely accommodating, as we were in a hurry but they noted our rush order and served up 5 dishes in quick succession over an extremely short of amount of time. Such a great experience.

We celebrated a family birthday and Toei did not disappoint. The food was tremendous. The milk buns with truffle butter were delish. For starters we had the spanner crab crumpet and Prawn fried mantou - both were amazing. Our table shared the black Angus skirt steak and the dry aged duck... both were just as delicious as the other. Hard to pick, but my favourite was the duck. Shared desserts topped it off with the raspberry sorbet being the best on the night for us. We can highly recommend and definitely will be coming back!

Fantastic food! We got the $85pp Set Menu and everything was delicious - nice pacing in terms of the pauses between dishes. The mojito and Mocktail with pineapple juice and Yakult foam were both great palate cleansers. We got there unexpectedly early and they accommodated us without any issue - we got started early and finished early. 100% recommend!

The food was great. The ambience was very noisy. It was really hard to talk. But the standard of food is very outstanding from this team here. We were disappointed that we were not able to have fish collar 😜, other than that wine selection available was really good.
