We enjoyed the seven course tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course was delectable. We especially enjoyed accommodations for my gluten free and meat free diet. The service was amazing as was the general ambiance of the restaurant. We cannot wait to come again.

Meal was disappointing. Risotto was bland and a little off; scallops lacked seasoning; foie gras a bit spongy.

The tasting menu hit all the right notes and the paired wines were amazing. Great service from the second I walked in until the very last crumb. I can't wait to come back again.

From the front door greeting with balloons and friendly hostesses to the very last bite this festive experience will stay in my memory forever. The entrance was full of balloons and smiles and we were seated with almost no wait at all. The restaurant was busy but still comfortable and the service was amazing. The food was next level delicious. I had the creamy and smooth wild mushroom risotto, the fall off the bone delicious braised lamb shank, followed by the tasty chestnut napoleon. I also had the cocktail the floating pear, which was as wonderful as it was creative. Every bite was better than the last and I cant wait to come back again to experience the perfection that is Tocqueville Restaurant. Recommend for holidays, dates and just for an amazing dining experience.

I had been to the bar many times and had a few bites which were always good. This was my first dinner experience and was phenomenal. I had the mushroom risotto as an appetizer. This was the highlight of my meal. So delicious, creamy, not heavy. For dinner I had the cod. The dish itself was delicious but its presentation was amazing. For dessert I had the chestnut Napoleon. Very light and flavorful and the perfect ending. The staff are always extremely attentive to your every need and wish. The bartender was very gracious and every dish was carefully paired by the Sommelier. Definitely a spot for a special occasion!

They can’t do a medium steak, only medium rare, apparently. The short rib had no flavor. Terribly overpriced; a disappointing NewYear’s Eve dinner. :(

My wife and I had dinner there on New Year's Eve. It was wonderful. We have been there before. It is quiet, which we like. The service was excellent. The food was also excellent. We had three courses. We both had the same appetizer: roasted butternut squash soup. My wife had the day boat cod and brandade. She liked that. I had the lightly smoked duck breast, which I liked. For a dessert, I had the bittersweet chocolate soufflé. My wife had the Greenmarket Granny Smith Apple Tart. The decor is subdued. It was full there. We were seated right away. The other diners were a mix of old, middle-aged and young, which we like.

I had the Butternut squash soup and the vegetable Pot au Feu. It was amazing and very accommodating to my vegetarian needs. The cocktails were creative and delicious. I cannot wait to come back to try other desserts. The chocolate and hazelnut bonbon was to die for.

Have not been back to Tocqueville in a while......and I am sorry it took so long. The food was excellent and the staff attentive without hovering over you. Our waiter was beyond excellent even recommending appetizers that married well with the entree. The space is elegant but inviting. If you haven't been....GO.....if you have been.....GO BACK!

I don't understand how this restaurant is not on "best of" lists with Michelin stars. The food was wonderful - inventive but not pretentious. The wine pairings were exact - they were also paired with the best sommelier with whom I have ever interacted.

My family and I had a lovely holiday dinner at Tocqueville. As soon as we walked in, it felt as though we were transported from the hustle and bustle of the city into a dining oasis. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the tranquility was much needed after a day of shopping!

We sat in a beautiful and elegant dining room with high ceilings. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for the holiday season, subtle, yet festive. As for the food, I think this could have been the best meal I have eaten in New York City in the past 10 years. The quality, portions and presentation were beyond our satisfaction. The star dish (which I could have eaten three portions of) was the duck, which was lightly smoked and the perfect temperature. My wife had the Cod Brandade, which she raved about all night and the next day. The staff was well seasoned and very gracious, you just can't find this type of service anymore. Well done, Tocqueville!

A lovely dining experience. Classic New York fine dining. The restaurant is spacious and cozy at the same time. The food was delicious and really well executed. Scallops and foie gras were delectable and unforgettable. The cocktails were seasonal and also super delicious. I will keep bringing my dates here for a great and pampered experience.

The five course tasting menu is so amazing. The trout tartare was perfection. The wagyu steak was amazing and the wine pairings were on the nose. The general manager was a delight and the service was almost omniscient. The room in which we sat was warm and cozy with high ceilings and had beautiful art on the walls. We will be coming back again soon.

We made our first visit to the restaurant on our anniversary. The food was very good. We began with a beet salad with goat cheese, which was very small but beautifully presented. We also had a delicious salmon and avocado appetizer, which was probably the stand-out dish of the evening. The tiny poached lobster entree was delicious although the vegetables on which it sat were unremarkable. The duck entree was also very good. One key disappointment: the room was rather dreary, poorly lit by mainly ceiling lights that did not light the space attractively, and walls that were rather dark and essentially un-decorated. On the way out of the restaurant, I was struck by the contrast between the stark dining room and the very beautifully decorated small bar area; it led me to wish that they had seated us at the bar. I'm being picky, but for a restaurant with these ratings, and at this price point, diners should be picky. Overall, given all of the other fine restaurants in NYC that have considered these details, I doubt that I will be back.

The lunch tasting menu with wine was wonderful. Several different amuses. Great selection of breads, served with lots of house made butter. My only complaint is that at least two of the courses were not served hot. I was also surprised not to see any chocolates or petit fours at the end of the meal.
