Location is perfect, the staff is on point. The food was amazing it’s a dining experience for sure. No matter what we order it was a beautiful presentation and tasted amazing. Definitely on the contact list.
the most stunning outdoor setup that i've seen yet
Our food was really excellent as was the service. The location is good and the ambience was very good. The weather was fine though I realize you did n't control that. We will definitely recommend you to our friends. We hope that you will continue your outdoor dining after the corona virus emergency has ended. We have noticed that they do this in europe through the winter months.
Wonderful food, beautiful setting inside and out.
The outdoor dining setting was beautiful but could use heat lamps. The dinner was excellent but could have been more varied to accommodate diners who preferred the standard Tocqueville menu.
Still remains one of the best restaurants in NYC for an outstanding meal in a great setting!
Food was great. Had the 6 course tasting so we got to try the sushi and French portions. Service was slow. 25 minute gap in the middle of courses was not great. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.
Birthday celebration
The place is fantastic ... a Covid adjusted combined menu of East 15 and Tcqueville, while seafood / sushi heavy allow for sufficient breadth for all palates. The food is as good as it has been for the last 20 years since opening and on top of that they created a tasteful outdoor area which makes you forget that you are eating in the street. Staff is super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable so there is really nothing left to desire.
My mother and I really safe and relaxed to outdoor dine here. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive, everyone was very kind and warm. Recommend!
Friend’s farewell dinner.
The best dinner I had since covid-19 start. Food and Decor - AMAZING !!!
Great food, service and lovely atmosphere. I ate there 2 days ago and going back tomorrow for dinner.
It is truly wonderful that they have combined two world class restaurants and are serving a menu curated from the best of both.
The food was served perfectly, the staff despite masks showed hospitaity and warmth with their eyes. We felt so well cared for a safe as we dined.
I wish them continued success and look forward to returning.
It was so nice to dine inside in NYC at a perennially great restaurant. The food was excellent, though different, given the combining of the this restaurant and their nearby 15 East. There are a lot more Japanese options on the menu and Japanese interpreted dishes.
For example, the foie gras was in in a delicious broth. It was very different, but absolutely wonderful. The Sea Trout was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had in NYC, Le Bernardin included.
The deserts were good, but normal for good NYC restaurants. The only possible very minor issue I might mention is that it took quite a while for the staff to get focused on our table and begin to take our first orders.
Since the start of the pandemic we have dined out so rarely that each time has been a special occasion. We were very happy with our choice of restaurant. Everything was delicious, we loved being able to follow omakase of sashimi and sushi with a little something French. They have done a great job with the outdoor seating.
The outdoor setup for Covid is gorgeous and the food was reliably very good. In fact, I think this is one of the best - wonderful ambience, table spacing is generous, the menu has a nice assortment from their two restaurants.
I'm so happy Tocqueville is open again! The outdoors looks fenomenal --the best I've seen in NYC as open spaces go. The food is as good as always, with the addition of items from 15 East. Great combo!
It was great to see them opened again and the combined menus of 15 East and Tocqueville was excellent. Look forward to more visits.
This is a perfect place for a nice meal with friends; the food is great, the ambiance is lovely and it is nice an quiet, so you can actually hear.
Had a lovely dinner with out of town friends. Restaurant has a warm ambiance and is quiet so you can actually talk to people. Had wonderful foie gras and lobster and duck. Small nit is that they have no gluten free bread available. Restaurant is expensive but food is great and service was perfect. Attentive but not rushed.
Tocqueville has been a consistent favorite of mine over the last five years. The main dining room is lovely, and the calm atmosphere makes it a great place to go with friends or business associates. The food is delicious and beautifully presented beginning with an amuse bouche and ending with a lovely little plate of sweets. (My all time favorite menu item is the California Sea Urchin and Angel Hair Carbonara). The staff there pleasant and attentive but not overbearing, starting with the "manager/wine steward", Fatima, down to the young man serving the delicious bread options.
For a more "casual" dinner, I have regularly eaten dinner in the bar area and that is delightful as well. Luckily this restaurant has become a neighborhood restaurant for me and my family and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Service was wonderful and some of the food was outstanding but some was just ok and for the price all the food should have been a taste sensation!
Celebrating Valentines day on February 15th, my best move ever! We had a chance to order their famous chef's tasting menu with unique wine pairings. The service was superb, drinks the best I had in a while. New Fashion is the must to try!
Great place for special occasion, or quick dinner at the bar ( YES, they serve special menu at the bar plus a la carte) !
One of the best dining experiences we've ever had. First, the service was impeccable. We had the 6 course tasting menu, and one of us had the wine pairing. Every dish was creatively prepared and each dish tasted terrific. There wasn't one dish that we didn't rave about. We will certainly be back.
Great Valentines dinner!
We asked for table upstairs in their lovely mezzanine skybox as it was more intimate and Romantic- perfect for the occasion! Gnocchi with black truffles were To die for and filet mignon, best I ever had. My wife who loves to learn about wine couldn’t stop talking to lady som. I guess we kept her too long at our table;) (sorry not sorry!) . Service was great, bravo to Adrian and Dolores, they made our night very special!
One of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’m not a fan of eating out on Valentine’s Day, in fact I was dreading it. My girlfriend insisted on doing something special this year, and my dad highly recommended Tocqueville and insisted it would be perfect for the occasion. And well...He was spot on! Our table was ready upon arrival (which I have never experienced dining out on Valentine’s Day). I wasn’t thrilled about having a prix fixe menu, but every dish we ordered was outstanding and beautifully presented. Staff not only accommodated all of my girlfriends crazy allergies, but they did it graciously - which was truly appreciated on such a busy night. The tables were a little close together, but to be expected on the busiest eating out Hallmark holiday. I would highly recommend for a special occasion and will definitely be back
Adult dining with outstanding food Nd service
This was the worst meal I have had in NYC in 2 years. They were so underwhelming for Valentine’s Day it wasn’t funny. People always say, “don’t go out for Valentines” day but we thought that with a restaurant of this reputation it wouldn’t be an issue. We were crammed in like sardines, spoken down to by a jerk “somm” serving junk wine in Home Goods glasses. Thanks for finishing the meal with stale macaroons - great touch. Should have gone to Le CouCou or somewhere similar that is reliable for such a special occasion. I’d say beware, but this place will be closed by next Valentine’s Day.
He staff are wonderful
Bruno, Miguel are tops - attentive and accommodating always
I wanted to take my mom to a special dinner on her short visit to NYC. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like family. Everyone from our waiter, who had an incredible knowledge of the menu, to the manager, made sure everything was perfectly to our liking. What set our experience over the top was the sommelier, Bruno. He took the time to explain each wine we were drinking and how it related to the dish. We started with a glass of champagne while we decided on our courses. We wanted to try different wine with each course and having this mini master class was truly special. It made the whole night so unique and a true experience. We had the beet salad, the squash soup (my favorite), the butter poached lobster and the sea trout. Every dish was amazing and beautifully presented. This is a must try and a hidden gem.
Superb food and service in an elegant and subdued environment. A great "serious" date place.
Love the whole experience !!
A nice dinner venue for quiet, relaxing, romantic environment.
Great waitstaff made the experience wonderful. The food was very very good. Thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Tocqueville.
Fantastic! Wonderful gastronomic experience.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tocqueville did a renovation over the summer. Don't worry. It is spruced up but not changed. The atmosphere is quiet and luxurious. The food is outstanding. The service is attentive. Be warned. It is expensive...but worth the price.
The tasting menu affords the chance to ssmple the breadth of dishes served, all creative and tasty. Exquisitely designed space and fantastic service, plus a good cocktail menu. Expensive and elegant fine dining, perfect for a special occasion or for when you want to treat yourself.
One if the very best restaurants in NYC! Recently underwent a subtle renovation that makes it seems a little younger and hipper. Lighting is great! Love this place! Best dark chocolate soufflé in the city!
This is a gem! So glad I finally tried it. The food was wonderful and the service was amazing. Could not have had a better experience.
