The food was great and the ambiance was fun and light. Loved the music selection and the guitarist walking around adding to the music and the energy. The dancer was a nice added touch to the visual aesthetic to the night
Best place for Taco Tuesday, Toca never lets me down. Great food, great vibes, and the drinks are amazing!
Service was great. Be sure to make a reservation. The music was a little too loud but after 830 it gets even louder. Because they have a DJ. The food was fantastic.
Didnt even complete reservation. Dont know why it appears complete. Dining space is horrible. Didnt like the seats that were provided when we got there. Spoke to hostess about it but it seems as if she didnt take my concern seriously, and proceeded to provide me with a seat that was even worst than the first one. Wont be back there again
We had a great time on our birthday celebration thank you guys
I didn’t get the high top as asked but still in quieter part of the restaurant. Waiter was really nice to offer first round on the house but later on they were mixing all the orders drinks and food (bringing us others people orders) also waiting time for the drinks was soooo long.
Chic, fun, beautiful people and scene, delicious food, wonderful service
Best restaurant experience in my life! Everything was top tier from when we walked in to getting the check. We celebrated my boyfriends bday & it was such an amazing time, especially seeing the beautiful garden room while we enjoyed our night ☺️ Food was so good & drinks were crafty 🤩 Loved the agua fresca because it had the twist of pineapple with canela. Not once did our table get too crowded because it was cleaned almost instantly each time we finished a dish. To put the cherry on top, the tres leches cake was one of THE best tres leches i’ve ever had, considering that is my favorite type of cake anywhere 😋 All in all, 10/10 experience!
The ambiance was very cool and food was delicious. There was a bit of a kick to everything and the drinks were all enjoyable. While our server was generous, it was a very busy night and she notably seemed to lose track of us from time to time.
Never returning again. We went on a Sunday night for dinner. Made reservations weeks In advance. The restaurant texted and called us multiple times to confirm. We get there and have to stand in a tiny space by the crowded bar for 45 min until we are seated. We asked to just sit outside because of the noise (was nightclub volume) 35 min go by and the waiter comes. We ordered right away and then 25 min later he brought out our cokes. My glass has white residue INSIDE the glass. Took another 30 min for him to come out and I asked someone else to change it. I asked eventually to just cancel our order and give us our card so we can just leave. We were starving and tired. 2 min later they bring out our food. It was mediocre food at best. NOT WORTH THE HYPE.
Food was excellent and such a fun atmosphere
Okay food and terrible service. Go to Javier's or any other elevated Mexican fusion place. Had a reservation and still had to wait for our table. Also our server did not serve us the items we had to ask multiple times for.
Drinks are 90% ice
Food was great
Everything was delicious and ambiance is something you have to experience for yourself!
It was good. Staff was not on point though. Toilets outside in a makeshift trailer. Music a little too loud in the restaurant side. It was so packed that people were all over our table. Challenging to have a chill conversation but I knew the place has a live DJ and can be packed, just hoped the back dinner space would be more airy, especially in a pandemic! But ok.
Food and drinks were delicious as always, made my birthday fun. Only thing I could say was music was a little too loud, like way louder than it normally is. I don’t know if it was because we were upstairs but it made my ears literally start ringing, our server could barely hear what we were saying. I would say lower the music just a tad bit down and it’d be perfect
It was busy because it was Taco Tuesday. The decor and ambiance was extravagant. The lights were dim. Staff was friendly. Make reservations in advance if not you can sit at the bar. Food was delicious and had small portions. The margaritas were tasty.
Server didn’t want to be there. Food was bland and overpriced. Table was described to us incorrectly when making the reservation. Never refilled my water or asked how we were doing. Asked for the same drink 3 times. Door guy thinks he’s a gangster. I would go just about anywhere else.
Great food, music very loud, but great vibe in restaurant, bar. Excellent margaritas! Dancer on bar with flames and wandering guitar player an awesome treat! We’d go back again, great experience.
They have definitely improved their service from the last times I’ve dined here. Super satisfied.
They intentionally let u wait even u book ur table at the time u meant to be seated…
Very good service, delicious food and great drinks
Love this place and it’s always my fav place to go to when in town
Omakase was marketed as approximately 100 per customer but it’s not a set menu Andy can be much more expensive if the server decides to add items. This wasn’t explained Andy our waiter made an expected $300 charge approximately $500. Not good form so keep an eye out. I don’t think I’ll return.
Love this place!!!!
The place is really nice the service was good the drinks were great and the food tasted so good
Amazing meal. The ceviche was awesome. The tomahawk steak was delicious. The desserts were to die for
Loved it! The tacos were just a treat.:)
Amazing food and experience!
Traveling from DC to Beverly Hills to be with family for the Holidays 2021, we chose Toca Madera for Christmas Eve. After being asked to confirm our 6:45 PM reservation several times, we showed up only to find the doors locked and the lights shut off. We called the publish number and left a message. No response from management.
We weren’t alone. Several other families and groups were experiencing the same thing as we all grabbed our cell phones frantically trying to make new last minute reservations.
Today is 12/27 and I’ve still not received a call or apology from Toca Madera.
RUDE and obviously unprofessional. Wondering if there were health Code violations involved 😏
I made reservations on OpenTable for 6 people and invited our out of town guests for dinner at Toca Madera. I received an email from OpenTable the day before, asking me to confirm my reservation; and I did confirm. I arrived on the reservation night with my guests only to find out from the nearby parking garage officer that the restaurant is closed. I felt so ashamed in front of our guests; as this was their very first visit to LA and they were only in town for 1 night. I immediately called the restaurant, and the operator basically said I should've received a call and asked me to check my voice mail. When I told him I did not receive a voice mail nor an email about this, he basically said he can't help me beyond that, as if it's my problem. This was such a bad experience for me in front of my guests. I would NEVER go back to a restaurant with such bad management, attitude, and staff. They basically didn't take the time to notify me about their closure, and I had to show up there on a rainy LA night with 4 guests to be humiliated in front of closed doors. Absolutely unacceptable. They also mentioned on YELP that they would reach out to us to clarify later but they never did.
They took my reservation even though they were closed!! I showed up for my sister’s birthday dinner and the place was just closed with no explanation. They didn’t call or email or anything, we were so disappointed and had to scramble to retrieve our car from valet and form a new plan. Call and make sure they’re open!!
Made this reservation for a birthday dinner and the restaurant was CLOSED!!! couldn’t even find another last minute place to go to because you needed a reservation everywhere else!!
Service was horrendous. Waiter was basically irritated to be serving us. Flat out lied about the lack of service/being told by a bartender we need service etc and then refused to get the manager when we got too fed up. Took 40 mins for our entree to come out and impossible to get his attention. We had tickets to an event and we’re late/nearly we’re unable to attend. Manager did remedy it after we went up to him ourselves but I would never go back again due to the service.
Went for my birthday on a Sunday for brunch. Took a few minutes past our reservation to get seated at a table but the bartenders got us started with some great drinks. Service was a little slow but they were short staffed, as are so many restaurants in LA right now, so we just went with the flow. Our server was awesome, he brought a round of birthday shots on fire! Food was excellent as always, lots of vegan options. Loved the music! Will definitely be back!
Got there at 7:15pm sat at the bar had a delicious cocktail created by one of the great bartenders. Then came time for our reservation, the hostess accommodated our early arrival our reservation was for 8pm, and we were offered a really nice private table for two but my companion wanted to sit somewhere a little more lively, but I think he was hoping for the first floor dining room area something a little more similar to our seats upstairs and and not the bar top area. We waited for thirty minutes until I had to ask a bar back for some menus and if our waitress was going to check on us. Finally when she showed up we were able to order. Our waitress with the red hair could have been more attentive. The meal and ambiance and bar staff were amazing. The seats sadly not so great…I would still come back I love toca madera and the drinks but hoping for better seats next time!
