Service was slow and a few mistakes were made. 2 of the meals were undercooked. They have been better in the past.
Visited with out-of-town friends. First time for all of us. I had tomato soup --very good. Friends had French onion soup(she loved it) and tomato soup + grilled cheese--very good. Very cute inside!
We were seated in a room around the corner from the entrance, so it was nice and fairly quiet. The room at the main entrance was quite lively and would have been harder to have a conversation. The food was great - we chose delicious customized omelets!
Food was great but took longer than usual to get; others seated after us had their food before we did.
Fantastic and unique menu. Great service both times we have eaten there!
Just a great place to eat the food is great the service is excellent the staff is patient
Everything was great! However the coffee was too strong for me.
Food was not hot or as expected.
We travelled in from England and went for brunch. The chicken and waffle was amazing.
Outstanding experience in every way. The service was exceptional, the drinks and food delicious, and the happy hour offering and prices very attractive.
We paid $73 for 2 not so good salads, 2 cups of soup, and 2 drinks. I had tomato soup that tasted like chili broth, my husband's onion soup was okay at best but both our salads for horrible. Complete rip off. I've been here before a few times, it used to be very good and has gone downhill to this. I won't go back again.
Although Toast is know for breakfast and brunch, it is a dinner gem hidden in plain sight. The list of entrees includes something for everyone. The Thai calamari appetizer is delicious - the best we have had. The meatloaf is perfect comfort food and a large portion, too. Our server, Marcus, was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We'll be back!
Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. Prompt service.
Decided to try toast for dinner. Had never been but had heard it was good. Made reservation but it wasn’t needed even though it was a Saturday night. We ordered appetizers and drinks. The tempura cauliflower was good. The bigger pieces of cauliflower were not as tender as the smaller pieces. The hoison dipping sauce was good. I had the lemon cocktail which was great except it said it was made with a Meyer lemon and they garnished it with a regular one which was sad. The short rib entree was ok. Much tougher than I’ve had at places like 220 where you don’t even need a knife. The mushroom gnocchi was ok. Lacked some flavor. Maybe this place is better for breakfast and lunch.
Excellent for breakfast or brunch. Lunch menu is limited (we ended-up getting breakfast for our lunch). Dinner is good too. By far my favorite at Toast is breakfast.
Excellent outdoor dining in summer and terrific service.
Great food and service.
Donovan was very friendly - everything was to my 100% happiness. Thank you team @ Toast, Birmingham
The food is fantastic, a bit pricey but worth it! Our server was great. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu!
Pleasant service. I had the wild mushroom gravy and biscuits. It was ok - lots of extra sodium in the gravy that what I recall and the biscuits underneath were very dry and crunchy.
The problem at Toast continues to be poor service. The food once it arrives is pretty good.
I think they do not have enough servers and that is the core issue. I doubt we will go back for dinner.....just breakfast.
We liked. Great
We walked in and even tho there were people in line we got a table and were seated right away because of Open Table. The place was fairly busy for a Friday afternoon but service and food were both on point. Will be back again!
Marco was so friendly and knowledgeable! Loved the mid week special on vino... 1/2 price is nice.
Nice spot, waiter was cool and honest with the menu. We'll go back.
I made a request that they do something special for my husbands birthday and it wasn't even acknowledged. Went here because it came highly recommended by friends and it ended up being the only disappointment of our trip.
Skip dinners, their specialty remains brunch.
Amazing, as always! Everything at Toast is good, I have never had a bad meal there.
Creative menu. All was good. Christina ave great service. Gave us lots of time to appreciate the menu. Multiple coffee refills.
We had not been to Toast for probably a year. It was where my wife and I had our 4th date 6+ years ago
It was great. The food was gourmet quality and the presentation was great as was the service. Such an eclectic place by design but the food spoke in volumes about our night. Thanks for a great evening
2nd time dining at this location for dinner. First experience was great. We sat in the dining area to the right of the host stand as you walk in. Window table and fireplace, very cozy. Very pleased with service and food (monkfish tacos, JL Hudson salad). On the second outing, we sat in the dining area North of the host stand. Same server as the first experience. We ordered the crispy calamari app which was good, spicy, and flavorful. I was not able to detect or taste the calamari inside the breading/coating. I like the taste and texture of calamari, so I probably wouldn’t order it again, but we ate it all. The sauce was yummy. The only problem on this visit was that our entrees took forever to arrive. Don’t know if the server didn’t fire the second course early enough, or if it was a kitchen snafu. I only know that in the time between finishing our app and the arrival of our entree, the couple at the table next to us ordered, received, and finished their entrees. That is my only complaint about my experience. The food was very good, and I believe our experience with the late entrees was atypical. I will go back again.
Very good brunch! The servers were very attentive and the owners stopped by to check on us. Definitely will be back.
A little overpriced and noisy but good mimosas
Excellent place for breakfast with a friend or business colleague. Cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Great menu and service
I think they try really hard to do some innovative things and for example their salads are very different and good. My kids love the waffles.
Very good food and atmosphere, just wish the tables weren’t so close together
Love all the different breads, had the apple walnut today which was awesome. Usually love the main dish but I thought the Spicy Cali omelette was only so-so
I enjoyed the ambiance. Reminded me of little places in NYC. Very clean as well. I would definitely go again.
With my 95 yr old mom. Always great about lowering music
