Great food, nice location
The food was extremely disappointing. The pub steak was well done rather than medium rare and greasy. The shrimp scampi was over heavily spiced to the point of obliterating the flavor of the shrimp and the Texas toast was soggy from sauce poured on it rather than on the shrimp. We had not been at this restaurant for several years and were shocked at how once great food had so badly deteriorated. The server was attentive and friendly. The noise level was very high.
We love trivia night!!! The atmosphere is fun and the food is great. We will keep coming back.
Good food but it was beyond slow service! We got there right as the dinner rush was starting to build but it wasn't that busy. We waited forever for dinner! I kind of get it if they were behind, but the server rarely came by or didn't give us updates until just before our food came. It would have been nice if he showed some empathy and apologized for the wait. Additionally, been more on top of refilling beverages. Also, my daughter accidentally dropped her glass on the floor and it spilled. We couldn't get anyone over to let them know. And when they did realize, they just left it like that.
This place keeps getting better and better each time I go. We celebrated my mom’s birthday and my wife and I took my parents and brother here to celebrate. Everyone was thrilled with how the good and service was. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Great atmosphere and great drinks!
Great food and service
Food was excellent. There was a large party behind us with a couple very loud members in it. We saw many people looking at them very annoyed. Once they left it was a much nicer atmosphere. Our server was excellent except we did have to ask for water refills, but we did note she was also serving the large group.
We did miss the popovers that were served in this restaurant before the new management, but the food was excellent.
Never in more than 30 years of entertaining for business and for pleasure have I received such poor attention. I can't call it poor service. If I did that would imply our server actually came back to our table to give us service. I had to go to the bar myself to get my refilled and to get To-Go boxes.
I've made 13 reservations on Open Table for T. Morris in the last 12 weeks. Additionally, I've been there many times without a reservation. Pretty sure the next 12 weeks will not include T. Morris in my dining plans.
Overall T. Morris is not an inexpensive restaurant. If I'm spending that kind of money I'll go to a restaurant who prides itself on service and pleasurable dining experience. This was not that experience.
The bacon wrapped shrimp and the guacamole and chip appetizers were great. As well as the pepperoni pizza, beef sliders and spaghetti and meatballs. The crab cakes were ok, I felt they were a little under cooked. The service was very fast, we had a great table overlooking the 18th green. The restaurant was full and very noisy, hard to have a conversation, but a lively atmosphere.
My only complaint was I asked for a booth online in my reservation. When we got there, one was available but not given to us!
We chose T. Morris Pub & Grill because of location on golf course and we had guests from our of town visiting. Hostess was able to seat us near the window overlooking the golf course as requested. The food was not the greatest. We ordered the FishnChips. The fish was overbattered and the fish was wet and had no flavor. My piece of fish was all twisted and was mostly fried beer batter. I ended up taking the beer batter off only to find hardly any fish inside. I have eaten other dishes off the menu and they have always been good. Maybe you need to rethink the FishnChips !!!
Great food. A little noisy. Great service!
Great Food, actually was excellent. Service was fast and server was very friendly. My only issue was it was very loud so the 6 of us found it hard to have a conversation at our table.
Food was great, would be nice if the tables were a little farther away from each other.
The brunch served family style is great, the bread pudding is particularly good.
Party of four. Two ordered soup or salad. Only one got their salad before the meal and the meal arrived within 2 minutes of the salad coming out.... so quickly we couldn't even ask the server where the soup was. When we made the reservation we were asked if we wanted high top or low top seating. We selected low top, but upon arrival at the restaurant were seated at a high top. When we asked to switch to a low top we were informed that that the low top tables were only in the fireplace room and they weren't seating people back there any longer (8:00PM).
Very loud in back room. Large table of families with young children. Not very pleasant.
Ribeye sandwich was a little too tough for a sandwich. Good flavor though!
went for a Friday fish fry. VERY disappointed in the fish. Batter reminded me of donuts, only very soggy and underdone. Barely any fish under all the mess. Seemed understaffed for wait staff so not very prompt with taking the order. Food took a while so can only assume the kitchen was understaffed also.
Staff if always friendly and accommodating- great place to drop in any time!
Three of the four meals we ordered were not very good. How can you mess up a plain cheeseburger? The chicken sandwich I had was not crispy as advertised and fell apart quickly as the condiments were too much.
There were five of us tonight. It was very noisy in the main room, so we asked to be reseated in the small room. The Sand Wedge salad was very good. My wife had the steak sandwich - it was tasty, but had a lot of gristle. Two of us had the Fish and Chips. The fish was done, but the coating was anemic looking - probably not deep-fried hot enough. The chips were fine. One of us had the Shrimp Scampi, which she always likes and has had that dish the past three times we've visited. Service was somewhat disorganized, partly because of the high noise level. I will provide a limited recommendation to anyone who asks.
Delighted that i decided to give T Morris a try, by far the best restaurant in the area. Food and service was great and the wine list was amazing. Looking forward to another visit
I made a reservation on open table for lunch. I accidentally made it on the wrong day so I did not show on 2/28, we called Friday morning and they were more than accommodating to let us come in that day.
My recommendation: Do not go here for lunch. There are 100 other places in Woodbury to eat. Our food was terrible and our service was worse. My wife and I live nearby and enjoy coming in for dinner, the food is great and the drinks are better. We always try to come when Larry is bartending, there is no one better in Woodbury. This is why we decided to try lunch here with our friends in from out of town. I’m not sure if they have different staff for lunch vs dinner but the food was awful during the day, my burger was so over cooked it tasted like a hockey puck and didn’t come with the correct toppings. My wife had a salad that she said was okay but she never got her chicken that she ordered. Our water and drinks were never refilled or offered. Just bad food overall.
It was kind of busy so we tried to cut some slack to our server but unfortunately it was just downright awful service. She would never stop at our table, she spoke to us as she was walking around, as if it was an inconvenience to have to stop. When we were finished eating we waited about 15 minutes for our bill with dirty plates in front of us. She finally brought our bill and we got a wonderful whiff of cigarette smoke but no plates were picked up. We had to sit and chat with our friends over dirty plates with remnants of food we didn’t even like. We never saw anyone helping and no manager in sight to assist with the disaster of a lunch we experienced.
We love this restaurant but apparently only at dinner. Sorry, T.Morris but you get an F for lunch. I hope this improves over the summer because we love your patio.
We tried this restaurant because it was part of Minneapolis-St.Paul Magazine's Restaurant Week, and because it was close to our friend's house. It was a nice venue, and the food was delicious! It took a while to get it, and they were out of several items, not sure if they were anticipating as many people as they had because of Restaurant Week, but the food we did get was good. I would go back again!
Food was pretty good - there for first time restaurant week lunch. Service was terribly slow. It took over 45 minutes to get a burger! The whole meal ended up taking almost 2 hours - and there were maybe 6 tables full. Chocolate torte was delicious, but others in my party that got the ice cream said it was nothing special. Don't go for a quick business lunch.
First time here and I will be back for sure! Kinzey our server was fabulous and helped us with food and beverage suggestions. Nice level was low so I could have a good time with old friends.
Food portions were great size too!
We had a gorgeous view from our table, but that was the single highlight of the evening. We picked this restaurant for Sunday of restaurant week and it was hugely disappointing. The food was mediocre tasting and I found someone else’s hair in it - never told the waitress though because while she walked by, she didn’t stop to check in and she didn’t make eye contact so we could flag her down. I was still eating my appetizer when the entree was delivered, and it wasn’t the right dish. While waiting the right order, the busboy took the silverware so my mom couldn’t eat her entree of fettuccine with over cooked steak. The waitress never stopped by to apologize or check in. The correct entree was delivered finally by the hostess and the dessert by the busboy - I had all three courses on the table at once. For dessert, I ordered a chocolate torte with raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. I got a chocolate torte with chocolate sauce and partially melted cinnamon ice cream. The check was dropped off while we were still working on entrees and the waitress took so long to come back to process the credit card we paid with cash and left. The service was horrible, the waitress had no idea how to communicate effectively, and it felt entirely too rushed. There is absolutely no reason to ever go back to or recommend T.Morris Pub & Grill.
Had a great experience here. The food was fantastic, the place itself is very nice. Went there with my two kids (ages 1 and 2) and they were very accommodating - it was surprisingly kid friendly. The kids menu items were pricey at $8 but included adult portions and were genuinely delicious (I steal food from my kids, don’t judge!). For restaurant week we adults got to try a whole bunch of items - the ahi tuna I had was amazing (the whole dish was a great mix of colors, flavors, and textures) as was the crab cake and bacon wrapped shrimp. The portions are enormous and we took so much food home.
Valentine's night. Dinner was excellent. The Ahi Tuna was perfect. My wife had the dry rub ribs - which she loved. The side dish comprised of sauteed green beans, onions, and brussel sprout leaves was excellent. I highly recommend it. (How often does someone recommend a side dish? - it was THAT good). Great waitress - Becky - very personable and attentive, yet professional.
Only minor down side - Christmas decorations all around the lobby and restaurant. Not much Valentine decor.
This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Woodbury. Great, upscale food and terrific service.
First it was weird to walk-in on Valentine’s Day and they still had all their Christmas decor up??? They had one server doing tables and bar, took for ever to get service and not really busy!! Burger was salty but the beer soup was great !
Not what I was expecting for this place.
Overall, a decent experience. Waitress sat us in the quieter part of the dining area which was great—by the time we left, the bar area had become quite loud. Food came out relatively quick and server was attentive. We had scotch eggs, then the steak and the squash ravioli. Potatoes that came with the steak were not great but the steak was large and tender. Ravioli was hot and had good flavor. Scotch eggs weren’t our favorite and came with a mound of fried onions which were a bit awkward to eat without making a mess. When the bill came, I felt that it was a little high for what we had received but, overall, we enjoyed our meal. When I made the reservation, I indicated we were celebrating my wife’s birthday but there was no mention of it from the hostess or server which was disappointing.
Seated in fireplace room off main bar; attentive, friendly staff. Was a great selection for our business dinner, though it did get pretty loud when the trivia started. Consider closing doors during this time to keel fireplace room more quiet?
This place is very loud I’m expecting to have nice dinner for my husband bday and we heard adults laughing very loud and kids screaming. We’ve been here before sat at nice dining room but obviously changed a lot. Food was okay, I ordered steak but all very greasy potatoes, mushrooms included.
We had visitors from out of town so I wanted to take them somewhere they hadn't been before, and this is convenient because they accept reservations. Our table was set prior to us arriving so there was no wait at all. Our server, Cam, was very pleasant and attentive and the food was all very good. My only complaint would be the noise level. Our reservation was at 5:30 on a Saturday so it was busy, but the acoustics were such that we really needed to raise our voices to be heard across the table, and we were only a party of 5.
Great for groups with a variety of price points and food options. Something for everyone and everyone was Happy with there selection.
We've visited T. Morris twice in the past two weeks, and a number of more times recently. Last time, the chef customized my wife's meal by nicely grilling the chicken breasts and substituting asparagus for other veggies. She appreciated the effort and liked the meal a lot. I had the Prestwick Wedge salad. It was excellent. The burger was excellent, too. Today the Wedge was so-so (small iceberg wedge), but the desserts were a disaster. The warm chocolate chip cookie our dining partner had was only luke warm, at best. The house specialty bread pudding I ordered was badly burnt in a one-inch strip all along the raised edge, but the burnt part was partially covered by powdered sugar. I complained to the staff that this was by-far the worst food item I had ever eaten at T. Morris, and sent it back. The customer at the next table had the same complaint. The manager didn't serve me a replacement bread pudding, because she said it had looked bad, too. They first comped me with a chocolate chip cookie, but that one was room temperature, even away from the ice cream topping. She apologized profusely, and didn't charge me for the bread pudding or the cookie. This was a sad ending to a otherwise-pleasant evening. with friends. I am sorry to have to report this, as we generally like T. Morris food, and it is generally a good experience, despite the typical high noise level. I hope they straighten out their dessert problem, so it doesn't spill over any further into the remaining menu items.
We went to T. Morris to celebrate New Year’s Eve and we enjoyed our experience very much. The only problem is the noise level in the restaurant; it was very difficult to hear the couple we had brought with us because of all the noise. Other than that, an excellent experience. We definitely will return!
