TJ's Seafood Market and Grill- Oak Lawn
Lunch while on vacation in Dallas. Food was delicious, ordered the lobster roll and a creole pasta and both dishes were very tasty. Lobster roll had lots of lobster meat which made it a reasonable price for it. My husband was wishing later on at dinner that he had the pasta dish again.
Food is always fantastic. Do not ever eat the brussel sprouts from the dish. scoop to your plate, let cool then eat.
T.J.'s Oak Lawn is an outstanding restaurant with great food and a really nice, relaxed pleasant atmosphere. A great choice for all!!
Soggy calimari, over cooked shrimp at this formerly good restaurant. Really sad to need to scratch this one off my list.
Delicious fish and chips. Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail! The gumbo isn’t quite Gulf Coast dark enough (roux-y) for my taste however.
Ordered the Sea Bass way overpriced for the money.
made a reservation with a Birthday celebration, no mention for the special occasion at the table.
Disappointing considering it was a Tuesday night and they were not busy.
One of my very favorite restaurants in Dallas! Great salmon, salads and wine. So many fantastic options. Wonderful atmosphere, and very friendly service.
Food was great
Great experience om mothers day
TJ’s food is always delicious. Ordered Mahi Mahi with steamed vegetables and coconut rice. Perfectly prepared. Not only is TJ’s my number one choice to pick up seafood (shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon, crab dip) for entertaining on the fly, but a great choice to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends or family. Always consistent...always friendly...always a treat.
The menu online is different than in the restaurant. The brunch menu is lacking brunch items. If you want a traditional brunch, this should not be an option The crab cakes were not the best. Others in my party enjoyed the fries and salmon burger. I probably will not return
Small space, but a great atmosphere. Valet parking.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. It's a very small restaurant with a fish market inside. We enjoyed our meal there and would come back.
T.J.'s rocks!! The food is truly outstanding and very healthy. Very cozy with very nice service. Keep up the good work!!
The Oak Lawn location is very casual, low key, jeans and flip-flops kind of place. The service was excellent, however the food was mediocre. Ordered the Shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, that was pretty good. That is the only thing that was good. I ordered the crab cake (1) with soup as the side (upcharge of $3), my daughter had the salmon burger with soup as the side (upcharge of $3). The food was bland, not flavorful at all. I was very disappointed in the taste of the food. I ended up paying $72.00 dollars (no drinks, only water). It is our normal routine to do brunch EVERY Sunday, (Hillstone is one of our favorites) so the price isn't the issue. We both left unsatisfied with our meals and ended up leaving and dining somewhere else. We did not complain or return our meals, we took a chance and tried somewhere new to dine, so I felt it was on us.
Wonderful food and service! TJ's never disappoints us. One of our favorites!
Neighborhood feel, great food, intimate
The Fish tacos were perfect- just enough spice! My husband had grilled red snapper and it was cooked to perfection- he wished he had a larger portion!
Small place but great food and service
The service was great, Renea (?) was as pleasant and helpful as they come, describing the specials of the day and offering wine choices. The dining room is very casual, very sterile. The food was very bland. The fish seemed very fresh and was blackened with a creole sauce. If I hadn't ordered it blackened, you would have never been able to guess it was and the creole sauce literally tasted like a can of Demonte Zesty Tomatoes poured on top. Vegetables were steamed and bland. Started with Fish Stew, that was the star of the dinner, while my wife had gumbo with very little seafood (0 shrimp) but a good flavor. I wanted to like the place, I really did, just wasn't impressed with the especially with the price paid.
Wow! Being a New England native we were pleasantly surprised at the quality, freshness and unique twists on some seafood staples. Each dish was exceptional, the truffle fries, the shrimp and grits, the PEI and Mass oysters, the grilled Mahi Mahi, and the coconut rice were out of this world. Service was excellent, small quaint atmosphere and just a wonderful overall experience. We will be back!
Fresh seafood and excellent service- doesn’t get any better than this.
A wonderful Valentine's dinner.
We had a great experience- service was stellar and the food was excellent. Oysters for an appetizer, then red fish and sea bass, while ending with creme brûlée. While the wine list is not big, what they have on hand will please you.
We enjoyed our visit to TJ’s. The Korean wings were good but a bit over salted, we still enjoyed them. The Caesar salad was very flavorful, the dressing was abundant. My guest got the chicken penne and said it wasn’t as flavorful as they had expected. But we still enjoyed our experience, the service was great!
Food was excellent. Was surprised by the atmosphere as it is a market too. But the food was very good. Had the special.
The special was truly special! I enjoyed the flavor from sauce on the fish to the flavorful veggies.
If you love seafood like we do, this is the kind of place you could eat at every week. Excellent quality that you can order in a healthy preparation. The choices are good and our server was outstanding at helping us order and checking on us. The Oak Lawn location is in a strip center, and is limited to a relatively short selection of beers and wines.
It’s always a treat savoring the fresh flavors of the sea. From $2 oysters on Sunday after 6 pm to half priced wines on Tuesday’s it’s a hidden gem in all of the plethora of restaurant throughout Dallas.
The food is fresh, simple, and well-prepared. Wait staff is professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Definitely should go here more often.
Excellent find with the freshest of seafood. Very good staff.
It was great!!!
We had the shrimp cocktails and fish tacos! Both are awesome and the best in Dallas! Our waiter was Rene and he was fantastic.
They do not always have product in stock
Get the lobster roll!
Just a fabulous meal with great service. The freshest ingredients made for a delightful evening.
TJs is a real neighborhood gem serving amazing seafood in a quiet and inviting atmosphere. The most relaxing dinner we've had in a while.
Lovely place. We were looking for a quiet place for dinner and was not disappointed. We were early diners so the place was not full...what we wanted. I had the gumbo , greay, fish tacos with coconut fish, great. And my wife had the salmon board, great. Service was spot on and price points where they should be. Will go back.
We had been to TJs on previous occasions and the meal was good. Friday must have been an off night. The staff seemed rushed. My fish was overcooked and my soup was cold with a film on top. Probably won't go back. I don't mind spending $50 a person but not for the poor quality we had last night.
I really thought the food was great. Had some original seafood options. Greeted nicely. Got to our table right away, no waiting. The service started out ok. My first glass of wine was spilled on me by the person delivering food. Total accident which I understood. The glass poured all over my shirt and pants. Luckily the glass didn’t break until it hit the floor so no glass on me. I felt like I was being blamed for this spill at first until I informed them it was not me. I was given a linen napkin which had no absorption to help dry me off. Then another employee who was working brought me a dry towel to help dry it off a few minutes later.
I was brought another glass of wine and was told I would not be charged and I was not. I ordered a second glass, which when it arrived was not the correct wine. I did not drink it. When the bill came I asked the server. At first would not take responsibility for bringing the wrong wine. Then still insisted on charging me for it. After a ridiculous list of excuses he talked to the manager that took off the wine charge. Then when he came back to the table he very rudely pointed out the wine was not on the bill. As if he was doing me a huge favor. Remind you I was still sitting in wet pair of pants and shirt. I felt the server was just rude, arrogant and almost condescending about it. That experience left us leaving not wanting to go back here again. I was not looking for freebies or anything. But being charged for being spilled on. Then for a glass I didn’t order was not right in my opinion.
