TJ's Highland Steakhouse
TJ’s Highland Steakhouse features a classic steakhouse menu inside the comfort and coziness of a country club. Our menu showcases selections of USDA Iowa Premium Prime Dry Aged Beef, Domestic Wagyu, and Berkshire Pork all meticulously kept in their own private cooler. All of our side dishes are carefully crafted with family style in mind. Equipped with a brand new state-of-the-art kitchen, Chef Michael England vows to bring the big city steakhouse experience to Oshkosh, Wisconsin
After being referred to dine here I was excited to try it out with my wife. Overall the service was great, food was ok, and wine was way overpriced. We ordered a $150 bottle of wine thinking we were going to get a great bottle but it drank like a $25 bottle. The steak was good but not great and overpriced in my mind. Oysters and crab cakes were great. All in all I'd probably not done here again, but would recommend to others to try out. For a $300 meal I expected a lot more.
Oshkosh does not have a fine dining restaurant like this! Beautiful redecorated interior of the Scottish Highlands, very cozy, warm ambiance, great for a date, fancy occasion, special event or just a night out.
The aged steaks are to die for, OMG, the aromas! The N.Y. Strip, was very tender and succulent. Lobster tail was fresh and had a rich flavor. We always get the 1903 Cesar Salad, to start, fun presentation, it comes standing in a parmesan fricco, with Cesar anchovy dressing. Tonight we got the oysters on the half shell, they were incredibly fresh, decadent and delicious, unlike anything, I've had in the Fox Valley! We'll definitely be going coming here again! Thanks Chef England! :)
Chef Mike and the team did another outstanding job!
Restaurant was beautiful and very comfortable if the steak wasn’t so salty I would come back lots of money for a steak that was almost un eatable told waitress but no compensation at all🤦♀️
Excellent experience. This place rivals the finest steakhouses in Chicago. Everything was cooked to perfection!
We love this place. The food and service has been outstanding every time we come. It’s our new favorite restaurant for special occasions
So good we ate there two nights in a row. Steak and Seafood fantastic
Food quality and quantity was over the top. Wedge salad was huge, Seared Ahi was perfect and the seafood pasta specialty was outstanding. Even though we don't eat steak the menu had enough for us to choose from although the wine list might be a little pricey. Great meal!
I think someone in the kitchen forgot our mushrooms and sides, so about ten minutes after the overpriced porterhouse arrived, did we have everything for our meal. It was still delicious and great service but for the price I expected 5 stars and was disappointed.
We were looking for a nice dinner that had a little more quiet atomsphire so we could hear our conversations with our friends without having to talk at the top of our lungs. Saturday night everyone had a 2 hour wait. Read the reviews of this restaurant and gave it a try. So glad we did! We will definitely be going again. Top quality menu, phenomenal steak selections and the bartender hit it out of the park. The presentation of all the dishes were exceptional and the flavor of our food was outstanding. It was Vegas steak House quality. Decor is a little Scottish (hence being on a golf course), but very cozy atomsphire but plenty of room for privacy or large groups. Even has a more casual eating area by the bar.
Great Steakhouse. Excellent service, nice selection of wines. The green bean and mushroom side dishes are really good.
I've had steak several times and each time the medium rare order is rare in the middle third of the steak and the outer sides are too done and has to be further cooked.
I'm a steak lover. I would not find this at the Roxy at a substantially lower price and better value.
Please correct this issue as I wish to patronize you as a customer.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. I will recommend and return.
The food was good, but not the best I've had. I had the salmon. Although it was good, I've had better at several places, for a lot less money. The server did not get everyone's order correct at my table (table of 7). No one at the table had steak, so I am not sure how the steaks are.
Food is ok way over hyped. Gorgeous interior that is rich and warm. Service excellent throughout the meal. Terribly noisy throughout the meal.
Took a little break from TJ’s Highland Steakhouse after quite a few visits after opening. Looks like they’ve been working hard to work out the new restaurant glitches, and we were very happy with the improved service and food prep improvements. A nice Saturday night crowd shows that TJ’s is growing in popularity, and with food & service like we experienced recently, success will follow. Nice Job!
We truly enjoyed our date night together at TJ's Highland. The restaraunt and bar are relaxing, cozy, and the food was excellent. We enjoyed drinks at the bar followed by wine at our dinner table. We split the tenderloin for 2 with ceaser salad and lobster mac n cheese and we were very pleased with all of it. The staff was helpful in making our food and wine selections and provided timely friendly service. A great place to unwind and converse with one another. We will be excited to return!
Excellent service food and atmosphere.
Awesome food and dining experience, Allie our server was excellent and very customer centric . Chef gets excellent marks for his creation, overall it was an excellent dining experience. Cant wait for my next visit
Great food, great staff!
Waitress very knowledgeable, made the evening enjoyable.
Vito and chef made it a warm and memorable experience
And the meal was delicious.
Will definitely recommend TJ’s Highlander highly..
Amazing place, impeccable food. Unique options. Loved the atmosphere and the decor. The meal was worth every penny. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating without being over the top and I didn’t feel rushed at all. The seating was comfortable and the timing of the meal was great. Enjoyed the music, even though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Would definitely return. Best steak I’ve ever had.
I took my wife to dinner for our 39th wedding anniversary on a Thursday night. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:45 which was our reservations we were seated immediately which was great there were only two other couples in the entire restaurant. Our waitress came to the table immediately and took drink orders and we also ordered a couple of hors d'oeuvres we ordered a bottle of wine and I ordered a cocktail. The bottle of wine arrived within minutes my cocktail didn't show up for 25 minutes after we had already received our hors d'oeuvres. I had ordered a ketel one straight up chilled which arrived in a water glass a little disappointing we had ordered our dinner and salads. The time between the hors d'oeuvres and the dinner was quite lengthy as they brought out our steaks I mentioned to our waitress we never received are salads I was told they were on the way I mentioned I no longer wanted it and they offered to box it up for me. I had ordered a bone-in ribeye that showed up on a plate with no garnish of any kind and was kind of falling apart my wife and ordered strip steak which one she cut into it was completely raw she hadn't ordered it medium. We call the waitress over to inform her that the steak was raw took it back to the kitchen and brought it back 5 minutes later when we cut into it again it was still raw so the second time it went back to the kitchen for another 5 minutes well my steak got cold waiting for my wife's it finally made it out cooked correctly but totally charred on the outside. Someone came to our table I'm assuming he was the manager and offered us a free dessert for our troubles however the salad which I told him I did not want because it came out too late I was still charged for. The decor is beautiful however if they want to remain a high-end steak House they're going to have to step up their game in both the bar end and the kitchen I don't mind paying a premium price for good food and service however this was a total letdown.
Pretty place overall, friendly enough hostesses and wait staff but not super polished and professional like I would expect somewhere of this caliber. Smaller menu and no one talked to us about specials or steak toppers or anything. Did not like the Lobster bisque or lobster thermidor - both were not very warm and had strange flavors like perhaps they were scorched. Underdone steak was quickly rectified in a totally polite manner, sides were good but entrees themselves were very underwhelming for the price. We won't be back anytime soon.
Lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent. Would recommend for a dinner date or just a drink at the bar for the ambiance.
Wait staff seemed inexperienced. Was strange coming on a Friday night with almost empty restaurant. Steaks done just right. Asparagus was not fresh.
Haley and trainee were superb!
The AC made me wish I’d worn winter clothes even though it was August but the food, drinks and service were great!
The steak melted in my mouth. The wedge salad could feed a table of 4 easily!
Our party of 4 picked up at least 10 lunch and evening menus to pass out to our friends in the Neenah area. What a pleasant and beautiful restaurant with a beautiful landscape. Thank you!
Food was very good! The only reason they didn't receive a 5 star overall was because my wife's steak was rare, not medium, and the sprouts should've been cooked/steamed longer; a little too crunchy for our taste.
The flavors were excellent. One of the finest steaks I've had (Bavette) and the crab cake is to die for (Her opinion, I'm not a CC fan but I'd eat it again.)
My husband, daughter and I dined at TJ's Highland Steakhouse on Sat 8/3 for the first time.
The meal was exquisite. Petite filet was melt in your mouth tender and seasoned to perfection. My daughter had the cedar plank salmon and she loved it. Very flavorful. We ordered sides that were shareable. Quiet dining, excellent service from beginning to end. I highly recommend this establishment and cannot wait to visit again soon. This is just what Oshkosh and surrounding areas need.
Excellent presentation several dishes were under or even unseasoned.
The website says "world class". Not sure what world they are talking about. The cocktails took forever to come out. The soups came out before the drinks. The steaks and mushrooms were undercooked. The augratan potatoes were fair. They are charging Fleming's, Ruth's Chris and Capital Grill prices and delivering a less than Longhorn Steakhouse product. The server was pleasant but not focused. I had emailed the restaurant prior with a question and never heard back. So communication is on a par with the product. I will br cringing next month when Ihave to pay the Visa bill.
Great place, good food with 2 exceptions - Very expensive for Oshkosh ($200.00 for 3) and Zero Cell Phone Service
TJ's Highland Steakhouse. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, she had the Caesar Salad, I had the beet salad. The fried cheese enclosure around the salad proved to be so tough as to sucessfully resist my efforts to cut it with a new steak knife!
She had the tenderloin steak, I had the seared Ahi tuna. We had a drink a piece. She a gin gimlet me a brandy and ice. Service was wonderful, our server Alexandra was excellent. The quality of the entrees was very good.
We sent the first serving of popovers back. They were from yesterday, cold and collapsed into unrecognizable balls of dough. The next were fresh but tiny. The steak was cooked perfectly. The tuna was also served well but the exterior had not been seared. It lacked flavor and consistency. A shameful way to treat a fish.
I was privileged to speak briefly with the executive chef and the MOD about how I felt about our dining experience. Chef defended his servings defiantly.
I paid $142.00 for this adventure in Wisconsin haute cuisine. Never again.
We had a excellent dinner here. Our server, Alexandra, was great as well. We had the salmon and the chicken and both were delicious! Atmosphere was lovely as well. We will definitely return on our next trip to Oshkosh!
Newly remodeled restaurant with very nice, comfortable touches, located on a beautiful golf course. Food and drink are on the expensive side for the city of Oshkosh, but are of high quality and fresh ingredients. Server was very friendly and attentive but not fully trained on food and drink menu, she had to refer to it a few times and was not decisive when asked for a recommendation. I will be back and would definitely recommend it to others.
The server forgot to bring the wine and the bread. The steak was undercooked and had very little flavour. The Brussels sprouts were over cooked and soggy not charred and crispy.
Everything is fabulous! We enjoy dining here at least once a week. The staff is wonderful and the menu is superb!
