TJ Ribs - Acadian
A Baton Rouge original for over 30 years, TJ Ribs serves the worlds best baby back ribs, fresh local seafood and Cajun-inspired comfort food. For decades, we’ve served up our award-winning baby back ribs with all the fixin’s to our beloved Baton Rouge community. We are home of the 1959 Heisman trophy which is displayed where guest can take pictures with it. From celebrating a guest’s special occasion at the restaurant to catering an event for 300 people, we always put our customers first. At TJ Ribs, we are passionate about three things: great food, exceptional service and LSU sports–Geaux Tigers!
Food not what it used to be. Ribs weren't thick and moist.
They were dry and had an odd, artificial smoke flavor.
Waitress was nice but had her mask pulled below her mouth all the time.
Not a great experience.
This was our second visit to this location. Left slightly disappointed - food was lukewarm at best and the shrimp salad had very few shrimp on it, was really just a bowl of romaine lettuce and a few other ingredients but it was overpriced because of lack of shrimp.
Service was good and the server was very professional and looked after us well, I just wasn't as impressed as our first visit. Ribs were the highlight of the meal, they were delicious. We will go back but it will be a while!
The service was great, my waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was good, i wasn’t wild about the ribs. I do intend to come back for the Brisket, i should have ordered it in the beginning i do love Briskets
Service was very good. Disappointed that fried eggplant spears have been taken off the menu. Music was obnoxiously loud. We requested it be turned down and it was lowered a little. Ribs were very good.
As always the food was good, the margaritas not as good compared to past visits
Not as good as it used to be
I am a regular at TJ's, both locations here in Baton Rouge. Been a while since I have been, so I was expecting great food and service. Well I got both. I know that the COVID-19 has caused a lot of restaurants to raise their pricing, but the steaks we had had gone up considerably more than our last visit. But well worth it.
Still wish their would bring back the sauteed mushrooms as a side. This used to be the best bargain on the menu. They replaced that side about 3 years ago for Carrot Souffle.... Now you can get mushroom on your steak and they are sliced and no taste. Good thing there is butter.
Great outing for my birthday.
Brisket is delicious. Sweet potato fries are served with a dusting of powdered sugar. The side of carrot soufflé is delish.
Got the lunch special of a 6 oz hand cut filet. It was delicious. Wait staff & wait staff in training were great. Nice break from work.
We love TJ Ribs Acadian, but our dinner on Father’s Day was terrible.
- 25 minutes at the table w/o even getting water is how it started: but it’s COVID so things are different. We have some slack. To Go orders we’re flying out the door the entire visit.
- After waiting too long for food we were told they were out of what my husband ordered (prime rib), then in the next breathe what I ordered (ribeye).
-We were placing a replacement order as my ribeye that wasn’t supposed to be coming got brought to the table. So now I have food and my husband doesn’t.
- Husband is brought food finally after I’ve eaten and have leftovers boxes: and his vegetable side is raw broccoli/cucumber/tomato. Really? That’s just sad.
- Steaks were delicious, so was our App so at least the food was mostly good
- I think our server may have been new and it just showed the entire time, he was very sweet but struggling.
We will go back because we are hoping this was just part Covid confusion or an off night.
Very good food. Enjoyed the evening.
great for the reopening, will be going back soon!!
Enjoyed our lunch very much! Michael, the server, was attentive and helpful. The food was good and fairly priced. I appreciated their willingness to provide a quiet area, blocked off, so we could discuss our fundraiser while enjoying a good lunch!
As always, great ribs. Server was attentive. Make reservations it makes it so easy especially for larger parties.
Preferred the original tj’s look. First chance to go since they remodeled years back. Booths are pretty small for larger people and once they moved us I found the chairs were uncomfortable. My knees were higher than my seat. Just do not see myself going back.
Nice waitress Phoebe! She was very sweet and anxious to please! Great service.
The entire experience was truly amazing and the staff made me like family
The hostess was kinda rude and she seem a bit overwhelmed. Some of our food was cold and it took a long time to get to us. We other tables around us was have similar experiences. I love TJ ribs but it was not a good Valentines Day. I did not get the frame or get a picture with my husband. I kinda wish we would have saved our money.
Worse restaurant experience ever!
Great place for baby back ribs and the brisket quesadillas are wonderful!
The restaurant ran out of the Valentine special at 7:30 PM valentines night. The drink order took 20 minutes to get to the table. The entree took 40 minutes to get to the table after our server came back to the table to let us know the lobster was all gone. When our entrees made it to the table the food wa room temperature. I will continue to eat T Js but not for special occasions. I expected better for the price.
My steak and lobster were both undercooked. Service was great though.
Will try again
Always a great place!!!
Very cold inside. There was a draft by a side door. You should fix that. We drive from Lafayette every year in January to eat here. Our sons birthday been coming 23 years might have to stop
A great date spot , foot for family and friends to come have drink and watch the games. The food is good just that when I got mines it was cold but the taste was still good ! The didn’t have any Étouffée and that gutted me to my hurt because that what I can for but the prices is kinda high for the value !
It was great, but our server was less than enthusiastic.
Our server was outstanding. So nice and made us feel very welcome - her name was Phoebe
Great LSU game day Environment. Service was great. Very nice waitress
Excellent service and food. A must stop for my family when we come to Baton Rouge.
