Great food and excellent service in an atmosphere reminiscent of a Howard Johnson's.
Very welcoming staff and the service was terrific. Plenty of delicious food (we ended up splitting some dishes)! Would definitely go back. Looks like they have a nice outdoor patio area, so we'll definitely go back when the evenings warm up a bit. A restaurant jewel hidden in a Holiday Inn...who knew???
We were there the last Sunday of Restaurant week. Everything great except the strudel. We tried both kinds: pumpkin and berry. The pastry just wasn't that good. We were forgotten about early on but eventually we were waited on. The wiener schnitzel was great!! We will try again. The personnel were all very friendly.
wonderful dining experience that we're so thankful to restaurant week for showcasing so many great eateries in the area. our server, jenna, was amazing and the entire staff and chef made appearances to check in on us thru out the evening. the scallops were seared to perfection, the smoked burrata was a delight to see and eat. and we ate every bit of our trout and duck. the strudel was a perfect ending to a delicious meal! and of course kudos for those warm farm biscuits that melt in our mouths - so good!!
Another terrific dinner with friends at Tisza. The dishes are unique, the presentation perfect. There is an upscale bar with drinks that are delicious as well. The wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable, and, the owner/chef sends a tasty small appetizer to each table, gratis...a nice touch. Though the menu is somewhat limited, you will not be disappointed.

Last our waiter forgot our appetizer and this time he forgot our bread and butter.
Everyone enjoyed their meals. Well cooked/seasoned, good portions. It's in the Holiday Inn and has a Holiday Inn ambiance -- probably the only drawback. We had lovers of German/Hungarian food in our party and they were very satisfied.

If you can get over the fact that it’s in the holiday inn express, the restaurant is producing wonderful food! The only downside is the parking lot. But once in the restaurant everything is great. This is the second time three of us attended restaurant week. We promise to go back sooner. The starters were delicious and we enjoyed them, but the schnitzel and the strudel are the stars.
The staff was friendly and clearly invested in the success of the restaurant. They were packed on a Tuesday night and were attentive and delightful.
1st time attending Tisza. Scallop small plate was not over cooked and sauce was unique. The burrata small plate was also exceptional but a little too much bread. Would have liked a little more to offset the cheese...like a red tomatoe/basil. The duck was perfectly roasted on outside with moist meat inside. Difficult to do with duck! That is why we order it when we go out and appreciate it when done well! The brussel sprouts were roasted on the outside with al dente inside. Nice. The fish was unique with the almonds pressed into the fish with a nice lemon sauce. I felt there was too much fish and could have just had 1 fillet with more vegetables. Fish was not overcooked. Nice. The donut dessert we requested 1 because we normally do not eat carbs but once we tasted one we ended eating all 5 of the balls served in the one bowl with the slight sauce. The sauce was added with just a little and did not over power the focus of the donut balls. The dessert was not greasy and not heavy and tasted as if was just made for us at that time. The wine was a Riesling @ 32.00 with was a sweeter wine but went well with our dishes and the ambiance. We almost cancelled when we found out that the restaurant was in the Holiday Inn but went ahead and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was 5 stars. We asked a lot of questions about the food and the servers asked the chefs the answers if they did not know. We used to go to Europa in Santa Rosa for Eastern European cuisine and now we will drive the 30 miles north to visit again. Thank you
As always, the Wiener Schnitzel was expertly prepared. Would have loved to have it done the traditional way (veal, not pork) but understood where the chef is coming from with all of the activists around town. But in truth, it should be labeled differently for us Europeans who know the difference.

We had a great evening with our friends eating at Tisza for my husbands birthday. The food was outstanding! Service was great, the chef/owner was out on the floor talking with customers and offering savory puff pastry delights. We cannot wait to go back. I had the braised lamb shank and polenta, it was mouthwatering. The atmosphere was lively and the piano player was a great touch.
I just love that place!
I was looking forward to coming back for business just for the food part!

The food at Tisza is fantastic. We've been there several times and always leave with smile on our faces and full stomachs. The chef always has seasonal changes to his menu and great specials. The spaetzel mac-n-cheese is to die for, and the jaegerschnitzel is amazing! Tisza is now one of our favorite spots in Sonoma County.
We all were so happy after our meal. The food was delicious and the service from the person that seated us to our outstanding waiter Oscar could not have been better.

Unique menu - I had the "gnocchi" which was more like a dumpling, and my dining companions had the duck, pumpkin soup & salad. Everything was delicious as was the cheesecake dessert. Like many restaurants today, the lack of any sound absorption material and being seated by the open kitchen window made it difficult to converse. I also hate looking at the behind the scenes functions of a restaurant and prefer a seating that does not view but none was available.
We love Tisza and eat there often. However, Valentine’s Day was phenomenal!! From the seafood appetizer to the chocolate dessert! In between, mushroom bisque and filet mignonette all prepared perfectly!
Simply the best food in Sonoma county(esp for the $!) time after time. My new “go to” restaurant when I travel to the Santa Rosa region on a monthly basis.

We've eaten here about seven times now and it never fails to impress. A true Windsor gem, in a beautiful little town that is lacking great restaurants this has become the benchmark. The chef is an artist. The food is beautifully prepared and presented. The staff is friendly and attentive. We love having this restaurant in town.
I had Werner Schnitzel (thin cut breaded pork) served with marinated cucumber dill sauce and lingonberries and potato.
It included a choice of salad or a bowl of soup. I had a bowl of the best butternut squash soup that I have ever had. Freshness of squash creamy but not with too much richness of too much cream.
Garnished with fresh pumpkin seeds and fresh herbs and A cream swirl design.
The chef was influenced by his mother’s home cooked meals. European and Hungarian style.
My friend had a large, thick meat patty burger 🍔 that was cooked to perfection with hand cut fries.
I live in Windsor so I will definitely be going frequently.
Next time I am trying duck with brandy cherries sauce. Our server said it is a customer favorite.
Prices are reasonable.
The restaurant is located inside the new Holiday Inn Express Hotel.
I didn’t expect a restaurant with amazing food here.
Chef is in view from the seating we had. You can tell he takes pride in each dish.
The desserts looked amazing but I was too full.

Presentation of the food was incredible and very tasty
Most of all the meals were very fresh and mixture of flavors was an experience!
The food was quite good and I tried a Hungarian wine which I had never heard of and it was quite good too. The server was knowledgable about both the menu and the wine list and the service was prompt and attentive but not overly so. The ambiance was a little plain, and the place was somewhat noisy but i would certainly recommend it.
Chef delivered cheese biscuits and Oscar the waiter was awesome ensuring our specific menu modifications were as requested. Food was exceptional.
Grumpy hostess/waitress. Horrid service. We waited for over an hour to get breakfast items AND were scolded because the other table dining (who came after us but were served first) complained about the kids. This was our second time and our last.

I travel the world and I love good food. I can say my meal was impeccable. So much so that I look forward to visit the area again so I can enjoy another meal and try something else on the menu.

Food was well prepared, beautiful presentations and delicious. This was our second time there and we will go back. Beet salad is a must have and gnocchi (I can't remember Hungarian name) was spectacular.
Food presentation was exceptional, the food delicious. This is going to be one of my favorite spots in Windsor. Good menu with a nice selection of choices. Make a reservation, they fill up fast.
We love this restaurant. The food is always excellent and service is usually very good. We come here at least once a month. It is our favorite local place now that Willis Wine Bar is no longer on Old Redwood Highway.
