Food was exceptional in taste and presentation, and also the service.
Been to lunch and now dinner. Both were very good but lunch was much quieter. Both times the owner/chef came to our table and interacted. (Very nice) We will make this one of our regulars that's for sure.
I would say the food is better than the service we had a reservation the hose had to continually ask us our name and the number of our party and we had a party of four. The food was good basic our service was awful when I go back probably not
Don’t let the fact that this resteraunts is in th seamen building as a Holiday Inn . They are not associated, the food is awesome and the service was great. A must do if you are stayin in Windsor.
Don’t let the fact that this restaurant is in a Holiday Inn stop you from going! Food was fabulous, we had lunch during our trip up the valley and food was outstanding!
I didn't realize it was in the Holiday Inn. The service was excellent but I was expecting a nicer restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, the service was excellent.
Such a great restaurant! Amazing service and the food was even better!
We found the menu, and the dishes we chose to order, gourmet perfect! The lamb shank. The petrale sole. The mussels were the best we ever tasted and they were also beautiful and big.
Several different wineries in the area highly recommended Tisza, and we wish we had
dined here sooner.
The service was great and the food excellent. Highly recommend dining at Tisza, we will
definitely be eating there again.
Great food. good variety in the menu. Owner/chef Christian knows what he is doing. Only suggestion I have is:
1 - Completely close off the opening from the patio to the street - - too much wind and vehicle noise
2 - Put some sound absorbing materials on the floor and walls of the indoor restaurant. The hard surfaces reflect and increase the noise level, which is pretty high.
OMG! What a way to start our vacation with friends. We all agreed, best food we have had in a long time. Service was wonderful. Would recommend Tisza highly.
Food preparation and presentation always a wonderful experience.
We often go here for lunch however we decided to try dinner. Lunches are amazing, dinners are spectacular!!! We shared the lamb shank and it literally melted in your mouth!!
No attention to detail, the lighting structures had cob webs all over them. Mediocre food.
Don't let Holiday Inn setting fool you. A warm modern ambience with creative dishes and very friendly service. Chef has a creative European background and the mushroom chicken with perfect spaetzle was out of this world.
Amazing find. Absolutely delicious, and a fantastic menu. Great service, fabulous cocktails, and the food? Oh my. SO good.
This is a find. One does not expect a high quality restaurant in a Holiday Inn but that is the case here. The chef has Hungarian roots and couples that with fine dining using local produce. His plates are attractive and the food is wonderful. Love the Wiener Schnitzel. Come and be pleased you did. The wait staff is knowledgeable and have a sense of humor. This is a great find.
One of the best if not the best restaurant in Sonoma County. Don’t be fooled just because it is located at a Holiday Inn In Windsor !
Service was excellent, drinks and food were brought to the table with no long wait. We had the bacon wrapped fillet mignon which was delicious, fine dining quality, melting in your mouth. It was served with artichoke hearts and delicious grilled zucchini slices.
We asked for recommendations for a glass of wine to go well with the food and the wine was excellent as well.
Make sure you reserve room for dessert, there are always wonderful options on the list, pot de creme and filled crepe to name a couple.
It was not my first time here and I will come back over and over.
Compliments to the chef for the food and to all for their great service and personal attention to all the tables on a busy night.
Outstanding experience for dinner with friends. Though a somewhat limited menu, it is creative with a variety of fresh vegetables and garnishes accompanying each entree. The gnocchi was uniquely presented with a light sauce and pea sprouts on top. The sole was delicious, on a bed of risotto. An unusual offering of a special burrata salad with balsamic "pearls" was out of this world! The drinks are generous. Service is consistent and attentive without being intrusive. Go.
Discovering that the dining room was in the Hotel was a surprise. Very pleasant area to eat. Menu leaning toward the Chef's origins - Grandmother's recipes - quite good.
And the Chef comes into the dining room to see how the meal is being received.
We were very impressed by Tisza, once you get over the fact that you're eating in a Holiday Inn hotel lobby area. While it is set off to the side, it is definitely reminiscent of eating in a hotel whereby the buffet will be set up by breakfast. Having stated that, they have done the best that they could to art-direct and make it feel as if you are in a restaurant, rather than a hotel.
Once over the aesthetics, this is the Tisza strong suit, the cooking. The menu is very inventive with an ode to old-style European cooking with a modern flare. When was the last time that you saw Hungarian Goulash or Weiner Schnitzel on a menu in Sonoma County? Plus the accouterments of spaetzle, red cabbage and creamy cucumber salad, only added to the authenticity of the cuisine.
The chef introduced himself, a native of Hungary, and seemingly really cared that we had come to try out his restaurant. The service was quite attentive, and because of a slight delay in bringing out out bottle of wine, of which they had to retrieve from the cellar, we were treated to a complimentary plate of homemade biscuits with a pumpkin seed topping which were quite buttery and delicious.
Everyone was delighted with their entrees at the table, and mostly everyone had a take home portion boxed up. The dessert didn't make it to the boxing stage, it was a cheesecake that lasted only a short while on the table before being consumed.
Bottom line: get over the idea that your in a Holiday Inn and give this little gem a chance! They really do care about your coming to their restaurant, and they try to make you feel special. The one thing that makes this place stand out amongst most of Sonoma County is it homage to ethnic dishes, but in a modernized way whereby you still have the farm-to-table feel which has become almost expected in these parts.
Tisza is an outstanding little bistro in an unlikely location, a Holiday Inn. It is a bit loud there but the service was friendly and attentive, the restaurant director, Jonathan, was very friendly and hospitable, and the chef visited our table. The food was well balanced in flavor, was colorful and very beautifully presented, and the prices were reasonable. I am a seafood lover and had a filet of sole dish with crab louie as a starter. Outstanding. I highly recommend Tisza.
Great experience thank you Denise, it was a pleasure meeting you,
Very good menu selection. Tasty food! Nice people. Will definitely come again.
This local restaurant is convenient and close to home. It is inside the newly built Holiday Inn hotel in Windsor. The atmosphere is not fancy. The chef is wonderful with creations and experiments and Eastern European ethnic recipes from his family. The staff is still learning and needs more professionalism. But the food is really good.
Too expensive for the quality of the food. No ambiance.
We had a great evening and delicious dinner at Tisza! It took a little time to get seated, but once we sat down, the service was very friendly and efficient. The bistro has a casual, contemporary feel, with inside and outside seating.
The menu is interesting, and the food is fabulous! We raved about our salads, particularly the iceberg wedge salad - chunks of delicious blue cheese over crisp lettuce, bacon, pickled onion, avocado, tomato and a fabulous dressing. The crispy duck confit was perfect, surrounded by roasted vegetables and brandied cherries. The wienershnitzel, which covered most of the plate, was crispy outside, juicy inside and delicious. Nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle. No room for dessert, but we saw a beautiful wedge of cheesecake go by and it looked awesome!
We will definitely go back soon! There are so many dishes we want to try; in fact the entire menu looks amazing!
Everything was excellent we had the soul and the salmon and both were delicious highly recommend this place breakfast lunch or dinner
Found this restaurant on the Ooen Table app. What a pleasant surprise in The Holiday Inn, no less. Food was very tasty and well prepared. Our server was most attentive. Chef came to our table to check on us and how we were enjoying our meal. Very fair pricing of both food and wine. Definitely will return
I was apprehensive when we arrived to find the restaurant located in a Holiday Inn, but what a pleasant surprise! The menu was eclectic and everything our party of six ordered was presented beautifully and delicious. Give it a try!
Another winner. That chef makes the best soup! And the entree was great too. I had the petrale sole and it was prepared perfectly. Can’t wait to go back
The octopus, burger and schnitzel were excellent. The waitress was enthusiastic.
We were pleasantly surprised as this restaurant is located in the new Holiday Inn. The chef owner created some very tasty dishes and his presentation was beautiful.
The cocktails were just as creative.
We will be returning.
We had a great evening , all of us were happy with our meals and service
Had a wonderful time at this unique restaurant. Everything tasted great but especially enjoyed the duck and gnocchi! Will visit again!
One of our favorite places to eat! Of course the schnitel is to die for, but we've also loved the lamb shank, roasted chicken breast, petrale sole, and anything else we've had. This place is a gem! The service is slow, probably a function of the kitchen, but our servers have always been efficient.
Tisza offers good food and friendly service at fair prices. If there is a negative, it's that the room -- while attractive enough -- has a lot of screens showing sports, which changes the mood. Still, it's a good addition to Sonoma County's food scene.
Great experience, nice presentations, tasty food, excellent menu. You can create, if you like your own tasting menu
