Tir Na Nog - Cherry Hill Ratings and Reviews
This was the third or fourth time we have been it here. Other times were much better. We felt very rushed. We had soup, appetizers and entrées (3 courses) on our table at the same time. They brought the food out so quickly that the burger my daughter ordered was raw and we had to send it back. It was noisier than past visits, as I feel they try to cram everyone into the small middle section. Overall, we usually like this place and may go back again- but it will be a while.
I have no idea why they call this an Irish bar/restaurant. Just because they serve Harp And Guinness, that does make an Irish bar.
Playing soft rock music on sound system, no Irish music. Irish food was limited to 4 Irish entrees. Sheppard she pie was just ok. Corned beef and cabbage was poor. I have had better at the diner. Service was good but when they put an automatic 20% tip, they lost me there too. By the looks as to how empty it was on a Friday night, I guess our opinion was the norm.
Even though we had a reservation for Mother's Day brunch we had to wait a while for a table since a high top wasn't going to work for our party. Our waiter was not prompt and the poached eggs were not hot, warm on the brink of cool. They should also have actual breakfast items on the kids brunch menu- pancakes, French toast, not just lunch items.
We had the fish and chips. The fish was very good although sitting in the frying fat in the bottom
of the serving dish.
Our mussels were delicious. ask for a spoon so we could get all there sauce.
Service was friendly and efficient.
A bit noisy in the room we were in.
Terrible and worse hours later when my fish and chips sought their revenge in the middle of the night. Fish was greasy and mushy. Told it was cod.....noway. And I am a New Englander. Sirloin strip was pan fried and the wings were sent back for more sauce. How does one make a dry Caesar salad???? Great ambiance. Sub par food
My husband had the fish and chips, mom had the crab cake and I had the short ribs. My husband's fries weren't completely done, but the fish was great and a huge piece. Short ribs were excellent and mom loved her crab cake. Service was quick and pleasant. Unfortunately, I had an issue with their signature martini after I got home. Not sure if the pineapple was bad or the mix was. Won't be getting that martini again! Overall, it's a great place. We've been there several times. Would love to see more traditional Irish fare like bangers and mash, our those pasties!
I picked this place specifically because of the gluten-free options. My sister with Celiac ordered her entree (turkey burger) with the salad, and it came with French fries piled on top of it. I know that it does not really matter to most people. To someone with Celiac, this makes you lose all confidence in eating at the place.
